Good Day everyone,
What is the book reference or rule of thumb for a Ley Line Walker and such to learn a spell that is new to them?
In particular, how many days, weeks, and months does it take and what else do that get to do during the same day?
Can they be on an adventure the same day that they are practicing getting their new spell's casting right?
Is there a scale in the time it takes to learn a spell if it is level 7 compared with level 1?
Does the P.P.E. cost of the spell make any difference in how long it takes to learn the spell?
Thank you.

Re: Learning new spells
Palladium Fantasy in the Alchemist Section (pg247) establishes the length of time to be 2 days per level of the spell, and taught in total seclusion (alone w/teacher w/food being brought in) and spells are done separately (ie x2 1st Level spells will take 4 days to learn).
The Rifts Book of Magic Q&A section (pg88) repeats the 2 days per level to learn a spell, but omits the other bits (I'd still use them). It also makes reference to a Rifts Magic & Psionic Screen (not part of the GM screen on the Cutting Room Floor webpage, either RMB or RUE it's separate) and currently is not available from the website store (listed or otherwise). I'm not sure if it gets addressed in any other Rifts title specifically, RUE/RMB seem only concerned with the cost of purchasing magic.
This means that PPE is sort of related to duration of learning the spell as most spells of a given level have similar PPE requirements, but it also means you can not go off adventuring (ie do this in down time).
