Multiple Robots, 1 Budget
I'm curious to know if anyone thinks it should be allowable to create more than 1 robot with a single budget? I had a thought about having 2 robots as 1 character (along the lines of a human gestalt), and was wondering if this was allowable.
I actually went about creating a pair of robots to test out the theory of if it could even be done, and I had to use the largest budget available to pull off the combat machines I did. Granted, I spent a lot of money in areas that I may not have if I went with a smaller budget. And I actually came in about $150,000 under total budget for the pair of them.
Has anyone else done this?
Along these same lines, I don't have PP or PE scores for the robots as I cannot find how to determine these in the book. If anyone knows, I'd be appreciative of the informaiton.

There is the Robotic Gestalt in the rifters that you might want to look at.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

I've done it - it's especially useful for Exoskeletons and Transferred Intelligence robots - gives you one or more backups.
PE is irrelevant for Robots - they don't fatigue. They might eventually run out of power, but that's a different thing. PP stats should be in there, though (don't have my book handy to tell you exactly where).

Re: Multiple Robots, 1 Budget
I'm not so much worried about fatigue for the robots as I am the bonus to save vs. magic. Magic can affect metals, and they should get a save to "resist" the magic.
And I just looked through the robotics section again, and I cannot find any information on PE, PP, or PB for robots. IQ, MA, ME don't really mean anything to a robot, so I'm not concerned about them. Speed and PS I got - and purchased.
In the event anyone is interested, I would be more than willing to post the 2 robots that I created out of 1 budget.

There is no rule against creating multiple robots with one budget, if you can afford them. It probably does, however, take special rules to link them...like those mentioned above as being in the Rifter.

You can use the remote probe option to create a smaller robot powered and controlled by the larger robot.

You might want to take a look at the Heroes Unlimited GM's Guide, specifically page 12. The deal with the robot attributes is explained there, but I think I'll post short notes here, just to make the lengthy explanation short:
- IQ, MA, ME are human equivalent (you can roll these normally if using Advanced AI, or Transferred Intelligence).
- PS, PP, PB and speed are bought (use bionic prices and limits).
- PE and ME will be inexhaustible (unless an Advanced AI has developed mental faculties, refer to the above).
Of course, what you actually use depends on your concept, so if you want a low-intelligence worker drone, you might just set mental attributes at a certain value and be done with it.

Galaxy Guide has costs for Robotic PP and such IIRC.

Re: Multiple Robots, 1 Budget
They really do need a Robotics Unlimited, though, to get everything in one place and expand on issues related to multiple drones, costs of prototypes vs production models, etc.

Something. It is pretty bad when you have to flip through a half a dozen books when crearting a robot to get it the way you want.

Re: Multiple Robots, 1 Budget
There is a guy who is doing a "technology Unlimited" thing on another thread...perhaps he could be talked into it.
