Fort Cannibal

Unread post by MrMom »

Just wondering if anyone would be interested in playing a game where you are part of a CS squad that is shipped out to a Fort or base in the wilderness frontier. When you arrive you find that the only people left at the base are a few Psi-Stalkers and maybe some Dog-Boys. After a little while your squad of NPCs start to disappear one by one. After a short while the Players find out that the Psi-Stalkers and the Dogboys are Cannibals and they have been killing your NPC squad members and eating them.
Just a thought anyways

It's a good idea, just don't call the fort that or your players will suspect the plot.

To be Frank ( even tho my name is Lenwen :P ) I simply cant believe this little situation has not yet occured in the Books lmfao .. After all most small bases are heavy in the Mutant department ( dogboys and or Psi stalkers ) with only the key leaders being actual Human's .. or at least a mutany or something to that effect ...

I simply cant go along with the whole Psistalkers an dogboys bieng as big a fans of the Human Supremacy thing as the actual human counterparts in the military .. But as always .. I may be alone in this train of thought ..

I can see Kill Hounds doing it, they are not AS loyal as your standard Dog boy .

Not all Dogboys are loyal to the CS. In this case the Dogboys would be loyal to the Psi-Stalkers not the CS squad that arrives with the Players.

Precisely... but wolf-bred dog boys tend to follow psi-stalkers, due to a psi-stalker's psychic bond with animals (which, in many respects, psi-hounds still are). Thus, a psi-stalker projects the alpha aura, and the wolf backs down, and slips into beta, keeping the puppies in line.

I assume you've read Barry Lopez?

So do dogs and wolves. However, it's going to take a lot of bugs to keep them up and active.

In reading that whole thing about that entire invasion force ... I have to say only this ..

Personally the Hiveland invasion force was "handwaviumed" so they wouldent have to worry about the nightmare of the logistical support needed for that huge of a force ...

Thats exactly how I see that whole thing ...

My twist would be the Psi-Stalkers become dependent on getting the double PPE at the death of the next "meal" like a drug addiction. They get a taste and throw the rest to the Dog Boys. If they have been starved, they will eat it. Psi-Stalkers are slowly turning into PPE Vampires. The Dog Boys start turning their noses up at "regular" food for them.

My twist: Squads of "Cujo-like" Dog Boys with Psi-vampires as their leaders.

As the PCs prepare for another night in Fort Cannibal they here some low gutteringly growls. They see a Psi-Stalker with glowing red eyes and a twisted look on his face. Along side him are for ravenous Dog Boys. The next thing they hear is "Sick 'em, boys..."

Roll for initiative.

Actually Fort or Camp Cook wouldn't be a bad name, and it's a little more subtle. You could even have a history of how the camp was named after a famous Coalition hero - Captain James Franklin Cook, and it continues to function even today...or so they say...

Just off the top of my head, of course. :D

Exactly why I picked that name, yes.

Especially if you back it up with a nice history about the camp & the hero it's named after. The proud history of the Cook Company, and what an honor everyone in the Coalition considered it to be selected for that elite unit, etc., etc... Name a few battles in which their presence turned the tide, give them an insignia (like a pair of crossed knives :D ) and you have a nice package to sell to the suckers...err I mean PCs.

Edit: It could be a subtle homage to Kevin Siembieda. After all, I was going for a subtle homage to Captain Cook.

*claps*

Now, on the Fort Green suggestion... make its full title be "Camp Sgt. Lloyd Green." Usually just "Camp Green", you've got a Coalition hero who, posthumously, has a camp named after him.
