Is there a reason why the Robotech games have been suspended? I would like to participate in one regardless of era, mecha, etc..

Yes, it needs a GM for the game.

I've returned to AA Protection Services as Game Master! And Paragon Aquisition Services as a PC (Kat Porter), as well as Explorers, Inc. (Jenny Jefferies)

You too, should be a Game Master!

P.S.: I know it's not too popular to say, but the G.U.R.P.S. Cyberpunk game looks pretty bloody awesome too.

I would be happy to run Robotech- it is the game that got me started on Palladium Games. My preference would be to start in the Macross Era.

However for that to happen, you'd have to find someone to run AAPS, and wait for me to finish their current adventue. I already had to go dormant on them once, and I wouldn't want to leave them without a Game Master- Tiree pitched in for a while, and they had a guy with the handle 'The Dreamer' who never actually ran game. He got recruited and then ran into a problem with our benevolent dictator- it happens.

I am peculating an idea for a game that starts off at the end of the Master's era / Beginning of the Invid Invasion. Where players can be practically any OCC. Gear would range from Masters equipment to 1st Generation UEEF equipment. Resistance Cells created, Supply Lines formed, Stingers made. As the game progresses new supplies arrive, along with new equipment.

Of course this would require a series of strong players, who are willing to do a bit more "World Building" than just shoot stuff up.

Each of EU's Phase World groups now has an opening for a new PC!
With reliable GMs at the helm (if I do say so myself), a solid ~weekly post rate, and an almost six-year-long epic campaign spanning the Three Galaxies, the two games do not disappoint. And we haven't even broken out those fancy new minion war books yet.

EU is presently in its "Holiday Post-Rate Suspension" period, so responses to new, would-be players will be slower than normal unless new players contact me through IM.

Also, EU is presently looking for new players, and especially new GMs.

Explorersunlimited.com is a play-by-post site dedicated primarily to the Palladium Books line, but recent offerings include GURPS Cyberpunk. We're interested in players and game masters for all game settings, and have several multi-group shared campaigns. While I know many GURPS players dislike Palladium (even I dislike the rules), the settings are usually quite interesting if you can get over the mechanics.

Groups typically have a maximum limit of 8-10 players per Game Master, and a minimum of 4-5. If you are looking for a place to host a game other than those already provided, it is likely you will find plenty of applicants on the site.

Minimum posting rate is once per week for most games. However, if you give us notice of absences, we are quite understanding. Yahoo Instant Messenger is required for all games, I believe.

The sites focus overall is on 'role' over 'roll' playing, but dice do determine success or failure, so the goal is to post your characters intentions and let your GM tell you the result. Overall, writing is expected to be in third person present tense.

Explorers Unlimited player-character groups (Rifts only)
Heroes for Hire (Independent, 8 players, 2 openings, GM: The Game Master)

The Roughnecks (Independent, 6 Players, 4 Openings, GM: The Game Master)
A small squad specializing in unconventional warfare and counter-terrorism tactics but who always ends up in the belly of the beast.

The "reboot" is nearly complete.

What has changed:
Implementation of a meta-currency (Explorer Points) to incentivize great roleplaying and enabling further customization of individual characters.
Implementation of a new organizational paradigm for Game Masters and the groups they run.
Standardization of item templates to increase readability.
General clean-up of the member list and various forums and rules.

What is still to come:
Other Worlds and Explorers Unlimited will merge into one mega-site covering all Palladium Books' game settings.
Finalization of the Newcomers Thread v3.0

There are presently the following position available:

Game Masters for currently inactive game settings: Robotech, Palladium Fantasy, Nightbane, and others

Assistant Game Masters for Die Ausgestossenen (a Eurasian group), Dead Reign, Phase World, Heroes Unlimited, and Rifts Orbit

Players are always wanted!

Thanks for the positive review! Lurkers are always welcome, though we do love new players!

The 1st SOG is at six members, and has seen as many as ten, but I'm capping it at eight members from now on as that seems to be the sweet spot for character interaction and a smoothly flowing post-rate.

Ships from AUGG were so generic as to be useless save as templates. Still, you might read about Grymdin in the future, or perhaps a return to Phorilla...

Hot Rod wrote:I retract my earlier positive review. TGM does not seem to care what goes on at his site, if his friends do it it must be ok. Bullying must be resisted in ANY form.

This is butthurt, emotional sophistry.

#1. Just because someone on EU is a GM does not make him my "friend." I accept GMs based on their willingness to fulfill the role, and their ability to do so--end of story. There are over a dozen GMs on site (there have been dozens over the years), and I've met a grand total of one IRL, and don't even consider him a friend. GMs come, and GMs go...just like players. I don't get attached or show preferential treatment.

#2. I do care what transpires at my site as evidenced by the fact that I pay for it. Also, If I "didn't care," I wouldn't have an entire forum dedicated to rules and conduct.

#3. The ultimate problem with this complaint is that both yourself and the GM were handling your conflict like badly behaved children. You began by running to the perceived authority (me) for retributive "justice" instead of handling your problems like a grown-up. So began a long string of PMs and chat logs between you and the GM, none of which could be substantiated objectively, and all with me caught in the middle like a damned playground attendant between two squabbling brats.

How adults deal with such problems:
Try to negotiate through the disagreement with reason and persuasion.
If that fails, if you don't like how a GM runs his group, you leave and find another GM who better suits you.

"Bullying must be resisted in any form." Says the player who tried to get the site admin to bully for him instead of resolving his problems through negotiation and voluntary choices.

Explorers Unlimited is the place to play Palladium games on the web. While other sites exist none have the same level of participation and quality of administrators.

The Rifts setting is by far the most developed and intricate PBP setting I have encountered on the internet. With 8 player groups all based out of Merctown, dozens of PCs have the chance to interact with each other.

Most other Palladium games are represented on EU, and as with the Rifts setting the quality of GM and player alike is exemplary.

Recently the site has undergone a 'Reboot'. Assistant GMs have been added to ensure continuous game play and to make sure character progression happens at a timely pace. While the naturally slow pace of PBP takes some getting used to, many changes undertaken during the reboot were designed to increase and encourage rate of participation. So far these steps have proved successful.

Finally, the newly installed EP system allows PCs to spend reward points accumulated through site participation for more character accounts or extra character customization.

Come join EU now, the most active, addictive PBP site on the web!

With a brand new GM, The Rifts Orbit game looks to take back the stars. Unfortunately, we're a little short on manpower. With your help, we can be back to fighting strength. Please, view any of "The Game Master"'s posts to find the link and look for Rifts Orbital.

We're in the middle of restructuring as well, with new rules to finally be in place to bring it up to the standard that The Game Master himself holds to.

With these new rules, create mutant animals and humans and fly around orbit to other stations, the moon, and even the great beyond. Locate rare items, prevent the void from over taking your body, and live where few earthlings dare think of living. Are you Spacer enough to live?

Contact the Orbital Master on Explorers Unlimited and find out what happens when humanity leaves the world behind.

A snippet of reprint from the Newcomer's Thread:
(We're all quite accustomed to reprint, right, folks?)

General advice for working with us on EU:
  1. Don't make assumptions.
  2. Don't assume authority.
  3. Don't assume you're entitled to anything. (Everything, including respect, is earned on this site.)
  4. Don't be a jerk.
  5. Persuasive, logical arguments work best; emotional arguments are the least effective.
  6. Do your own research. If you are unsure about something, spend some time searching for the answer yourself. If there's no canonical answer or the answer is ambiguous, or if the issue seems entirely subjective, then seek counsel from a veteran player, AGM, GM, or TGM. We are here to help, but not to do your homework.
  7. Recognize, as TGM does, that no single person has all the answers and that a GM's knowledge and decisions are imperfect.
  8. When you're in error, or have made a bad choice, own that error. We respect intellectual honesty far more than perfection.

We are currently rebuilding the world, as how MercTown was built. A setting location or "Home Town" to have downtime between adventures.

As for a GM, none have applied. But I am sure if there is enough interest one will pop up.

As a side note, the same is being done for Robotech.

The PFRPG setting is taking shape nicely.

Llorn has been very well established as the base of operations for adventures.

There are enough dedicated players interested now to form a solid party of adventurers.

All that is needed is a dependable GM!

I would be willing to GM the game myself, but I already have two groups I GM for, and I know from experience that two is my limit--beyond that and my quality and post rate suffers. If I can get a dependable person to replace me as GM for Heroes for Hire, then I would be willing to GM for Palladium Fantasy.
