So I got my Transdimensional book out and fired up the random roll generator and here's what I got.

Brought back by independent time-traveller to study effects of advanced chronal energy on past lifeforms. When mutation/evolution and sentience became evident, was brought in and raised with the researcher's own children. Now serves as an unofficial bodyguard on more involved "time jaunts"

Brought back by less scrupulous temporal scientists. Most of his life was spent in a cage, when they weren't running him through electrified mazes and whatnot. As the intelligence grew, an escape plan was formulated. Basically a prehistoric beast with human intelligence. Won't know what to do with freedom when it's achieved.
