Disney Plus to exclusively distribute Macross worldwide
I'm guessing Sony leveraged their relationship with disney from the MCU stuff to do this. At a guess, it'll have everything other than Macross 7 and its related ova's and films. (As those have major music rights snarls to deal with)
The article has doubts about SDFmacross proper due to HG, but given this is only possible because of the deal Sony brokered between HG, Tatsunoko, and Big West, i suspect SDFmacross will be in there.

Not really happy that its Disney who is doing this, but I will see how this plays out.

Surprised it went to Disney, if Sony is involved, I'm surprised it didn't go to their dedicated Anime Streaming Service/App (Crunchy Roll).

crunchyroll is going through a bunch of issues right now and removing tons of content and features,. and it's rapidly bleeding away users as a result. so i'm not surprised that Sony went farther afield. Crunchyroll's days are probably numbered at the moment
