Mechanoids (Reprinted collectors edition) Attacks per Melee

I am having trouble finding how many attacks per melee characters get in this game (the 1999 reprint of the original Mechanoid trilogy). The various vehicles have attacks per melee, and the weapons have a number of shots that can be fired per melee.

Is it simply equal to these numbers? What about HTH combat?
