The Minmei poll!

Mrs.Taf told me the other day that Lynn Minmei was earth's way of rickrolling the Zentraedi. Agree or disagree?

The earth forces, being out numbered and out gunned by a 1,000,000 to 1 used ever weapon in their arsenal, including a 'weapon of mass distraction'.

i like all the Japanese Minmay songs from macross. But the english songs are better sung by anyone but by Minmay.

Agreed...American Minmei was damned from the start...But then I don't think they originally thought the role would appeal to fans with discriminating music tastes....
So, who you think would do better versus the Zentraedi:
Hanna Montana
Or
Pat Benatar?

Nah. It's carved into a representation of Lynn-Kyle, so she's at least used to being smacked around by something like it.

4:1, not 1,000,000:1, at least in Robotech.

4:1 and 1,000,000:1 in Robotech. :)

Remember, to give the Earth forces 4:1 odds in Episode 27, the Robotech rewriters rewrote the scripts to give 1 million ships to the enemy in episode 20. Which means that 1 ship faced 1 million ships in at least 5 episodes of Robotech. In other words, 1,000,000:1 odds.

That's right. Despite what fans have misunderstood over the years, Robotech's rewriting actually gave the SDF-1 longer odds for more episodes than what the original Japanese Macross did. The Japanese Macross never had anything close to 1,000,000:1 odds by several magnitudes.

The zentradiee ships were visible to the SDF-1 as clouds of green. Now taking in the realities of space, "it's D* ** BIG, to get this effect you would need about 100,000 ships for each pixel shown. I'm estimating Breetaies fleet at 100,000 due to 'It's been a D*** long time since I watched RT:Macross", and has forgotten numbers of the Imp Fleet Mr. B weasels out of Dolza.
That is why I W.A.G.'ed the odds to be about 1,000,000:1, just based on the numbers of ships needed to get the effect of the green cloud of ship about the earth.

Minmei was a lowborn twit whose success was based solely on the lowered expectations of a captive audience.

Her effect on the Zentradi was based on nothing more then ignorance coupled with novelty.

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

Hey if you don't like her you should see the main character for Macross 7. His songs arn't bad but the guy gets into a VF, gets in the way of the actual combat pilots and shoots speakers at the evil aliens and sings at them untill they get annoyed and go away. Then he complains that they did not like his song and left.
If Archie 3 were to read every palladium book every made would his head explode immediatly do to inconsitancies, or would it take him a couple of days to reason out there is no reason and thus kill himself? ~ Rolling Bear

Oh yes, I am full aware of that guy, I shall not speak his name.

My take on him is that he's about 10 steps further on the "Creepy meter" then Micheal Jackson.

Yeah, all the makings of a pedo there. >.<

And seriously, whoEVER gave that sicko access to a Veritech ought to be SHOT!

Methinks were I a line pilot in the 7 Fleet, a lil blue on blue incident would have occurred.

Gotta love the black market for mecha....

Than the Sage among his Books,

The Armies and Works that you hold Dear,
Are to him but the Playthings of the Moment,
To be turned over with the Flick of a Finger,
And the Turning of a Page"
