Palladium Game Live on Twitch!
After some talks with Kevin, I have gotten approval to broadcast my fantasy game on Twitch.tv this Saturday!
Watch and get viewership up, so I can go back to Kevin with this being a great idea- and to get Palladium out on more media sites, with more of you participating!!
There will even be a giveaway for one lucky viewer- worth over $25!!
For all of those that wanted to thank me at the Open House- this is the best way to show your thanks!!
We will broadcast from 5pm to Midnight Pacific time on twitchtv
Info also posted on twitter

Awesome news! I'll be logged on for at least part of the broadcast! (Gotta a Scout campout to go to that night if the weather isn't too bad.)

Why did you have to get permission from Kevin to show your game? If you used your camera and taped your game I don't get why you would need his approval to do it. Just curious is all.
Sounds great! I'm all for PB moving into the new century. I'll be watching.

Although maybe he just wanted KS's blessing and not for mis-perceived legal reasons.

Re: Palladium Game Live on Twitch!
Getting support/a shout out makes sense, but as long as they aren't showing pages of text or intentionally showcasing piles of artwork (ie: breaking copyright/exceeding Fair Use), I don't think it's a 'need permission' kind of situation.
I mean, I've streamed a couple of board games, see people playing D&D (various flavours), etc. Video games remain a much more common thing on Twitch, but RPG's and board games are showing up more often week by week.
Just to point out that not everyone needs to harass PB for permission, at least as I understand US legal restrictions.
Plus people playing the game and having fun doing it potentially in front of a global audience is probably the best free advertising one can get.

Re: Palladium Game Live on Twitch!
As long as they are not directly monetizing the videos there's A LOT of leeway.

Re: Palladium Game Live on Twitch!
Far as I know Twitch is always free to watch (maybe some subscriber only streams?).
Paid features (subscriptions) are generally to remove ads (where applicable), get a higher resolution (if limited), get access to chat or just subscriber emoticons, etc.
And that's if the person bothers setting that stuff up.
Monetization is more for super popular games/channels/streamers, like League of Legends, DotA2, Starcraft 2, CS:GO, etc, where the games are pulling in tens or hundreds of thousands of simultaneous viewers (in aggregate or on a specific stream, such as during a big tournament).
For a stream that might get 5, 50 or even 500 simultaneous viewers and is only up a few times a month, trying to put those barriers to entry in place would probably cost them much of what possible audience they could have anyway.

last i recall zyanitevp is the guy in charge of the megaversal ambassador program.
not sure if it's a paid position or not, but if it is, it does make some sense to get the all-clear from your boss before this sort of thing, imo

I don't think the MA program has any paid people. It is all volunteer. Even the coordinators (of which there are 4) are volunteer... I think.

You are correct, they are all volunteers (and really cool people). However it still stands to reason that if the game is being broadcast as a part of the Megaversal Ambassador outreach that it would be good to get PB's approval for such. This also makes sense with this:
From what I understand, events at local game stores or conventions that are run by Ambassadors get free swag to give away, so that makes this broadcast very much sound like an 'official' M.A. event, and thus subject to PB's approval.zyanitevp wrote:There will even be a giveaway for one lucky viewer- worth over $25!!
Of course, Victor could probably settle the issue right now with another post with some more details... <hint, hint>

Well the streamer on the channel may stream other games in the mean time. You could always follow the channel and ask him questions on there when he goes live.

I wanted his blessing, and the swag. Plus I wanted to dispel the rumors of lawsuits. ... which is far from the truth.
If things go amazingly well we would monetize it, but only with Kevin's buy in.
Hope that answers the questions, and hope to see you all on twitch.tv this Saturday!

Been waiting all day, then logged onto Twitch and no game... Looked closer then realized it isn't on until 5 pm Pacific time. Darn those time zones!!!

My power died about halfway through the game (stupid thunderstorm) but the part I got to watch was seriously fun. I especially liked the fairy-dancing crowd!

For those who missed it, you can watch it at the link below. Don't forget to follow the channel to see when we go live on the next game or to watch me stream games like Dark Souls 2.

You kill my favorite, and clearly the best singer of the party on the first adventure? Who's running this game, JRR Martin?
For the love of Ra, maybe the priestess can rez him?

They must get to Cynopolis to rez him.... which is currently a suicide mission....
I loved Raulf as well, but death happens.... He will return as Ursus the Werebear on Saturday...

Ursus will exact revenge on his behalf. He will GORGE on the remains of ReSet until they have had enough of the GRINDER that is Ursus!

Not playing Fantasy tonight (next game on 11/21), however, to celebrate 200 fans the host of our game is giving away Fallout and other great items! 7pm Pacific to at least 12:30 am Pacific tonight!! Check out the craziness @The Drunker Hippo. Yes, gaming gets drunker as time goes on....
If enough people mention Palladium or A God Rebuilt (my fantasy game) I might be talked into giving away a signed copy of Chuck Walton's Art Book, Future Visions. Signed by all Palladium staff!
