Adam of the Old Kingdom - Down but not out.
Posting this for you lot who remember Adam of the Old Kindom. He does still post here on the odd (very odd for Adam...) occasion.
I only just found out today that he was involved in a motorcycle accident last friday. He and his g/f were riding down south to a for party that was being held on the saturday.
They were going down on the g/fs bike (which she reciently just bought....), with Adam riding, g/f pillion.
They were heading down the road, 100kph (about 63mph for you Yanks), when Australia's favourate marsupial hopped out infront of them.
Yeah, they hit a kangaroo at 100kph.... Ouch.
The g/f broke one of the bones in her leg (not sure which one, leg or bone), bad enough that she needed a pin and will need a skin graft. She'll be in hospital for a couple more weeks.
Adam did in his left (?) knee. He split the knee cap in half, and also did in the associated tendons. They have reattached the knee cap and will have a wire holding it in place for aroudn 3 months. He'll be back home this comming sunday.
And I'm sure they both have many cuts, bruises and abrasions (especially the latter). Apparently Adam did the superman thing down the road on his stomach, though he remembers being on his back the most.
[Mods - Posting this both in Sound Off, Palladium Fantasy & Rifts boards , as those are the places he posted the most]

Ouch - I know Adam from a different board (see the sig as to the where - and I linked this post over there rather than just cutting-and-pasting to let everybody over there know) and this is definitely not good news.
Here's hoping that he and his lady love have speedy recoveries.

"Things aren't what they used to be" is the rallying cry of small minds. When men say things used to be better, they invariably mean they were better for them, because they were young, and had all their hopes intact. The world is bound to look a darker place as you slide into the grave.

Good to hear he wasn't more seriously injured. Why doesn't he post as much as he use to?
God says he loves me, but I suspect he's just in it for the sex

I would assume so, it's illegal in Australia to ride without a helmet, even a bicycle.Prince Artemis wrote:I gotta tell ya, I'm surprised that a split cap was the worst of his injuries at those speeds. I take it he was wearing a helmet? Anyway, best wishes to both of them
Sad to hear, which state is he in?
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".
Was talking to his flatmate last night. I'm not sure why, but his trip home was delayed until somtime today (being tuesday).
When he does get home, I'll get him to head over here to the Pall boards and let you know how they're going.
zob, this is in the NSW/ACT area. He was on a roadtrip down south (think they were heading for Batemans Bay), when they had the accident, so they were taken to Canberra Hosptial.

It's good to hear he'll be able to go home soon though.
It's been some time since I've seen someone riding a motorcycle without a helmet. Even the bike gangs wear them, usually open face helmets.

Yeah, so as not to rain on his parade, the thread there can be seen here - and he has links in his post to somewhere else regarding more specifics with all of this...

His post is the last one (or at least, the last one as I write this).
