Re: any robot mecha power?
An idea that I was toying around with was to basically just have my players create super powered characters, but instead of the powers being imbued into the character, they were going to have power armor or even robot suits that they would pilot that had the abilities. In sort of an alternate setting kind of deal.
So if a character had Force Field, obviously it would just be a tech based force field generator. I didn't want to get too bogged down with actual plausible explanations for how these suits can have some powers, like any of the Alter Physical Structure powers (I would probably eliminate any of the liquid or gas forms. Either that, or just use some type of nano-swarm type of form for the robot, but the pilot and reinforced compartment is still vulnerable).
The suits would have a core set of stats (AR, SDC, maybe even extraordinary PS and PP), and the players would roll to see what is added to their suit. This idea was inspired by Mobile Suits (Gundam), Veritechs (Robotech, obviously), Vital Suits (Lost Planet [x360 game]) and Orbital Frames (Zone of the Enders[PS2 game]). It would take place in a very war torn environment (either some new planet that some type of factions are fighting over, or a future Earth with some type of corporate war going on).

So they'd be Super-Inventions from PU2?

LOL, crap, that's the one Powers Unlimited book I don't have. If that's what it sounds like above, then yes. Sounds like I just have to pick that book up if I want to run that game.

I think it's worth it. Lots of new power categories.

Awesome, thanks! That's another book I need to add to my list.
