An End of an Era
In about half an hour, after drawing in many books over several years, I, for the first time, will play Rifts. May Jeebus have mercy on us all.

This begs for so much stupid stuff to answer...
But as we don't know each other, I'll stick to an honest 'Enjoy, hope you have a blast!'

A good solid choice. Should allow you to survive long enough to figure things out.
I was raised to beleive if you can't say something nice about a person, say nothing at all. This has led to living a very quiet life.

Woohoo! That was the first character I ever played in Rifts!! Now I can claim a totally forced and highly improbable meta-physical link between us, thus totally validating my obsessive-stalker behavior toward you at the next Open House!!! I'm gonna have to change my sig to say that me and Mumah are blood brothers!

Next Monday will be pretty solid. The group is a great mix of players and characters ready and willing to make a good run.

Re: An End of an Era
It should be a hoot. I've been gaming with TGK for a couple years now, we just haven't played Rifts yet. And I also have Amy Ashbaugh in the group to bag on, since she's as much a rookie to Rifts as I am. And this campaign is interesting, since we are only allowed to use Rifts Ultimate Edition for now. The plan is to move through each book one at a time.

3D6×10 M.D. per attack coming from a mech with 770 M.D.C. probably wasn't a bad reason, either.

Re: An End of an Era
Of course, now all I can think about is a newly-hatched Dragon Hatchling meeting a traveling Glitter Boy pilot and befriending him. The two travel together and the Glitter Boy pilot teaches the Hatchling about honor. Over the course of time the two become good friends but then one day, the Glitter Boy pilot dies. The Hatchling decides to honor his friend's memory by donning his Glitterboy Armor and continuing his mission.

the harm? Well for one you might have been able to actually do some damage, instead of being outclassed by nearly every weapon in the game. I've often thought that a duel between dragons is more like a test in patience, with the loser the one who gets bored first and goes home.

Chicken. What would be the harm? Really, what could a player like ME really do with something like that?
the harm? Well for one you might have been able to actually do some damage, instead of being outclassed by nearly every weapon in the game. I've often thought that a duel between dragons is more like a test in patience, with the loser the one who gets bored first and goes home.
Really? Dragons are sick.
maybe they should see a doctor...

they have a decent amount of MDC, and depending on type, some spells and/or psionics, but when it comes to getting all dragony on something, they are better off picking up pretty much any weapon. Some of the new ones out of the RUE are a little better off in fang to tail combat, but not by much.

Re: An End of an Era
My first character was an Asgardian Elf leyline walker. As soon as I realized magic is eh.
I discovered the conversion book 1. Then.
Simon Greene Super Vagabond. I liked playing this character so much made it up to level-7. And kept a Scrupulous alignment!!
Intangibility, sonic flight, sonic speed, energy expulsion electricity, energy resistance, extraordinary strength. My skills were eh but dog fighting samas was epic. He wore blue and white cruaader armor had a force field. And used a Samas railgun. Gm let me dual wield pistols twin doyble barrel laser pistols. I even got hold of a cs missile rifle. Man I cant believe its been 14 years

Glad to hear it Mike. Just have fun with it and don't over think things.
I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree

It was advice. Sound advice as it pertains to Rifts.

That was why I am advising him to not over think things. Wouldn't want Mike to hurt himself thinking too hard

this being your first time and all...we'll forgive you for not overthinking the whole process. There are only hundreds of classes and races to choose from.
