The 37th Deep Ones ASC Sea Sqaud(Paordy)

Unread post by Kargan3033 »

The 37th “ Deep Ones “ Sea Squad is the Army Of The Southren Cross's version of the UEDF's Ice Guard.

Captain Eric Morgan “ Scurvy Dog “
The some what deranged commander of the 37th who looks, thinks, acts, talks and breathes Pirates.

1st LT.Davey “Pitcher” Jones
Davey is squad's second in command who is obssecvly on the hunt for “The one that got away”(The One That Got Away is any large maritime mutant predator) and has nearly crippling motion sickness, hence his nickname.

Master Sargent Morgan “ Whale Bone “ Petra
Morgan is the squad's *Heavy Set* bull dyke mess cook with perma rag/pms who is imfamouse for her *Fish Stew* which is 87.3% raw, bloody fish guts, she wears a tattered food and grease stained shirt that barely contains her *Ample* bust with a picture of a skull with a fork and knife in place of the crossbones that reads “ Head Cook, Death From Within. “ drinks like a fish and can hold her booze as well as smoking foul smelling *Herb* laced cigars to cover her nearly constent scent of bloody fish(Don't ask you don't want to know) and where an eye patch over her left eye and the large jagged scar on the left side of her face due to an unfortunate encounter with Cracker a mutant coconut crab that feeds on human bone marrow with large serrated pincers that is the size of a hovercycle with a thick shell that is resistant to most light to medium and some heavy weapons/explosives and is a prolific breeder, both on land and in the deep depths of the seas.

Sargent Mike “ Boom-Boom “ Sanderson
Mike is the squad's absent minded, violently claustrophobic, hydrophobic underwater demolitions expert.

Corporal Ted “ Ben “ Ajax
Ted is a near sighted, photo deficient deep sea trooper who is prone to decompression sickness due to his inablity to read his depth gage while in deep water and is addicted to “ Deep Blue “ which is a strain of blue/green mutant kelp that when dried and snorted or ingested acts like a strong euphoric and hallucinogenic and aphrodisiac as well as a diaretic.

Privets Orange, Lemon and Lime are defective Triolian Muses that the 37th took in/captured/rescued(depending on who you ask) that are not only deeply deficient in the intelligences department but also tend to go into heat every other day, Orange(For her hair color) has a voice that sounds like Lurch of the Adam's Family with strep throat, guargling with broken glass and sand, Lemon(for her hair color)sounds like a cat on meth going into a blender tail first, Lime(for her hair color) has a soft voice that induces nausa on a sub sonic level.

The 37th's bases is an old claustrophobic UEDF underwater base in the asian sea that is well past it's decommissioning date with an old and leak prone advanced nuclear reactor, hydroponics bays, fish, clam, oyster beds that are prone to random mutation.

The 37's vehicles consist of one SLV Beachmaster/cargo/loot hauler
1 questionable and very cramped stealth ballistic missile sub with faulty targting, ballistic systems and nuclear reactor

Mecha and power armor prototypes that where sent to the 37th instead of scrapped.

There could be but I was thinking more of the pun/joke Davey Jones's locker

Three generations of the Jones's get screwed over by the powers that be...Hmm could be an intresting spin on things.

Locate the base on the edge of a deep oceanic trench, about to fall off.
Their SSBN doesn't actually have any nukes; the crew just uses the tubes and their gas generators to occasionally eject their garbage...this has ironically saved them n several occasions from surface forces trying to depth charge them.
If they absolutely MUST have big missiles, then several of their tubes are sealed and nobody actually knows what's in them. Their sub can be an old Soviet-era sub or maybe a French boomer.
Some of their (mundane) opponents can include:
*A Zentraedi taskforce of amphibious combat specialists, mixed gender, who have established an underwater colony of their own in warmer waters in the remains of several submerged Zentraedi warships. Their commander, a blonde-haired OUTRAGEOUS guy, presides over a happy colony of healthy, fit, skinny-dipping females and males who swim underwater like whales, harvest the ocean, drink rum and other fermented drinks, and do the occasional act of piracy. THey're not particularly hostile towards the Deep Ones, they just annoyingly have more fun than them.

*Insane Greek Shipping Tycoon---He's out to get Captain Morgan after, when Morgan was still regarded as a respectable SC officer, waylaid one of his ships(the details of the incident are still up in the air). To the end of revenge he routinely hires mercenaries and fits some of his freighters out as sub-hunters to find and depthcharge the hell out of Morgan.

*East-Asian Pirates--_REAL pirates. They can be stupidly incompetent or ninja-meanass, but they want the 37th dead, because they see ANY ASC unit that they can't bribe as a threat to their operations. The pirates don't realize that a) the 37th is the ####-up unit, not some supersecret antipiracy taskforce, and b) the reason the 37th can't be subverted, or even CONTACTED, is because the ASC is effectively trying to lose them underwater.

I'd also point out that the Southern Cross has learned from the RGF's experience with Ice Guard; being assigned to the 37th is even more sadistic than being sent Up North; the Southern Cross makes transferees walk the plank and swim down to the Deep Ones' base...or, they drop 'em over the side wearing concrete overshoes. If the 37th is on the ball, and the transfers don't panic, they should find them before their SCUBA tank runs out.

Conversely, ESCAPING the 37th is no easy matter, since to do so safely requires at least an hour of slow decompression on the way to the surface. Any faster is to suffer the 'bends'.

It's that horrible bloated fire-in-the-blood, bees-under-the-skin feeling.
Like being a human club soda/bloody mary combo.

Things Likely to be Heard Around the 37th:

"Squid...giant squid...why is it ALWAYS giant squid?"

"This is, what? the fifteenth haunted or infested shipwreck or abandoned undersea base we've come across? I lost track after the eighth eldritch terror or deep-sixed biological experiment we had to deal with..."

"Oh dear, I feel another bout of claustrophobia coming on...AAARRGGGHHHHHHHH!!!"

"Are clams SUPPOSED to have TEETH?!"

"Just because you say 'booty' all the time doesn't give you permission to grab my @ss!"

"Okay, that's the fifth destroid we've sent to the bottom. Face it, 'swim like a rock' seems to be the pattern here."

"No, I'm NOT going to go out to see what snagged the main propellers this time! They're fifteen foot diameter nuclear-powered props and we're under 2,000 ft of water! That's what ensigns are for!"

"And this time make SURE all the hatches are closed before signaling 'DIVE'!"

"Our maximum crush depth? No, I don't know what our rated crush depth is! I thought that was YOUR job!"

"'Seafood Surprise'? I'd be surprised if it WASN'T seafood again!"

"Ahoy me scurvy-rats! THis is your captain spea-"
*"AGGHHH!!"*
"Note to self; don't wave me cutlass around inside a crowded wardroom on a submarine amongst me own crew."

"NO! IT'S NOT INTERNATIONAL 'TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY' AGAIN THIS WEEK!!! I LOOKED IT UP!!!"

Damn you take all the fun out of everything, what about a nitrouse oxcide/helum mix for some extra fun when the liferafts go POP or for a deep sea diving suit's air mix?

Damn you take all the fun out of everything, what about a nitrouse oxcide/helum mix for some extra fun when the liferafts go POP or for a deep sea diving suit's air mix?

Attracting the local predators with their blood. It's unsafe as is around here without chumming the waters.

That what the Deep One's Red Shirts, I mean Ensigns are for, they are to keep the predators at bay while the rest of the Deep Ones do the work/salvage.

So, in the 37th, 'chum' is not a term of personal endearment, but a job description?

Yes and it has very lousy hazard pay to top it off and calling some chum in the 37th is consider to be a grave insult.

At lest they are experts in skin diving however I'm sure that the reason they would go mad is because they are forced to eat Whle Bone's fish stew which could be concidered to be canbilism.

1st LT Jones: " Um Sir we have a problem. "

Captain Morgan: " What do you mean we have a problem? "

1st LT Jones: " Sir it's the new recruits from Innsamouth. "

Captain Morgan: " What about them, did they die already? "

1st LT Jones: " Umm no Sir, it's that they seem to have gone AWOL. "

Captain Morgan: " Really, when did they go AWOL? "

1st LT Jones: " Ummm the last time anyone saw them was right after lunch. "

Captain Morgan: " Mmmm, no worries. "

1st LT Jones: " You can;t be seroiuse Sir, they have gone AWOL! "

Captain Jones(With an evil smile):" Don't worry if the cloned Mega-Sharks with anti-matter power neutron cannons don't get them then the mobile smart black hole mines we'll get them, in fact I don't think they will make it past the twenety mile marker. "

1st LT Jones: " Umm no disrespect Sir but you don't seem to be taking this as seroiusly as you should. "

Captain Morgan: " Bwahahahah NO ONE! esp[ace from the island of Dr.M....I mean the 37th Deep Ones "

1st.LT Jones: " Shi-, very good Sir, if you will excuse me Master Sargent Petra has asked me to help with procuring the nessacry suplies for tonight's supper. "

Captain Morgan: " Very good, tell the sargent the squid rings neet to be cooked a little longer. "

*1st LT Jones running for his life as he sees the captain grabbing a man portable harpoon cannon with a manic twinkle in his eyes.*

Yeah, and it's Jones' job to reign in his CO on such occasions when he gets 'the rum in his blood'.
Of course, then he has to bail Petra out of the hoosgow for chasing co-eds.
He does NOT like either task, because neither person makes it easy to convince the authorities it's safe to let them out on bail, and it takes away time Jones would rather spend hunting a Melvillian allegory fishing.

That's not really and issue other then the time and paper work that has to be filled out to spring those two because of the hefty bribes that Jones uses to *convince* the authorites to relase those two.

But from the sounds of it, it would seem that Fate has a gruge against the Jones blood line to have ended up in such unenviable sittuations.
