True Atlantean Names

Unread post by LostOne »

It's been years since we used Atlanteans in our games. I was curious what names people have used for Atlanteans in their own games. It will give me a list of names for NPCs, as well as suggestions for players who need them.

I originally used whatever the hell I liked, but I tend towards Hellenic names these days.

Well we had two Atlantean twins in one of my games who were named Chae and Cyan. Chae was an Undead Slayer and Cyan was a Mind melter. I can't remember their last names, but they were very memorable characters. Chae went topless most of the time to take advantage of all her tats. Cyan was always up to no good, pranking the other party members.

Personally in my take on rifts I don't have true Atlanteans speaking Greek but rather Enochian.

At the very least a form of Sanskrit would be more appropriate given the real life myths that the proto-indo-european root race were Atlanteans.

A list of True Atlantean Clans would be sufficient. That would be more than useful. Clans, family groupings, internal politics, more on the Sunaj, all that would make a fantastic Shemarrian Nation style short sourcebook.

I like many of the Enochian angel names, thanks for that.

My group tends to pick greek names for the first name and sometime a greek name for the last name. Or we'll come up with a funky name for the clan.

I agree. it would be helpful to have more of a framework to hang your character background on. Currently it seems like we have that have clans and operate in small groups....The clans have clan crests. Would be nice to have some clan names and what crests look like.

I use Greek,s names.

I think a Sourcebook on True Atlanteans have potential.
it can give more info on Surviving Clans, both the TA,s OCC and Tattoos from Rifter can become canon.

What do you want to see in a True Atlanteans,s sourcebook?

Ah I love these threads. Haven't seen the Libson one, good catch.
Clan Bagh Dach (Argo Vinuh, of Clan Bagh-Dach, also known as Sir Galahad, a knight in Arr'thruu's Court [WB 3: England, p. 109])
Clan Archerean (Mentioned in Dimension Book 2 (Phase World) and Dimension Book 5 (Anvil Galaxy p. 92), as well as intermittantly throughout the Hammer of the Forge stories (Cassandra Acherean, an undead slayer, is a recurring character, and at some point through them there were a rather large gathering of undead slayers when they went after a vampire intelligence).
"Be strong and do as you will. The swords of others will set you your limits." (Marauders of Gor, p.10)
