In my BTS games, we normally cast actors to play our characters, so everyone at the table is on the same page.

I've written to several of the players at Lazlo, asking who they would cast as their character in a Beyond the Supernatural movie, but my list is woefully incomplete. I'd appreciate it if you could help me fill in the gaps.

My wife thinks Pendragon and Holister look great. Rowr.

I can't wait to see the Three Russians.

Edit: Well, not the new Pendragon.

Bert and Natasha have volunteered Heath Ledger for Sasha and Kevin Nash for Kolya.

She has not decided on one for herself yet, however.

SO LOVE using Kevin Nash!!!
As for Sasha, no wonder he's a ladies man. :-D

Fortunately for me, Natasha does not know who Dolf Lungeren is haha.

It is almost as if she had the sithbunny in mind when choosing.

Sasha and Natashare are Kolya's teammates.
Katja (kalle) is a private contractor.

Scotty is a true blue American from the Ozarks. He wears plaid flannel shirts, faded blue jeans, old cowboy boots, and the occassional Ferguson Tractor or John Deere tractor ballcap when the sun is particularly bright. That is what he wears 365 days out of the year, unless it gets up around 100 degrees F then he rolls up his sleeves and carries a bandana, or if it gets really cold he will don his Carhartt bibs and snow boots.

Mmmm Carhartts. *purrs softly*

Sasha suggested me that Grizzly Adams would be better for Scotty. Well, Scotty is Sasha's character, so let it be so.

I agree. Grizzly Adams' looks is much more inline with Scotty.

He started growing his beard in A-stan, I guess, while working for the CIA.

Rumour has it, Scotty speaks Tajik :bandit:

I considered adding a short bio entry after the name.

For example:

Ron Caliburn: Hunter based out of Washington D.C.; father of Hannah Caliburn.

Debunker: Skeptical psychologist; participated in the Gormaglut investigation.

A. Pendragon: British commando turned Lazlo field agent

That bother anyone?

Lots of folks I know hit that time frame

Aug 9th - a cousin of mine

Aug 13th - My Father

Aug 15th - My friend's (really hot) sister

Aug 17th - My friend

Aug 18th - My sister

Aug 19th - Me

My Friend and his sister have a bunch of friends with August BDays that I beleive put together a slid string fromt he 12th to the 19th

The Gemini is no longer alone. :D

The Sitting Room.

i was on a Sherlock Holmes kick when drawing up the character, so i made the great detective his hero and inspiration.

Any chance Mr. E will be activated again? We could use all the help (posters) we could get (and I enjoy seeing people I can put a face to :)).

as soon as i can invent a few stories to explain his absence. he's ben inactive for quite a while (since about 3 months after the start, actually), so i'd need to be ready to explain things. :)

i'm currently leaning towards the idea that he got caught up in investigating one of his conspiracy interests, and has been quiet to avoid suspicion.

the main issue is my own interest. i stopped posting because we had a deluge of rather silly and stupid posts, and i found myself unable to start a decent conversation without it devolving into rather inane warstories and comments. that i found myself playing the role of the debunker in so many threads didn't help. (usually people with good intentions but a lack of scientific understanding. i mean, really, a conspiracy theory about scientists planning to blow up the sun?

frankly though, i should have expected such from a new forum, but the damage had been done. so now i have to start off with a pretty good premise to avoid the insanity. :)

good point. and your suggestion rings true. i made Mr. E in the classical parapsychologist theme, more of a detective than a 'peter venkman'. :) (more like Egon or Ray Stantz)

the boards are filled with the more 'Real Ghostbusters', "act now, ask investigate later' types. while that may make good RPG games, having to deal with it is hard. i never saw BTS as being a 'heroic' game, so the players acting such throw me off.

of course, part of it is that i never did BTS role play till then, so i was trying to find my feet. :-?

i''ll see what i can do about posting.

having been in such kinds of debates, if a discussion devolves into violence, it was not intellegent, much less intellectual...

It started as intellectual anyway - then someone mentioned politics.

This is a VERY cool idea; I love the concept of the pictures.

I do have a technical question however. I'm kind of ignorant with boards and the finer points of posting.

How are you linking the pics to the names?

Posted: Fri Sep 21, 2007 5:57 pm

(url=webaddress)Name(/url)

Put in a real address, and swap the parethesis for brackets [].

Yeah, you can see him more clearly in the first picture, but it doesn't capture his ... Berttitude like the second one does.

Other contenders: Turtleocity, Bertliness.

I was also thinking about adjusting the categories. Instead of Active, Inactive, and Deceased; maybe Lazlo Agents, Society Members, My Three Russians, People with Possession Problems/Vampiric Issues, Studly Eggheads... any ideas?

(I have been called Smooth Criminal before. ;) )

I thought you'd appreciate the additional picture.

I like it because it's not a side of him one would normally expect to see. Monk robes, sure; commando gear, okay; but a club hopping Shaolin Masta? I've used this picture before, and considered it here, but it doesn't capture his intelligence or his sense of style. It isn't as subtle, but once the foolios have rolled initiative, it is a useful reminder to opponents that "it's on like Donkey Kong," (as my Drill Sergeants would say.)

**
By the way, did you hear about that mental institution? It went up in a blaze of Turtleocity.
