Very nice update! Thank you for sharing these! Excellent synopsis of the War with the Masters!
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

Excellent synoptic commentary on the SC period!
Good mention of the role of offworld forces and the EBSIS involvement in the space war...

Well guys, my final drafts on Sentinels Conflict taken a lot of time, & I am divided whether to make 'em parts of the fictional Robotech Wars: Genesis series penned by Col. (ret.) Mahmoud Abbas or relegated 'em to Robotecha Encylopaedia section (just like Zentraedi Martial Art essay), so I choose the latter. In addition, I choose the fictional 'Dr. Jackson McKinney' as the main author for the upcoming RTPedia's Sentinel essays; in regards & tribute to 'real' Jack McKinney, the real life James Luceno & Brian Daley, authors of RT novelizations.

I know, my submissions is somewhat taken longer, but that is expected due to my commitment with real-life (full-time job, part-time degree studies). However, I'll make sure my submissions will be within one month span.

Below are expected essays to be posted on this very board in upcoming months:

1. Zentraedi, Giants of War: Brief History & Description
2. Tyrol: The Rise & Fall of Robotech Imperium
3. Karbarra: Brief History & Description
4. Spheris: Brief History & Description
5. Garuda: Brief History & Description
6. Praxis: Brief History & Description
7. Peryton: Brief History & Description
8. Wars of the Flower: Sentinel Conflict

& hopefully, 3rd RT War essay.

Of course, I also intend to post info from the defunct 'Southern Cross Recruitment Manual' - originally done by Nathan Babcook, but reedited format to conform with current RT-verse.

Look for more update soon.

Thank you for your continuing support to my work.

Fanwork by RT fan to RT fans.

EARLY HISTORY

To understand more of the Zentraedi origin, we have to delve a little bit into Tyrolian history, near the end of Golden Age in Stellar Republic era. It must be known that events transpire during this time period directly influence the development of biological terror weapons that later dominates a large part of the galaxy.

During 1300s AD, Tyrol is already a major interstellar superpower, coexisting with other space-faring alien species such as the Karbarrans & other Sentinel worlds. Interstellar trade is booming, military alliance between Karbarra Hegemony & Stellar Republic is the envy of the other alien species. Between 1274 – 1306AD, the Tyrolians & their Karbarran allies engage in a war against a common alien enemy, known collectively as V’loxia Empire that controls more than 100 worlds. The conclusion of V’loxia War is terrible & costly, as Tyrolians extinguish the V’loxia homeworld & driven the remaining reptilian sauroid V’loxia species to near extinction, save only for a small sauroid colony (of less than 55,000 survivors) that are given refuge in Peryton. This later lead to the subjugation of Peryton homeworld, as Stellar Republic troops invades the planet under pretext of being a V’loxian proxy. Appalled by Tyrolians action in the closing act of the war, the Karbarran Hegemony threatens to sever their military & economic alliance with Stellar Republic if the remaining V’loxians sauroids refugees on Peryton are harmed.

Knowing full well their military hardwares come mainly from Karbarra & Stellar Republic energy dependence over Karbarra’s Sekitan ores, the Tyrolian Senate decides on a new course, to exploit new & cheap energy source. Several scientific deep space survey teams chart the new unexplored territories in deep space, & in 1343AD, Azstraph – a Tyrolian exploration vessel, make planetfall on Optera in Tzuptum system. It is here that Zor Derelda, a young technovoyager discovers Invid Flower of Life & its subsequent by-product, protoculture energy source. This discovery & development of protoculture by Zor, the 1st Robotech Master, & its applications lead to several technological breakthroughs & a revolution in both Tyrolian technology & socio-politico sphere as well. Most importantly, protoculture’s ability to accelerate cloning & repair cellular damage that ultimately shaped the Zentraedi destiny.

As Robotechnology progressed thanks to protoculture usage in energy production, Tyrolian bio-science also benefited greatly from protoculture discovery. Improved agricultural products such as new modified grains & farm animals spread thoughout Stellar Republic vast colonies, but most importantly, the development into Tyroloid cloning revolutionizes & galvanizes the entire Tyrolian scientific circles. Through the discovery of zylonases (Tiresian Homonym: Zhailoni) enzyme, a biological byproduct of protoculture matrix (apart from energy & power production), these enzymes are used extensively in life-extension treatments for Tyrolian upper aristocrats, & also applied in cellular-repair medical treatment available to the masses. Most importantly, the zylonases application into cloning & corporeal reconstruction by Zor Derelda initiates the development of Tyroloid clones.

Through fundings by a consortium headed by Robotech Elders, & approved by the Senate, Zor continue his research in the subject matter, that later develops into “sizjentzs” (Tiresian homonym: sit’sentzs, literal meaning: exceeding slave standards) biological programme to develop artificially construct of living beings for use of manual off-world labor, most notably to exploit the Tyrolian vast monopole ore reserves widely available within Fantoma’s ring system. So in 1355AD, the new batch of clones are introduced, known as the Zentraedi, built upon modified giant scaffolding & modified DNA sourced out from spliced junk Tyroloid DNA. These super slaves are herded to the off-world mining facilities, & prove to be cheap living constructs & source of free labor for the Republic. However, Zor’s colleagues, ie the Robotech Elders, have different agenda for these goliaths.

By strategically placing Zentrans in the Stellar Republic’s all-important & burgeoning monopole mining & production centers near Fantoma orbit & others outer Valivarre star system, Robotech Elders consortium successfully win a contract to become military contractors in charge of security operations of these vital facilities. It is not long before Zentraedi task from simple off-world labor to police & guard duties change dramatically, the Robotech consortium secretly over-produced the Zentraedi slaves as supplies outgrow the demands. Throughout secret bases all over Tyrol & other Fantoma satellites, Stonol & Falcaro, the Zentrans are transformed into footsoldiers armed only with laser weapons & body armor. These goliath troopers are trained to be merciless killing machines, through false memory engrams & neural reprogramming, the Zentrans are taught to fight & die under the Robotech Elders (later on, Robotech Masters).

However in 1361AD, eugenics cloning secret experiments conducted by Robotech consortium in creating triumvirate clone societies is laid bare in special investigation ordered by the Senate. The Senate & Stellar Republic populaces are aghast at the inhumane experiments that lead to the Senate in banning future Zentraedi production & subsequent Robotech consortium assets to be repossessed by Republican troops. Robotech Elders & their proxies, the Robotech Masters immediately orders their Zentraedi warriors stomping all around Tyrol & its capital Tiresia in apparent coup de tat & holds the Senate under house arrest. Through out Stellar Republic, Zentran troopers capture Republican military nerve operation centers & administration centers. Despite heavy military engagements, the entire Republican forces are defeated soundly in all four corners of the Stellar Republic. The victorious Elders proclaim from Tiresia as new Empire is borne, Tyrolian Mercantile Empire, with the Zentraedi as its vanguard.

ZENTRAEDI HISTORY & DESCRIPTION Part 02

Unread post by Protoculture »

ZENTRAEDI: TOOL OF WAR

The normal average Zentraedi height is 9.0 – 10 m tall, clearly giving this giant race substantial superior edge against lesser smaller micronian (Tiresian homonym: miclone, Zentran homonym: microns / micronne) species. Their modified genes allows aggressive hormones production that stimulate violent tendencies during battle, allowing temporary exposure to space environs, most notably, the ability of being micronised to normal Tyroloid / micronian size. Complete with false engrams & mental neural reprogramming, a newly borne Zentran immediately grasps complete language structure, Zentran Spartan-like culture, basic survival & martial art skill (Diwgadras’U), more importantly, basic tactical infantry military skills. Furthermore, a Zentran also mentally conditioned to serve, fight & die selflessly for the glory of the Robotech Masters & the Imperium, in which encoded as the Imperative dogma, indoctrinated in every neural engrams within each Zentraedi.

The early phase of Zentraedi induction into Imperium military are nothing more than glorified giant armored infantry troopers armed with several hand-held infantry weaponries. Normal Tyrolian military units continue to dominate aerospace theatre & mechanized terrestrial force, with Zentraedi providing heavy infantry support. This traditional infantry shock troop role changes over time as new heavily armored Zentraedi Heavy Assault Walkers mecha are introduced as the main element for the 1st mechanized Zentraedi units. As Robotechnology progressed over the centuries, more advanced infantry mechas & aerospace fighters are introduced into Zentraedi Regular Armies to replace obsolete terror weapons. Within 3 centuries after Zentraedi are first introduced, the entire Zentraedi military powerhouse has by that time totally mechanized & replaced frontline Tyrolian units with now the Zentraedi practically mastered every field of military engagement either terrestrial campaigns to aerospace mecha warfare.

What is more important would be the Zentraedi armada. In its early days, Robotech Elders commissioned huge naval carriers that ferried large numbers of Zentran troopers. However, large obsolete carriers were further replaced with new spacecraft vessels such as destroyers, escorts, flagships & more importantly, newly Monitor class vessels that armed with Reflex Cannons, the very powerful beam cannons that make Zentraedi Armada unbeatable in any conflict. Reflex Cannons give the Zentraedi powerful edge over any other alien species in conflict with Robotech Imperium, apart from the enigmatic Robotech Masters themselves. In its greatest height, Zentraedi Armada encompasses 5.8 million spacecrafts of various classes, which includes the 1 million ships of elite Adoclass Imperial Fleet & 4.8 million ships of Gorg BoDolza Fleet (Dolza’s Grand Fleet). However, apart from billions of hardhitting mechas & millions of spacecrafts, the near perfect efficiency in new troop cloning & mecha production plus spacecraft manufacturing solely for the Zentraedi Regular Armies increased hundredfold as terrestrial production facilities shifted to mobile automated factory satellites carved out from huge asteroids. These mobile centers transform the Zentraedi society ultimately to become spacefaring military civilization that served the Robotech Masters wills across the vast Imperium interstellar territories.

Zentraedi in the early phase only consisted of male clones known as Zentrans. Upon stepping out of the cloning vat (literally) at precocious age (equivalent to Terran years) of 16 years old, they become the expendable warrior-slave class that Masters willing to sacrifice & cheaply produced. A normal Zentran trooper will only survived for 3 years if he is lucky enough to survive the turbulent all-around grueling trainings & military conflicts until he finally dies serving the Masters. Those that survived the first 3 years will usually become NCO & later will be promoted accordingly through the ranks of Zentraedi military hierarchy. However, as most new Zentran troopers would not last even more than 3 years, & veteran Zentrans also dwindling rapidly over the warring years, new batch of specialized Zentran clone series were introduced for Officer classes, Fleet Commanders & Domillan Advisors. These specialized higher ranking Zentrans are given more free will & independent decision making in either tactical military strategies & personal initiatives. Despite these new measures, veteran Zentran troopers can still moved up until reaching the Officer or atleast a naval Captain through manual promotion based on merit or experience. However, the Zentraedi Supreme Commander Dolza, 101st Assault Combined Fleet Commander Breetai Kridanik & his Domillan Advisor, Exedore Formo are an exception to the rule, as from all record available suggested that these three individuals are the last surviving clones of their series which dated back to the earliest series of Zentran miners clones.

In one of Robotech Masters eugenic clone experiment involving the warlike Praxian species that surprisingly similar & identical to Tyrolian species, new goliath Tyroloid bio-construct are introduced into Zentraedi race, the Meltran (or Meltrandi) – female Zentraedi. The Meltran DNA structures are based upon Praxis aggressive humanoid natives, & with the same mental conditionings & Zentran culture, the Meltrans immediately become the elite of the Zentraedi. Fielding specialized & the most advanced multirole combat mecha available for the Meltrans, the female Zentraedi become the core of Zentraedi Special Forces under 502nd Meltran Assault Fleet – Azonia Laplamiz Command with two of the most famous Meltran field commanders under her wings that includes Meltran Armored Air Assault Division – Miriya Parino Command & Meltran Armored Assault Wing – Kiyora Tekiva Command. It must be noted however, that Tekiva Kiyora & her Meltran Armored Assault Wing later is put under directly under Dolza’s command – Special Quadrono Taskforce. The inclusion of Meltrandi that occurred fairly late in Zentraedi history, circa late 18th century AD, added greatly to the competitive nature in Zentraedi race as a whole as Zentrans & Meltrans even in joint operations will mostly compete against each other to prove each factions superiority in battles. Zentrans continue to be the majority of Zentraedi, as Meltrans only consist of less than 1/10th of the entire race.

Greater question arises as how to control the already impressive military goliaths, who can by now may usurped the Robotech Masters & claimed the Imperium throne? To control the Zentraedi, the Robotech Masters psychologially impaired them by orienting nearly the entire population to the sole purpose of war to the exclusion of all else. The Zentraedi military culture had no arts, no learning beyond what was directly related to war; apart from fabricated lore & myths consisting of Zentraedi military conquests which factual history were embellished with Zentraedi ultra-nationalism & devotion to Masters Imperative. Not only that, even sophisticated medical & advanced technical skills (apart from basic mecha maintenance ie replacing depleted protoculture cells / ammunitions with new ones, adding modular spare parts to slightly damaged mechas or replacing damaged equipment with new modules) were denied to the Zentraedi – which restricted any advanced task with these skills to the automatic functions at special mobile bases such as the automated factory satellites built by the Masters.

In addition, the sexes were strictly segregated to minimize the chance of sexual reproduction which could profoundly alter the worldview of the goliath warrior race. To that end, the population was indoctrinated to view any sexual activity totally repulsive & dangerous to the very future of the Zentraedi race. Only Fleet Commanders & their Domillan Advisors are given vague male-female relationship within any primitive micronian species they encountered, while the rest of Zentraedi race never aware of such close gender contacts ever existed apart from the usual – mostly cold & distant with a touch of disdain – communication between Fleet Commanders & Field Commanders of different sexes who will meet up only in joint operation missions or joint military training exercises. In any case, in peacetime, both Meltrans & Zentrans will lived separately within their isolated fleets strewn across the vast Imperium.

ZENTRAEDI HISTORY & DESCRIPTION Part 03

ZENTRAEDI REGULAR ARMIES – THEIR HISTORY

As mentioned in the early sections of this article, Zentraedi started their military beginnings as glorified giant infantry troopers ferried around the galaxy in huge obsolete naval carriers. As Robotechnology progressed & centuries later, the Zentraedi evolved rapidly from the terrestrial heavy infantry support units to all around space conventional military society that become the Robotech guards for the Imperium. Previously the Zentraedi are controlled directly by their respective Tyrolian Battlelords of the Fleet (elite Bioroid Commanders) to support Tyrolian military units in any conflicts, but by large, as Zentraedi numbers multiply & more specialized mechas plus spacecrafts (properly scaled to Zentraedi physical size) produced, military directives slowly slipped & relegated to Zentraedi Field Commanders.

The oldest individual of the entire Zentraedi clone series, Dolza proved his battle management skills & superior battle tactics to raise above all the rest, was formerly a Zentraedi Field Commander leading legions of Zentraedi Infantry Corps before he was promoted to become the 1st Zentraedi Fleet Commander. However, by 1390AD, the Robotech Elders realized that their warrior-slave society has evolved sufficiently to be led by one of their own, thus creation of specific military organization to oversee their Zentraedi military operations known as Zentraedi Regular Armies become a reality. Dolza was naturally selected to become the 1st Zentraedi Supreme Commander, whose subservient only to Robotech Masters.

The Zentraedi traditional infantry role changes as in 1393AD, the Zentraedi with heavy naval support are ordered by Elders to defoliate Optera in order for the Imperium bid to monopolise the protoculture production in the known universe. The Invid world lies in ruins & devastation, as Tyrolian Mercantile Empire continues to expand its influence & with Zentraedi conquering a large part of the galaxy to add to its already impressive interstellar border. In 1450AD, Invid launches successive fold-guerilla terror campaigns against Imperium isolated colonies & border worlds. Zentraedi troop productions are increased tenfold in order to contain the Invid threat & mechanized units are for the 1st time introduced into Zentraedi military doctrine.

Huge Zentraedi Assault Walkers mecha, known as ‘Destroyers of Cities’ strengthen the Zentraedi military might. By this time, new Zentraedi naval vessels such as destroyers & escorts rapidly replacing huge obsolete naval carriers. To bolster the already mighty giant fleet, a new class of vessel known as Monitor is being experimented to complement the burgeoning Zentraedi armada. Zentraedi scout vessels patrolled the vast Imperium border, while Zentraedi Regular Armies, now the Robotech Enforcer for the Imperium, begin outright campaign of violence as the Imperium mandated the Local Group worlds to be subjugated under the Empire. From 1378 – 1450AD, Karbarra, Garuda, Spheris & Praxis (with early addition of Peryton – already under Tyrolian conquest during Republican era in early 1300s) fall under the Zentraedi gauntlet as the goliaths of war thundered on to fulfill their Robotech overlords’ wishes.

By this time, 1450AD, Invid as mentioned before, launches fold guerilla campaign that chipped away at outermost Imperium border fringes. The Robotech Elders identify the Invid as the main culprit raiding the Imperium protoculture supplies on border worlds, react with extreme prejudice by sending the Zentraedi for the 2nd time to Optera, no longer to defoliate the rather dying world, but to finally exterminating the Invid species once & for all. The arrival of the Zentraedi Punitive Fleet to Tzuptum system & Optera later precipitates the long-running future conflicts the Imperium will ever face, however, the Punitive Fleet embarks by orbital bombardment that practically extinguished Invid hives still grounded on planetary surface. Surviving hives, to Robotech Elders dismay, sported barrier shield technology & being lead by atleast two Royal Hives, succeeded to escape via trans-atmospheric fold to parts unknown. Frustrated, Zentraedi conducted violent mop-up campaign upon planetary assault on Optera, killing any surviving Invid factions that survived the planetary bombardment & wiping out any sign of Invid civilization on Optera surface. To deliver coup de grace, the Punitive Fleet irradiate the entire Invid Homeworld with final reflex missile bombardment, & leaving the now lifeless planet with its native species butchered after fighting the goliaths to the bitter end.

The Zentraedi exploits & outright savageries committed upon their Opteran campaign & atrocities towards Invid send outright fear to every alien race under Tyrolian Mercantile Empire’s subjugation. Talks & thoughts of dissents simply die a natural death as the Empire consolidates & expand to great heights, enforced by the gigantic & mighty Zentraedi.

ZENTRAEDI HISTORY & DESCRIPTION Part 04

Unread post by Protoculture »

CLASH OF THE TITANS: ROBOTECH CIVIL WAR

Most significant element in Zentraedi long war-torn history would be the event known to stellar chroniclers as ‘The Divisive Wars’ (apart from their epic struggle against ancient Invid nemesis) in which pitted Zentraedi Regular Armies under Dolza’s faction against those corrupted by cultural contamination. Suffice to say, apart from the 1st Robotech War that pitted Zentraedi vs Zentraedi, this early Robotech Civil War drastically affect Zentraedi course of history, alongside the Robotech Imperium as a whole.

In 1500AD, Zentraedi Regular Armies enforced Masters grip all over Imperium colonies & its Local Group worlds under its hegemony. However, winds of change begin to be felt all over Masters territories as voices of discontent, raised by Tyrolian patrician classes whose influence within the Empire have slowly eroded after the regime change back in 1361AD. The patrician class, supported by many ordinary Tyrolians whose traditional cultures & freedom of expression severely curtailed during Masters reign of power, longed for the Stellar Republic days. Riots are organised throughout the Empire, condemning Robotech Elders triumvirate way of life & their artificial triumvirate clone societies as a threat to Tyrolian culture & Masters Triumvirate dogma as heresy. Despite economic successes & glorious Robotechnological advancement that put Tyrolian civilization as the highest expression in the entire known universe eversince Robotech Tyrolian Mercantile Empire came into being, decades of under cultural & freedom repression has started to rear its rebellious face against the Robotech Elders throne.

The 1st Robotech Master, Zor Derelda also contributed to the dissent & schism within the Empire. Zor, under various pseudonyms, written several anti-Triumvirate essays & glorifying Republican political system has attracted Tyrolian societies strewn all across the Imperium. Thus, a concerted underground movement led by Tyrolian patrician classes & funded by Tyrolian merchant classes to freed the Imperium from Triumvirate dogma grew out of proportion. Now, Disciples of Zor, as they’re later known, grew large enough to threaten Robotech Elders grip on power. In 1519AD, several rebellious Tyrolian colonies with a number of Imperium coreworlds, supported by 2 influential Local Group worlds – Karbarra & Peryton – openly defied Triumvirate dogma by ousting their respective Robotech Colonial Governors & declared independence. This led the Robotech Elders to order 1/5 of Zentraedi Regular Armies (whose Armada by this time has grown to 1 million ships in total) fleet to enforce control of the rebellious colonies.

This Zentraedi Taskforce, known as the ‘Supervision Army’ with 200,000 vessels immediately folded to the main rebellious colony homeworld, & put the entire planetary system under threat of orbital bombardment. By this time, the rebellious Tyrolian colonists slowly infiltrated the vast Zentraedi fleet & introduced the goliath with the colonists cultures, within mere weeks the entire Supervision Army are successfully infused with cultural contamination. The Supervision Army Fleet Commander, now converted & committed to the rebel’s cause, openly defied Robotech Elder’s order to invade the rebel colony. Robotech Elders by now ordered Dolza to lead the entire remaining Zentraedi Grand Fleet (totaling 800,000 vessels) to wipe out the rebellious colony & their Zentraedi Supervision Army allies. Such edicts immediately galvanized the entire rebellious Disciples of Zor movement to declare open holy crusade against Robotech Tyrolian Mercantile Empire & cleansed the entire Imperium from perverted Triumvirate ideology & way of life forever.

The entire Imperium braced for the ideology civil war. As Dolza is given free reign by Robotech Elders to deal with the Disciples of Zor, the contaminated Supervision Army & any rebellious colonies committed to rebel’s cause, indiscriminate punitive orbital bombardment by Dolza’s Grand Fleet were always the punishment meted out against rebellious colonies. Entire Imperium erupted into war as Disciples of Zor sympathizers filled the Robotech rebels ranks, & with Supervision Army at their side, the Robotech rebels began their insurgency campaign with devastating results against Imperium colonies whose still loyal to the Imperium. Each factions often employed mutually assured destruction tactics, leaving colony worlds to ashes all over the Empire. Open conflict involving Zentraedi from both side between Zentraedi loyalists of the Gorg BoDolza Fleet (Grand Fleet) & contaminated Supervision Army most often destructive enough, spreading from core colony worlds to spill over the Imperium fringe worlds.

As Dolza’s faction moved on to the next planetary bombardment missions against rebel worlds & the entire loyalist Zentraedi Regular Armies thinly stretched out, the rebellious Supervision Army & their Disciples of Zor allies regularly concentrated their might to strike one loyalist colony world at a time. This *** for tat divisive war immediately reduced the vast Imperium major coreworlds & its important colonies to wholesale slaughter & devastation as both sides shows no sign of giving up their cause. Only Tyrol & the Sentinel Local Group worlds (Peryton & Karbarra are spared from orbital bombardment after capitulating to Robotech Elders demands) are safe, thanks to large security & military buffer zone created by Masters faction. However, just within two centuries, the entire Imperium fell into ashes, & entire generations between both sides simply fought for revenge & each faction determined to wipe their enemies to extinction. The holy Robotech war has become a crusade of its own, effectively making Masters faction & Disciples of Zor faction vying for control to surviving Imperial assets. Outright massacres & wartime brutalities committed of both sides almost assured the Tyrolian Mercantile Empire demise.

Tired from fold guerilla tactical campaigns & long attrition warfare, the Disciples of Zor & the Supervision Army threw caution to the wind as the rebel faction determined to win the Holy War with one stroke. In 1792AD, the entire rebel fleet folded directly to Tyrol as to initiate the largest invasion of the Imperial homeworld & reduced Robotech Elders powerbase. As Zentraedi Regular Armies stretched throughout the Empire, the Masters faction in Valivarre system had to rely to their elite Imperial Bioroid Forces to stem the rebel invasion. It was during this time that Robotech Master triumvirate unleashed the newly created elite & fanatical Tyrolian Border Forces to defend the entire Valivarre star-system as epic aerospace battle between Masters loyalists & rebels fleet boiled away. Both Imperial Boroid Forces & Tyrolian Border Forces (which includes new breed of Zentraedi Borderers) managed to delayed the rebel faction invasion for a little longer, giving Dolza’s Zentraedi Armada precious time to reassemble rescue Taskforce, headed by illustrious Zentraedi Fleet Commander of 101st Assault Combine Fleet, Breetai Kridanik. The 101st folded & caught the rebel fleet by surprise, & in an epic pincer move, the surviving Masters faction & Zentraedi 101st Assault Combine Fleet reduced the Supervision Army & Disciples of Zor into wholesale slaughter. The rebel fleet slowly retreated to deep space, & the Robotech Civil came to an abrupt end.

The Robotech Masters, now having usurped the Imperium throne in apparent coup de tat against the Robotech Elders soon after the war, proclaimed the entire Imperium is now under Triumvirate rule & order. Disciples of Zor no longer posed a definitive threat & reduced space-faring pirates & scavengers, struggle to survive against Zentraedi now all too powerful Armada. Because Dolza’s unrelented & merciless conducts against the Robotech rebels, he is ultimately given full reign of the entire Zentraedi Regular Armies with significant autonomy. As the Imperium slowly rebuild its devastated Empire, the Zentraedi are tasked to conquer new worlds & to limit the debilitating cultural contamination, each Zentraedi Domillans were given strict cautioned to their Fleet Commanders to avoid any close contact with any alien micronian species, with ‘shoot first, never asked question’ policy become the norm against any hostile species dare to cross the Master’s wills.

THE RENAISSANCE & INVID RECKONING

By end of the Divisive Wars, the Imperium undergone a Renaissance under tutelage of Robotech Masters. With more than 4/5 of the entire Tyroloid colonists were wiped out in the devastating civil wars apart from native Tyrolians on Tyrol & significant Tyrolian colonists on Peryton, Robotech Masters reseeded their Triumvirate Tyroloid clones to many barren colony worlds & frontier worlds in a bid to replace their loss native population. By 1850, the artificial Triumvirate clones effectively replaced native Tyrolians & Tyrolian colonists as the majority of Masters’ citizens reviving Robotech Imperium. This assured undying loyalty to Triumvirate dogma as the official religion of the Empire & native Tyrolians are excluded from any position of power within the ruling Triumvirate hierarchy & surviving Tyrolian colonists were shipped back to Tyrol, while those Tyrolian descendants on Peryton simply gave up their old ways & accepted the ruling edicts. Masters placated native Tyrolians with non-functioning Senate that ruled from Tiresia & Tyrol, & given them false sense of security by removing the triumvirate clone societies from Tyrol. Little did native Tyrolian knew, the balance of power is now in the hands of Triumvirate clones that now have repopulated the entire Imperium colonies & coreworlds minus Tyrol & Local Group worlds, assuring Masters complete grip on entire Imperium future.

However, Zentraedi also benefited from the Imperial Renaissance. The Zentraedi Regular Armies by now increased to billions of personnels with 5.8 million warships practically ruled the spacelanes. Surviving pockets of Robotech rebels had now become prey to Zentraedi trigger happy attitudes, & later generations of rebels are nothing more than space pirates who avoiding contact with Zentraedi at all costs. Zentraedi also by this time begin to enjoyed prolonged peacetime, with most military actions taken up by the Adoclass Imperial Fleet with the elite 101st Assault Combine Fleet & 502nd Meltran Assault Fleet become the forefront hammers against hostile forces. The rest of the vast & impressive Grand Fleet are tasked with patrol duties within the vast Imperium & transporting supplies via the vibrant trade route & stationed to border outposts strewn all over the Empire.

Meanwhile the elite Zentraedi Borderers already tasked to patrol outer reaches of the Empire to seek out new worlds & any enemies still hidden in the vastness of space. This indeed come to a pass as the Zentraedi Borderers Taskforce in 1940AD located the last major Disciples of Zor outpost & in joint operation with 101st Assault Combine Fleet – Breetai Kridanik Command destroy the rebel last surviving colony. Later, in 1947AD, one lone Border Fleet unit stumbled onto Invid outpost in Large Magellanic Cloud, an ancient nemesis long thought extinct by the Zentraedi High Command. This Borderer’s unit frantic communiqué was intercepted by Zentraedi Regular Armies units before the sudden destruction of that unit believed to be carried out by Invid forces. The disturbing reports forwarded to Dolza, who by this time saw it fit not to inform the Masters regarding the Invid’s sudden appearance. Dolza finally realized that Zentraedi Regular Armies as his own for the 1st time.

This time around, Dolza’s himself led the Adoclass Imperial Fleet in tow with 502nd Meltran Assault Fleet to deal with the Invid threat personally. The one million Zentraedi Armada arrived near Invid outpost of an icy planetary Tawkhan, however nearly all the Invid hives already initiated the largest evacuation mission, via intraatmospheric fold operation. The fold operation also unleashed the Invid greatest ace in the whole, anti-matter beam energy that coincided with the fold operation that managed to destroy the Zentraedi bombardment armada. The Tawkhan campaign begun with a large planetary invasion, as remaining Invid garrison troops & the Invid Brain that controlled the main nerve Invid Hive on the planet fought valiantly. The Invid defenses were so strong that the entire conflict due to doom the Adoclass Imperial Fleet, as 8 million Zentraedi personnels locked in mortal combat with 20 million Invid on Tawkhan planetary surface while the Imperial Armada simply cannot glassed the entire planet as Zentraedi Fleet Commanders refused to fire on their troops still fighting on the planet. It took a daring thrust by Zentraedi greatest ace, Miriya Paarino (of Meltran Armored Air Assault Division) leading half of the surviving Quadrono 16th Armored Battalion with Kazianna Hesh, the unit’s only surviving NCO -whose senior officers & its commander already fallen under Invid waves – to the Invid central Hive.

The daring & suicidal maneuver by the Meltrandi outfit allowed 10 regiments of Zentraedi Special Force led by Breetai Kridanik to gain an opening to strike deep inside the Central Hive & destroy the Invid Brain, leading the entire Zentraedi Corps to wipe out surviving Invid units to great success. The entire victorious event added to Lord Breetai Kridanik fame amongst the Adoclass Imperial Fleet, & marked the outstanding achievement to the greatest Zentraedi ace of all time, Miriya Paarino. Zentraedi 101st Assault Combine Fleet Domillan – Exedore Formo chronicled the event & added it as the 2nd greatest Zentraedi military engagement after the early legendary Opteran campaign. Nevertheless, the tenacity of the Invid forces resisting the Zentraedi might to nearly a standstill also etched forever to Zentraedi psyche, that the Zentraedi has finally met their match in fearless & suicidal Invid who gave no quarter to its sworn enemy.

By this time, Invid has relocated to new world outside Masters sphere of influence, & renew their aggression against Masters outer colonies, resorting to raid protoculture storage facilities & occasional strikes against Zentraedi military outposts. The Invid which itself has evolved into spacefaring society, since the introduction of their spherical hive ships has been able to fought & challenge the Zentraedi might, if only in some small measure, to a standstill. However, Invid threat was still sufficiently contained by the vast Zentraedi Regular Armies, & become minor nuisance just like any space pirates that from time to time raiding the Empire’s vibrant commerce trade routes.

1ST ROBOTECH WAR & ZENTRAEDI HOLOCAUST

The author wished here that readers to refer to the highly acclaimed essays by Colonel (ret) Mahmoud Abbas on in depth Zentraedi involvement in 1st Robotech War & subsequent Malcontent Uprising era. It is not this author wishes to revisit those two eras, as it would be redundant to write on those two subject matters that already widely available in other sources. However, this author will summarily try to explain Zentraedi involvement with the humanity in 1st Robotech War.

Much has been documented about the fate of the Zentraedi Regular Armies in Sol System. However, little did humanity known, the 1st contact between the goliath & humanity occurred in 1622 AD, when a Zentraedi long range Tou Redir Sloop crash landed on remote part of China’s Ming Dynasty. It was not known much apart from surviving Chinese records that stated local population in that remote area were terrorized by giants, & Ming Emperor sent two military expeditions to fight off the menace. The entire expedition were victorious, however at the horrific price as the Ming armies were nearly obliterated by giant enemy knights & terrorized by gigantic iron balls that walked & spewed fire & destruction (as recorded by Chinese historian). This event also lead to Ming Dynasty inability to fight off Manchu hordes expansionism campaign throughout East Asia continent later on whose toppled the Ming Dynasty & established new Manchu's Qing Dynasty. From Zentraedi record however, the missing scout ship incident is filed as isolated case, with all crew MIA. Clearly the incident is not worth the Zentraedi special attention.

The event in 1999AD that lead to 1st Robotech War occurs shortly after 1st Robotech Master, Zor Derelda’s flower of life reseeding mission was ambushed by Invid forces, who were beaten back by Zentraedi Borderers with the help of Breetai’s 101st Assault Combine Fleet that act as escort to the top-secret expedition. This single event in which costing Zor Derelda’s life & the missing of his Makross class monitor ship containing the last fertile batch of Invid Flower of Life & the last known protoculture matrix, immediately put a halt to the Imperium Renaissance. Desperate that protoculture shortages & looming energy crises that could destabilized the entire Empire, the Robotech Masters ordered Dolza to assemble the 101st Assault Combine Fleet – Breetai Kridanik Command to hunt the errant ship. After 10 year journey, in February 2009AD, the Zentraedi found the ship at the hands of micronian species in Sol System, thus initiating the 1st Robotech War. Unfortunately, the Zentraedi under Breetai were told to capture the ship intact & undamaged, throwing Zentraedi tactics of search & destroy into a loop & disarray.

In the early phase of the war, the Zentraedi fleet embarked on cat & mouse game against humanity refugees aboard SDF-1 Macross through its journey from Pluto to Earth. Then followed by series of miscalculations, Breetai Kridanik was relieved from his command of 101st Assault Combine Fleet & in his place, Azonia Laplamiz - Fleet Commander of the 502nd Meltran Assault Fleet taken the command of his fleet in Sol System. Sufficed to note, having a Meltran Fleet Commander & her own illustrious all-female Zentraedi fleet taken over command of the elite 101st Assault Combine Fleet raise the ire of many Zentran Field Commanders, most notably of Khyron Kravshera – Botoru 7th Mechanised Division. Politicking within both fleet come to afore as Khyron Kravshera openly defied & disobeyed Azonia’s order as Fleet Commander to the joint command of Zentraedi fleets in Sol-System. Her capability to command the best of the best of Zentraedi fleets are now in serious jeopardy.

The arrival of Bretaai Kridanik with the entire vaunted Adoclass Imperial Armada on Earth to deal with the unpredictable micronians on Earth almost given hope to Zentraedi forces still besieging the planet. However, a Micronian propagandist by the name of Lynn Minmay, a celebrity aboard Zor’s battlefortress effectively turning the entire 1 million vessels of the Adoclass Imperial Armada totally enamored with Terran culture. In mere weeks, in a virtual repeat of the event that precipitates the Robotech civil war, the Adoclass Imperial Armada immediately infused with cultural contamination. Distraught Fleet Commanders reported cases of widespread mutinies, dereliction of duties & outright rebellion forced Breetai to take one last desperate action to destroy the source of the problem, the SDF-1. However, the defection of sizable Zentraedi troopers to micronian refugees aboard the SDF-1 & most unsettling, of the greatest Zentraedi ace, Miriya Paarino has now mated with a micronian practically led Breetai Kridanik & his Domillan, Exedore Formo to formulate alliance with the Micronians.

Dolza, the Supreme Commander has long harbored dream to finally rebel against the Robotech Masters, found the incident in Sol System as an impetus to finally proved that he is indeed worthy of usurping the Imperium throne & becoming the Robotech Master too. Already the Gorg BoDolza Fleet (Dolza’s Grand Fleet) assembled under his direct command & folded to Sol System, leaving the entire Imperium practically defenceless. With 4.8 million warships strong, Dolza & the Grand Fleet embarked on grand military scale to eliminate the contaminated Adoclass Armada & their micronian patrons at one stroke. As history has shown such folly failed, resulted in both humanity & Zentraedi race to nearly mutual annihilation as both factions fought to the bitter end above devastated Earth. With the destruction of Dolza & his faction, the great Zentraedi civilization collapsed on Earth doorstep, leaving only 70 million bewildered Zentraedi survivors alongside 1.5 billions humans.

MICRONISATION & INTEGRATION INTO HUMAN SOCIETY

After 1st Robotech War, many Zentraedi survivors found it hard to integrate with human societies in post Rain of Death. Despite UEG efforts to integrate the Zentraedi by enrolling these former warrior soldiers into re-education & technical learning centers to better equipped them with necessary skills to adapt into human society, with mixed results. Many Zentraedi have to undergone micronisation, sometime against their willingness & much to their dismay. From a few disgruntled Zentraedi, their numbers increased as their dissatisfaction & grievances were often ignored by UEG representatives in Zentraedi population centers. Many turned to the old Imperative, to fight the Masters nemesis to the bitter end.

Many rogue Zentraedi under command of several hostile Zentraedi warlords, many of whom are Zentraedi Battlefield Commanders such as Khyron Kravshera, Zeraal Braedur, Tekiva Kiyora & Azonia Laplamiz lead terror insurgency campaigns against allied micronised Zentraedi & their humans benefactors. Despite elimination of these warlords by United Earth Forces by 2014, the Zentraedi malcontents continued their fights, only by now concentrated in several Zentraedi Control Zone. By 2016AD, the malcontentism intensifies as Zentraedi rebels have begun to adapt to Earth environment & humanity lifestyle. Now, these alien rebels no longer clings to the old ideals of the Imperative, but longed to rule over humanity & become Earth’s own master. The new rebel leaders such as infamous Zaria Kiyora & Seloy Deparra, both Meltrans, infiltrated UEF & gained insights to UEF force structure & supply route in order for personal gains. Zentraedi rebels begins to value capitalism especially the thriving underworld criminal activities to fund their terrorist networks, & most often than not, former Zentraedi warlord such as Lord Raijan Cyran & his rebel unit practically become new drug baron in South East Asia.

Because of heavy handedness in UEG handling of Malcontent Uprisings & later discriminatory policies led as many as 2/3rd of Zentraedi renouncing their loyalty to UEG & embraced the UEG Earthly rival, the EBSIS. Many micronised Zentraedi & even former Zentraedi malcontents found the neo-Marxist entity long running campaign “Military Service for Citizenship” to irresistible to refuse. The EBSIS valued their Zentraedi in high regards, often treat them as equal partners & allowed Zentraedi to continue practiced their Spartan-like culture, even permitted many Zentraedi habitation centers throughout EBSIS expansive territories. In exchange, these ‘Red Zents’ as they were known provided professional military service to their new Marxist overlord, often with fanatical & loyalty unmatched to any others, except to their former Supreme Commander Dolza or Masters themselves. In latter part of Malcontent Uprisings, it is interesting to note that former Malcontent leaders in South East Asia, Lord Raijan Cyran joined EBSIS cause & become Communist Party Leader maintaining his fiefdom in Indochina while Zaria Kiyora was promoted to become the 1st EBSIS Fleet Admiral. Many former Zentraedi guerillas in mid 2020s in South America, Africa & South East Asia were given safe sanctuary into EBSIS territories & swelled the Red Zents ranks.

As numbers of loyal micronised Zentraedi now already reduced with large number of defections to EBSIS nationalities, the micronised Zentraedi under UEG simply lose heart & many volunteered to become off-world colonists under Gloval Initiative Plan 2014. The massive colonisation effort are undertaken by Expeditionary Taskforce, which in turns needed large number of personels well-versed with space exploration. Thus UEG micronised Zentraedi become top priority for selection as off-world colonists & EF personnels manning the entire expedition. By 2022AD, fully 4/5th of Terran off-world colonists are of micronised Zentraedi & fully 2/3rd of EF personnels especially those serving in the Expeditionary Marine Corp & Expeditionary Marine Aerospace Corp & large numbers of Expeditionary Tactical Space Corp detachment are of Zentraedi ancestry. Away from the horrors of Malcontent Uprisings & now back to the deep space where they once ruled, the micronised Zentraedi integrated with their Terran colonists compatriots, begin lives anew on hostile frontier worlds or deepspace colony habitation centers.

As majority of micronised Zentraedi migrated from Earth to colonise the deep space under Gloval Initiative Plan, those left on Earth has successfully assimilated to human society, so much so 2nd generation of free Zentraedi simply refers themselves as homo sapiens. Intermarriages with Terrans further diluted the Zentraedi gene pool, by 2nd Robotech War, the Zentraedi back on Earth already extinct as a culture, if not the people. However, in deep space, as in case of Mars, the Zentraedi cultural heritage continue to lived on given Zentraedi colonists outnumber the Terran from 5 to 1, but slowly dissipates as 2nd & 3rd generation Zentraedi & mixed Zentreadi embraced humanity culture & identify themselves more closely with Terran pop-culture & racial identity. The older Zentraedi living in these colony worlds & habitation centers worked hard to retain some of the Zentraedi cultural heritage to some successful degrees, such as compulsory Zentraedi language subjects to all Zentraedi & mixed Zentradi kids, retaining Zentraedi Diwgadras U martial art, Zentraedi history integrated in school subjects amongst others.

On a larger scale, Zentraedi at this point of time, from 2040AD onwards, as a culture has now faded into history. As a people & as a race, the micronised Zentraedi have embraced humanity in the end. But that is different story to the now-forgotten neo Zentraedi, the Borderers.

NEO ZENTRAEDI: THE ZENTRAEDI BORDERERS

Special mention needed to describe a new sub-species of Zentraedi race, known as the Zentraedi Borderers of the autonomous Tyrolian Border Fleet that answered directly under Robotech Masters. The Zentraedi Borderers make up of nearly 70% of this elite Imperium Taskforce, most often served in far-flung of Imperium frontiers. These Zentraedi are far more fanatical in their devotion to the Imperative, practically each one of these Borderers are specialized Zentraedi clones that are far tougher with advanced altered DNA structures to increase their survival. These are the first advanced bio-androids, in which already become new Zentraedi sub species, far more superior than average Zentraedi clones, & on individual basis, the Borderers are on equal term with any average Zentraedi Officer clone series. The Zentraedi Borderers served alongside their Triumviroid clones (advanced Bioroid pilots) comrades, & may actually be micronised & become one of the elite Bioroid pilots serving the Tyrolian Border Forces (which is separated from Dolza’s Zentraedi Regular Armies or Masters’ Imperial Bioroid Forces). The Borderers are at the pinnacle of Zentraedi artificial evolution, & these new breeds of Zentraedi also given far advanced elite mechas for their mecha complement.

Not only that, specially selected trained units of Borderers are also specialized in infiltration, sabotage & assassination missions, known as Nous-Grandiel units - which are equivalent to Terran’s World War II Nazi Gestapo or SS units - that are feared by every Zentraedi Regular Armies’ personnels (either basic trooper even to Fleet Commanders). The Nous Grandiel units will most often infiltrated the Zentraedi Regular Armies ranks to weed out any Zentraedi that shown discontent to their conditioning or shown any abnormal emotions usually associated with early signs of cultural contamination, & any higher ranking Zentraedi Field & Fleet Commanders that harbors outright rebellion against the Imperative (which includes even Dolza! ). Periodical purges done by Nous Grandiel units against Zentraedi High Command officers suspected of outright rebellions (terminated via assassinations) or disappearance of an entire Infantry Corps suspected of cultural contamination (involved outright massacre in remote border of the Imperium) put fear even the hearts of the most staunch Zentraedi.

Only the veterans of elite 101st Assault Combined Fleet – Breetai Kridanik Command & 502nd Meltran Assault Fleet – Azonia Laplamiz Command (both are from Adoclass Imperial Fleet) from Zentraedi Regular Armies can matched the tenacity, ferocity & fervour of the Borderers, whom both Zentraedi fleets deeply feared & respected. In any major operations spearheaded by the Zentraedi Borderers or any military exercises, the 101st & 502nd are the only Zentraedi Regular Armies fleets allowed to support the Zentraedi Borderers (one such case: the 101st Assault Combined Fleet under Breetai Kridanik become escort fleet for the Zentraedi Border Guard Taskforce to protect the 1st Robotech Master Zor Derelda in his Flower of Life seeding missions) in their missions. However, contacts between Zentraedi Regular Armies & Zentraedi Borderers remained rare throughout the centuries.

It must also be known that the development of Zentraedi Borderers are the next phase in Masters development of biological slave warriors – to correct any flaws evident in average Zentraedi. Not only that, the Borderers also served as Imperium last line of defence against any possible foe, which also factors in eliminating possible rebellious Zentraedi units or Dolza’s Zentraedi Regular Armies if need be. Although the Borderers do not enjoyed the numerical superiority in both mechas & naval vessels that are evident with Zentraedi Regular Armies, its their far more quality mechas & advanced naval vessels (each equipped with Reflex cannons) plus all the best Zentraedi qualities available in their reengineered DNA structures that give the Borderers the qualitative edge over the average Zentraedi overwhelming quantitative factors.

BORDERERS, THE LAST GUARDIAN OF THE EMPIRE

As the entire Zentraedi Regular Armies disappears from every corner of the Empire in 2011AD, Robotech Masters feared the worst as possibility of Dolza’s leading the 2nd wave of Robotech civil war may become a reality. Tyrolian Border Fleet were recalled from far reaches of the Empire to defend the Empire from Dolza’s faction. It was from scant report that registered the large protoculture discharge that could only means the destruction of the entire Zentraedi Armada in Sol System that Masters changed their military objectives. By 2015AD, with the best of Imperial Armada containing only elite Imperial Bioroid Forces & all triumvirate clones, the Robotech Masters also disappear from the 4th Quadrant, with the Empire now hit by acute energy shortages. As for Zentraedi Borderers & their Tyrolian Borderers comrades, their orders are to keep law & order in these desperate times until the Masters returns with fresh protoculture supplies. Unused to policing duties, many Zentraedi Borderers & their triumvirate Borderers clones have to be in close contacts with Masters discontent susbjects, who by now resisting orders & old age emotion such as angers & frustrations creeped into the triumvirate societies all around the Empire due to Masters abandonment.

It is interesting to note that Tyrol alone escape such discontent, stemmed mostly because Masters allow its native Tyrolians to continue their cultured lifestyle & traditions albeit under close scrutiny. Lulled by false sense of security, & placated by their overgenerous Imperial Governor, the Tyrolian society as a whole become pacifists & ignorant societies, living off the comfort of the land, & even protoculture crises looms, ingenous Tyrolians simply reverted to solar powers & reactivated their monopole mining centers around Fantoma rings to fuel their energy needs. Of course, the now planet-bound Tyrolian natives didn’t even care about the fates of their stricken Triumvirate clones all over the Empire, as the ordinary Tyrolians didn’t have the affinity to the artificial clones that they secretly despised.

All over the Empire erupted into chaos & anarchy as rebellious clones, deprived of Cosmic Harp mental influence & hardships suffered because of acute energy shortages. Violent & bloody riots destabilized many major colonies & Imperium coreworlds as Triumvirate clones demanded Masters whereabouts. Security concerns & socio-economic situation all over the Empire now in the drains, as the Tyrolian Border Forces, still obeying Masters rule to the letter, keep themselves in their military installations either on planetary bases or confined to their ships anchored to orbital positions. It was not long for trouble to manifests, as protoculture crises hit all time low, the surviving protoculture supplies powering the Tyrolian Border Fleet vessels have to be cannibalized under orders of Triumvirate Governors to placate their clone subjects on many colonies & coreworlds. By now, the space faring Borderers had to leave their space habitats & be contend to live on terrestrial military bases.

In early 2016AD, the Invid civilization now formally declare Crusade War, known to most as War of the Flowers – against the weakened Empire. Invid swiftly overran Optera, their former homeworld, & from there, Invid Regess attempted invasion of Praxis, whose world are bountiful with mutant Flower of Life needed to fuel the Invid warmachines & feed the increasing population. Now awashed with fresh Flower of Life, Invid forces under Regent commited conventional war against the Empire, at first ravaging the defenceless frontier colonies before striking deep within the Empire. The Triumvirate Governors, with full consent from the planetary Tyrolian Border Fleet contingent, initiated zero commo operation, as last desperate measure to sever communication links between colony worlds to avoid Invid detection. Alas, it came to naught as Invid begin utilizing Invid Sensor Nebulae to detect any protoculture presence throughout the Empire.

Tyrolian Border Fleet, now reduced to become terrestrial contingents on many Empire colonies, fought off bitter bloody battles as Invid attempting full scale invasion to Masters coreworlds & major colonies. On many fronts, the Zentraedi Borderers fended off many invasion attempts by Invid forces, causing many casualties to Invid forces. Suffering major fatalities, Invid forces begin utilizing assault mechanized drones supplementing their manned Invid units, deeply tip the balance to Invid favors. The Borderers, now already besets with dwindling protoculture supplies to power their mecha, were simply too strung out & it is not long before these valiant Empire’s guardians fell under the Inorganics waves. The Invid dealt harsh punishment to every worlds they invaded & met with heavy resistance by Borderers contingents, usually by wiping out every last triumvirate clones in wholesale massacres. Invid bloodlust & merciless killing instincts at this time reach all time high, on par with Masters own excesses.

Invid crusaded on until by 2022AD, with its own forces now overran the entire Imperium extinguishing all signs of life, only Tyrol & Local Group worlds (minus Praxis, already invaded earlier by Regess’ Invid) are safe from ravages of the Invid, but still remains high on Invid Regent target. However, thanks to Borderers tenacity in fighting off Invid advances in every Imperium sectors have taken a toll to Invid capabilities to conduct effective conventional wars whose protoculture supplies also has by now running low to fuel Invid voracious campaign to subdue the entire Imperium. Invid crusades left the entire Imperium in shambles, far more devastating than the previous Robotech civil war of aons past. Invid terror warmachines practiced ethnic cleansing on a far larger scale to wipe out any Tyroloid clones, Zentraedi or Triumvirates otherwise. In 2023AD, the Invid forces finally located Tyrol & overran the entire Valivarre system with ease, & now proceeding to massacre the entire native Tyrolian population just like their Triumviarate cousins on many unfortunate worlds that the Invid ever visited. However, thanks to Invid internal schism between its two monarchs, the entire population on Tyrol were spared, as perhaps Invid themselves grew tired from such massacre. However, in the initial invasion, majority of native Tyrolians who’re pacifists in nature, fallen victims to Invid’s indiscriminate Inorganics hordes. At last count, only 280 million Tyrolians survivors survived the Invid violent invasion of their homeworld.

From Tyrol, Invid launched their expansionism policy to conquer the entire Local Group, whose alien worlds already teeming with mutant Flower of Life. Fearful of past experience against tenacious Borderers, Invid invasion of Sentinel worlds often turned bloody despite the token resistance by Sentinel aliens. The long fights against the Borderers on every inches of the Empire however has successfully taken its toll against Invid civilization & drastically reduced Invid strengths & manpower, so much so the Invid under Regent’s command had to rely to their Inorganics drones that supplemented his Invid forces. It is interesting to note as Invid already suffered horrendous casualties numbers in millions & wasted precious protoculture supplies in their exhaustive campaigns against the Borderers, such excesses & horrific tolls heaped upon Invid civilization caused Invid Regess to sever ties with Invid Regent. The entire Invid warmachines capabilities by time were already drastically reduced & will take a long time to recover.

ZENTRAEDI HISTORY & DESCRIPTION Part 10

PIRATES OF THE GALAXY

It must be noted atleast two minor colony worlds at the fringes of the Empire borders escaped the Invid wraths. In the largest evacuation missions attempted, the Border Fleet planetary contingents on both worlds contacted the last Tyrolian Border Fleet Taskforce consisted of a Makross class cruiser, 5 Seron Thoun battlecruisers & 2 Tou Salam border frigates to ferry out Triumvirate survivors to an abandoned Disciples of Zor – Tyrolian Republican Guard military outpost, in a star system containing a massive asteroid belt & 2 planetoid orbiting a dwarf star. The rescue missions were carried out discreetly to avoid Invid detection, at last count, almost 8 millions triumvirate clone refugees with 125,000 Borderers troops (of Triumviroid & Zentraedi Borderers) safely relocated to the star system. In order to conserve supplies, the Zentraedi Borderers simply undergone micronisation process, which also means making integration with their Triumviroid comrades far easier. Now, with their loyalty shifted no longer to Robotech Masters, but to serve the very needs & survival of desperate triumvirate clones on their hands, the Borderers learned one single thing from their former nemesis whom former base they now occupied, pirating.

At first these micronised pirates simply raiding abandoned Zentraedi outposts strewn all over the Empire to scavenge for supplies, however, constant Invid patrol nearly put a stop to their raiding parties. However, visitations to various Zentraedi outposts yielded weapons & food supplies, greatly ease the burdens of the refugees now safely inhabiting the reconstructed Robotech rebel base now known as the Pirate’s Clusters within the asteroid belt. Over time, the pirates grew more daring by pirating the Invid supply route who routinely employed their Karbarran captives to manned cargo vessels with fresh supplies of protoculture destined to Invid garrisons all over the Local Group. These raidings become a threat to Invid leaderships, so much so armed Invid naval escorts is a necessity to safeguard their Karbarran cargoships during the all important supply run.

The pirates also by this time begin to scavenge the outer perimeters of Masters former Empire. During these jaunts, the pirates met with Zentraedi loyalists survivors who are stranded on various star systems after fleeing the Dolza’s destruction back in Sol System. The surviving & starving Zentraedis are forcibly recruited into the pirates ranks, with such information regarding micronians & defections of Breetai’s Adoclass Armada to micronian side & after effects of 1st Robotech War, the former Borderers turned pirates come into conclusion that micronians & their treacherous Zentraedi partners would by now seeking Masters homeworld to exact revenge against Masters excesses, just like Disciples of Zor & now Invid had done. Such an expedition would only means the Terrans would have to establish supply routes & even deep space habitation centres for their troops or even colonies, which by the pirates estimations, primed for their pirating activities. Armed with coordinates taken from Zentraedi stragglers, now part of the pirating crews, the pirates retreated to Pirate’s Cluster with emboldens plan.

Smaller recon units sortied out to nearby star systems have yielded good results, reporting Terrans & their Zentraedi allies have establish deep space bases & colonizing new worlds. Much more important is that these micronians & their Zentraedi allies, known as Expeditionary Force has already established specific space routes to facilitate inter-trade commerce between their colony worlds & other off-world habitation centers that ferried vital supplies such as foods & manufactured goods, even more importantly, protoculture supplies. The now veteran pirates used hit & run tactics, at first terrorizing the EF trade & supply routes, but later grew more daring by conducting raids to EF colony worlds. Their enterprising criminal activities proven too much of a headache to Plenipoteniary Council, a civilian body that governs & administer welfare of Terran off-world colonies. Despite tighter securities, the pirates activities grew more far reaching as even on one of their long forays, managed to penetrate Sol System & raiding Mars protoculture storage facilities before escaping to deep space.

EF simply cannot pooled its limited resources to driven the pirates, thus Colonel Jonathan Wolfe & his infamous Wolfe’s Pack EF Special Forces unit in 2026AD are tasked to eliminate the pirate threats, while operating from Valivarre class SDF cruiser under command of Captain Kazianna Hesh. Tracking the pirates proved to be a daunting task, since the pirates captured often committed suicide before any can be brought for questioning. The armed conflict between UES Valivarre & the Wolfe Pack against pirates raiders grew more violent, as the pirates avoided capture at all costs, even sacrificing their lives & the pirate’s vessel if necessary. This fanatical zeal begins to raise recognition to UES Valivarre’s Zentraedi crews, but after intercepting pirates commo waves that the EF Zentraedi crews stumbled one important fact, the pirates they’ve been hunting down are one of their own, the micronised Zentraedi! However, the EF Zentraedi crews continue to serve EF loyally, treating the pirates much like Zentraedi malcontents on Earth, as a threat that must be exterminated for the greater good.

Frequent contact with pirate raiders increased tenfold as EF closing in on Empire fringes. As EF colonisation missions establish new colonies on abandoned Imperium borderworlds, this activities have not escaped the perceptive pirates back in Pirate’s Cluster. In 2028AD, the pirates raids to these new EF colonies startled the Plenipoteniary Council & EF High Command. By this time, however, the EF anti-piracy taskforce under Captain Kazianna Hesh of UES Valivarre begin to uncover the mystery of the pirates. The UES Valivarre Zentraedi crews begin to notice a specific term used by the pirates by intercepting their commo-waves, a particular term so dreaded by many former Zentraedi Regular Armies; the Nous Grandiel. The term most associated with one particular group of advanced Zentraedi, whose existence forgotten alongside other Zentraedi myths, the Zentraedi Borderers.

FROM PIRATES TO FREEDOM FIGHTERS

By December 2029, in a desperate attempt to eradicate the pirates threats, Colonel Thomas Riley Edwards with the full support of the Plenipoteniary Council, establish a small EF flotilla specifically to track the pirate’s lair & deal with the threat for good. This Taskforce, known as the Ghostrider finally track down suspicious activity near unimportant star-system, which finally identified as the pirate’s main base. The EF Ghostrider Taskforce threw caution to the wind as the small flotilla navigated the Pirate’s Cluster asteroid belt. The pirates immediately activated their surviving Border Fleet vessels in defence of their base, & sprung a deadly surprise attacks against the Ghostrider. The Taskforce were beaten back soundly & nearly annihilated before SDF-3 & its 6 Valivarre escorts (which includes UES Valivarre) came to its rescue.

The pirates immediately recognized the design features of SDF-3 & its Valivarre escorts as that of Border Fleet vessels, with the the close formation deeply resembled the formation of a Border Fleet Strikeforce, typically of a Sian Dereta flagship followed closely by Seron Thoun 6 vessels formations. However, the pirates begin opening salvoes after intercepting communiqué frantic calls between the stricken Taskforce & the SDF-3, knowing full well by now SDF-3 & its Valivarre escorts are of Terran origin. Still, even with the powerful mecha complement & frightful firepower that SDF-3 bears, they’re fighting against the Borderers, masters of war against the Invid, & feared by even ordinary Zentraedi. The hardened Borderers immediately issued war footings, discarded their pirates guises & activated the Tyrolian Border Fleet personnels. Even the Triumvirate clone refugees, now manning the AAA defensive system throw in their lot to support their guardians. Facing an uphill task, & perhaps certain defeat, EF Zentraedi Minister of Affairs, Exedore Formo broadcasted a plea to stop all hostilities. By this time, the UES Valivarre now under command of EF Fleet Admiral, Supreme Commander Breetai Kridanik immediately broadcasted Lynn Minmay songs on all available frequencies, the same tactics that subjugated Zentraedi Regular Armies nearly 2 decades ago.

The Triumvirate clones immediately stirred by Minmay’s music, which bring longings of the Cosmic Harp that has been denied to them eversince Robotech Masters disappear from the Quadrant. The Borderers, caught of guard of the cultural contamination tactics, fought harder still as not to be influenced by micronian culture, alas, because of their already long exposure to the refugees & the very Imperative they worship have been slackened since they took to pirating, their mental resolve cannot stand the Minmay’s musical onslaught. Under pressure of the clone refugees, the Borderers (by now successfully contaminated) open negotiations, with Exedore Formo & Supreme Commander Breetai Kridanik representing on EF behalf. Throughout the negotiations, the clone refugees & the Borderers learn that now Masters Imperial Armada has blockaded Earth & embroiled in a war there, while the EF High Command learn that they’re closing in into Masters territories. In one extraordinary sessions with the pirates, their leader, a former Border Fleet Commander, Tul Kridanik furnished exact coordinate of Tyrol & Valivarre star system, & suggested that EF Armada folded there & hold Masters homeworld as ransom & bargaining chip for future negotiation with the Robotech Masters to cease all hostilities in Sol System.

EF High Command immediately agrees to such idea, after concluding the peace agreement, in which required the pirates to cease all hostility against EF colonies & assets, plus also required EF to help relocate Triumvirate refugees & the Borderers to Tyrol, their former homeworld. The Borderers, now back to their prime, renamed themselves as Tyrolian Republican Guards, in honor of the Disciples of Zor’s unit whom military base they occupied for safe haven. As EF fleet still thinly stretched over the deep space, the Tyrolian Border Guards offered to supplement SDF-3 & its escorts with their Border Fleet naval assets. In 2030AD, SDF-3 & its 6 Valivarre escorts are augmented by Border Fleet contingent of Makross class monitor & its 6 Seron Thoun escorts immediately folded to Tyrol, only to find that the planet remain silent despite Zentraedi hailing frequencies broadcasted by both flotilla. The Border Fleet contingent immediately concluded the Empire homeworld may have finally fallen into Invid’s waves, which proven to be true as Invid immediately launch their Mollusk carriers from Tyrol to ward off the flotillas.

The heavy engagements to retake Tyrol from Invid occupation proved to be hard on both sides, it taken more than 3 Terran months that joint EF & Republican Guards military campaign to driven the Invid from Tyrolian soil. Ordinary Tyrolians immediately offered sanctuaries to their EF liberators, while the Republican Guards & the 8 million Triumvirate clone refugees are offered citizenship status by the newly created Tyrol Republic. At long last, the Zentraedi Borderers finally found a place they can now call home. The new Tyrol Republic has no standing army, thus it comes as no surprise the 125,000 former Tyrolian Border Fleet personnels become the nucleus of national Tyrolian Republican Guard & their naval assets & mecha immediately becomes Tyrol’s own. Not long after, as Sentinel military campaign ensues to liberate successive Local Group worlds from Invid Regent, Tyrol throw in her support by sending Tyrolian Border Guard contingent with TRN Tiresia, formerly Border Fleet Makross monitor to complement the Sentinel fleet.

The Zentraedi Borderers, still proud of their Zentraedi ancestry & traditional warlike culture, re-establish the Zentraedi capital city Zarkopolis in Rylac, abandoned mining colony on Tyrol. Zentraedi communities there thrived & many micronised Zentraedi EF personnels who’re still missing their Zentraedi heritage relocated to Zarkopolis so that their families can reconnected to their old roots. Unlike humanity who absorb & assimilated the Zentraedi as one of their own, the Tyrolians recognized Zentraedi as part of new ethnic make-up of diverse Tyrolian population. The Tyrolians integrated the Zentraedi & recognized their distinct culture as wholly Zentraedi origins, thus allowing the Zentraedi race to finally continue their rich heritage & culture on Tyrolian soil. After aeons of being warrior slaves to the Robotech Masters, these liberated special breed of Zentraedi Borderers that finally get recognition as equal partners by their former overlords, the Tyrolians. However, after more than a decade of Tyrol’s liberation, Zentraedi Borderers communities in Rylac, Tyrol & other native Tyrolian societies also suffered the same problem that besets micronised EF Zentraedi colonists, their youngsters embracing infectious Terran pop culture that invaded Tyrolian & Zentraedi lifestyle.

ZENTRAEDI HISTORY & DESCRIPTION Part 12

Unread post by Protoculture »

CONCLUSION

Zentraedi history is full of history of war & tribulation. From the once proud & mighty warrior slave that ruled a large part of the galaxy on behalf of their Robotech Masters overlords, later to be reduced to survivors trying to adapt to humanity & the other half trying to resist the Invid crusade, the Zentraedi as a people, as a distinct culture, shoud not be forgotten. It is disheartening to see Zentraedi cultural heritage within those micronised Zentraedi embracing humanity has become fast disappearing over more than two decades, as 2nd & 3rd generation of pure & mixed Zentraedi identify themselves as part of humanity, no longer wanted anything to do with their Zentraedi past. The deaths of Supreme Commander Breetai Kridanik in EF Opteran Campaign & Zentraedi Ambassador Exedore Formo in Omicron Incident marked the end of the last surviving original oldest Zentraedi clone series, as if signaling that Zentraedi as a race & a culture will faded indefinitely.

Fortunately, it took a special breed of Zentraedi to carry on with Zentraedi racial identity & proudly protects the Zentraedi cultural heritage – these are the Zentraedi Borderers – the last of vestiges of the Empire, & ironically also its liberator. With the help of Tyrolian Republic, finally the Zentraedi gained a homeland in Rylac sector & thrived as free & liberated Zentraedi. Special thanks to Commander Kazianna Hesh-Kridanik, Commanding Officer of Tyrolian Republican Guard – Zentraedi Command & the Mr Tul Kridanik, Zentraedi Mayor of New Zarkopolis in Rylac sector, Tyrol for their gracious assistance & cooperation extended to the author during the extensive research done for this endeavors.

However, to mark the end of these remarkable chapters, one needs to mention of past Robotech Civil War. Ironically enough, despite Disciples of Zor defeats at the hands of loyalist Zentraedi Regular Armies, Tyrolian Border Fleet & Imperial Bioroid Forces, the long ideological war theoretically actually won by Disciples of Zor, as successive generation of liberated Tyrolian natives & Zentraedi Borderers adopted the Republic system of governance & Tyrolian Republican Guards - now Tyrol’s military – was a designation adopted by Robotech rebels units. At long last, Robotech Masters & their Triumvirate dogma lose out the ideological Holy War, beaten not by their rivals, but by their own goliath warrior slaves & Tyrolian subjects.

This author would like to end this article for the memories of the late Great Breetai Kridanik & to the wisdom of the late Exedore Formo:

ALL HAIL THE ZENTRAEDI!

ZENTRAEDI LANGUAGE FOR COMMUNICATION

ZENTRAEDI LANGUAGE FOR COMMUNICATION

BY DR DANIEL HENWOOD, ZENTRAEDI LINGUISTIC STUDY – NEW MACROSS UNIVERSITY
EDITED BY DR JACKSON MCKINNEY, EXTRA TERRESTRIAL STUDY – NEW MACROSS UNIVERSITY

The Zentraedi langauge has existed in its present form for hundreds of years. Unlike the languages of Earth which have evolved & mutated over time so that a single language in the space of a few hundred years could be unrecognisable from its original form, the Zentraedi language has remained the same, mostly due to the Zentraedi's conditioning whilst in their cloning chambers which imprints the Zentraedi language into their minds.

The Zentraedi language itself is a simplified version of the Tyrolian language, the mother tongue of the original creators of the Zentraedi. Zentraedi is designed to be a clear & concise language which is essential for communication during battle. Using the Zentraedi language as a base point exo-archeologists have managed to decipher the writings found at many abandoned Imperium ruins.

It is a required subject to students majoring in Extra-Terrestrial Study – Zentraedi Culture & Heritage, compulsory to those taking Alien Exo-Archeology course. It must be noted that Communication Zentraedi syllabus is culled from extensive Zentraedi Language course taught at Tyrolian Military Academy, Tyrol.

COOL!!! Great research on the Zentraedi Language. You go away for a couple of days and when you return there is a veritable glacier of information to catch up with.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Fist of all, I would like to congratulate you on your work on Robotech Genesis. You might find it funny that I had some similar view concerning the fate of Sara Mars Base.

In fact, I wrote some notes about a series of RPG Scenarios called “Robotech: Classified Operations”! The first scenario, titled : “Operation: Northern Light”, was about the UEG/UN Spacy becoming aware of the surviving crew of the SDF-1 as they raided a top secret RDF facility on Ellestmer Island named RDFF Vega Station! Vega Station (late CFS Alert) was where the UEG had stored vast amount of potentially lethal biological substances found onboard of the SDF-1. So when Vega Station fell silent around the same time that a Tirolian shuttle was spotted by a Canadian Ranger, The RDF dispatched a team of RDF specialist along with the very first Robotech Mecha to deal with the situation as discreetly as possible. The outcome of the scenario would have implied that the shuttle escaped to Mars from where a signal would be dispatched to the Zentraedi Fleet. From Vega Station, all of the crew would have turned out to be dead and a few canister of a yet unknown biological substance along with all the food supply and fresh water would have been missing.

It is just a shame that I could not play that scenario.

One thing about you evaluation of the Zentraedi; I’ve noticed that you used the same description as in the Unofficial Robotech Reference Guide. References which imply the Zentraedi were created to mine the Monopole Ore from Fantoma’s Ring. Personally, I thought the concept pretty stupid but, without any other explanations, I came to accept… that is until I watched Animal Planet!

You see, I recall that the Zentraedi were mentioned originally to be created to mine Fantoma… not the ring! Fantoma being a gas giant this sound silly until you look it that way: What if the Monopole Ore found in the dept of Fantoma was more pure than the ring? What if the Tirolian had the technology to mine it from Fantoma but the capabilities to go deep enough to get it? On Earth, a diver can go up to 60 meters down without to much problem but any deeper, he faces deadly pressure problem that will seriously limit his/her capabilities to work under water. Yet, Whales can dive miles deep and come back up without any problem… My reasoning is what if the size of the Zentraedi weren’t due to increase physical labour but was designed to cope with the terrible pressure and gravity of Fantoma deep atmosphere? If this is the reason why, it would also explain why Breetai survived his exposure to vacuum.

As you move on with the description of the Sentinel’s worlds, I hope you will take into consideration that the Sentinels racers need to be redesign from the ground up! Indeed, in contrary to the McKinney’s novels, it is quite unrealistic that a few freedom fighters could manage to overcome the might of the Invid occupation. A more thorough campaign will need to be set up.

Also, I hope you will be able to better flesh up each world; because when HG introduced the Sentinels races, they just did a rough draft and from that draft, McKinney made his novels. Because of this, when you look at it under a logical light, it is hard to explain why those five world became major space power if they were confine to their own home world?

IMO, in order to become a major power, they must have some colonies, a space fleet and some trade routes to make their world a relevant power to be reckon with. And as I said on another topic, what did the sentinel’s world had as an advantage over Tirol’s superior technologies? What could prompt the Robotech Masters to decide to annex those space empires? If you except Karbarra industrial might, what did Praxis, Perython, Garuda et Spheris had to offer?

This should be looked upon very closely.

Thank you very much. It is for fans, especially RT RPG fans that I dedicated my fanfic essays, to provide in depth information regarding RT-verse to enrich their gameplays.

As for Mars Base Sara, I'm using the canonical RT WS comics series that portrays Karl Riber point of view during Mars Base Sara crisis.

One thing about you evaluation of the Zentraedi; I’ve noticed that you used the same description as in the Unofficial Robotech Reference Guide. References which imply the Zentraedi were created to mine the Monopole Ore from Fantoma’s Ring

Actually, pretty much of my fan-works have being inspired by Dr. Peter Walker, Aubry Thonon, R Morgenstern & Pieter Thomassen of UnOfficial Robotech Reference Guide. However, I try as much to avoid the purist view, instead choosing the Universalist approach by taking into accounts of various RT sources (Animation, RPG, Novelizations, Comic serials & Console Games) so that my fan-works can be enjoyed by RT fans regardless of their preferential RT-verse.

I agree with Dr Peter Walker assessment that Fantoma is a gas giant, with no applicable solid planetary surface. Given its gigantic size, every gas giant planets seems to support a modest / extensive ring system of their own, so monopole-rich ring system on Fantoma sounds logical even plausible. The gravity of Fantoma that practically phase locked Tyrol is one thing, thus reasonings why the Zentraedi were created as cheap goliaths off-world miners to mine monopole ores on Fantoma ring system sounds even more logical.

My reasoning is what if the size of the Zentraedi weren’t due to increase physical labour but was designed to cope with the terrible pressure and gravity of Fantoma deep atmosphere? If this is the reason why, it would also explain why Breetai survived his exposure to vacuum.

That is quite plausible too. But, that would involved changing monople ore that actually organic materials either dug out from solid planetary surface / asteroid & meteorite ring system to gaseous materials mined from Fantoma's presumably richer atmosphere (Fantoma, in respect is a gas giant). One can go either way, except pointing that Fantoma has a solid planetary surface like that of Earth or Tyrol, which not applicable at all.

Of course. I'm going the RT RPG way, which hinted massive liberation ala Space version of Pacific island hopping war of WW2. However, I'm going to limit UEEF involvement in this undertakings, giving more roles towards the Sentinels, taking cues from uRRG's Sentinel campaign - "Sentinels on Land, EF on Space" campaign versus Invid Regent. Which will indirectly explained why UEEF two Earth Reclaimation Mission understimated Invid forces on Earth & failed TWICE, miserably (Lancer's 10th Mars Division in the failed 1st Earth Reclaimation Mission 2038AD & Scott's 21st Mars Division of the failed 2nd Earth Reclaimation Mission 2042AD).

I did posted a reply in the other thread regarding these matters. However, I'll posted more detailed of that previous reply here with necessary addendum:

I actually being thinking of revamping Sentinels races. With my write up on Zentraedi already completed & revised Tyrolian history already in the final editings, I'm tackling the other Sentinel races with cues from RT Art III, RT RPG & RT Sentinel novelizations.

My description of Karbarrans still didn't strayed from that of the novels, but keeping the updated physical outlook of that race from Tommy Yune's retcon design, now Karbarrans are no longer comical mushrooms sprouted Carebears, but brutal, upright version of the feared grizzlies! Given that Karbarran are analogous to Earth's own native bears species, I will introduced several Karbarran subspecies, notably the Grizzlies (perfect for administrator roles & traditional Karbarrant troopers grunts), polar bears (subspecies that optimised living on tundra / cold environs), the honey bears (suitable to form the large Karbarran workforce) while the Pandas (enterprising Karbarran merchant class) & the timid Koalas (as religious subgroups).

Karbarra by the time pre Masters era should control & establish their own colonies, whilst not on par with Tyrolians atleast almost equal to them. Giving pre Robotech Empire Tyrolians may've been dependent on Karbarrans Sekitan ore (much like today's 1st world nations dependent to Middle Eastern petrol) before Zor's discover RoboGrail, the protoculture. The Karbarrans are an active traders, as envisioned by the novels, & I'm keeping that aspect. Its economy depended on trade, alongside heavy manufacturing of sophisticated machineries to day to day techno appliances needed for the entire Robotech Imperium (as Karbarra added to Imperium's growing colonised alien worlds). While Karbarrans may resent Masters overlordship, they may actually dependent on Masters for internal & external securities with their economies depended on Robotech Imperium vibrant trade.

Only after Invid crusade that Karbarrans become more militaristic by end of Sentinels campaign. In fact, I'm listing Karbarra as the next stellar superpower dwarfing UEEF in post RTSC era. You just have a feeling that Karbarrans simply spoiling for a fight, instead relegated to build & construct UEEF fleet for Earth's Final Reclaimation Mission. With massive industrial base & strong economy, with fresh vets of Sentinel hardened veterans, Karbarra should by right established their military might!

As for Garudans & Sphresians, I'll stay true to their original description in available RT Sentinel sources.

However, I've the original Garudan fanfic essay by Aubry Thonon (slated to appear in uRRG, but never materialisng instead) extrapolated from RT Art III, so I'll be re-editing that essay instead & added necessary details. The essay pretty self expalanatory regarding Garudans & their unique evolutionary & symbiotic relationships with myriad microscopic lifeform thriving in Garuda's bio-sphere (aka the 'Hin'). Garudans should be pretty much confined to their planet, however, by the time Masters subjugate them, the Garudans are being forced to replace the Zentraedi that had evolved to military powerhouse, to conscripted labors. It kinda like institutionalised conscription duties to all come of age Garudans, to be source of cheap labors for the Imperium industrial needs (not all Imperial needs are covered by Automated factories, while those seems to served solely for Zentraedi interests), possibly conscripted Garudan laborers may come in handy as workers in foodstuffs manufacturing centers strewn all over Masters colonies. After finishing their tours of duties, the Garudans have free choice to continue their contract or simply returned to their homeworld. I viewed Garudans much like 3rd world nations that depended on their migrant workers working overseas to remit money back to prop their labor intensive economy back home.

Regarding Spheresians, this unique species have something as valuable to 'em as that of Sekitan ores to Karbarrans & Protoculture to everybody else .... its their abundant crystals.

While planet bound much like the Garudans, Spheris economy depended on crystal exports, which are being used in Robotech circuits of every ships, mechas, & high-powered Robotech instrumentalities available in Robotech Imperium. Heck, Invid may've also favored Spheris crystals for their enigmatic Invid Sensor Nebula, & bio-organic network instrumentalities needed to facilitate smooth runnings of Hive complex. The reason why Spheris fall under Master's yoke would be to monopolise the crystal exports for Tyrolians themselves, though influenced on by Karbarran opportunistic merchant class cannot be discounted (Karbarrans are capitalists to the core).

However, I've also the original Spherisian fanfic essay by Aubry Thonon (which is slated to appear in uRRG, but never materialising instead) extrapolated from RT Art III, so I'll be re-editing that essay too instead & added necessary details from cues available from RT novelisations & RT RPG itself.

As for Peryton, I'm stripping away all the clap-trap magic boohoo completely. I'll be using references from another mecha anime, SDC: Orguss. Given Peryton is an odd duck in Sentinel-verse, I'm using SDC: Orguss, another odd duck to mix. Unlike other races, Peryton will be inhabited by variety of alien races, with the 'demonic' Perytonian as the original natives who becomes religious mystics living on Space Orbital Platform (adapted from SDC: Orguss) abandoning the planetary surface, Tyrolians colonists who warred Emaan gypsy-like community for control of economic pies & planetary dominance on Peryton surface, with surviving Sauroid communities (just like Chiraam / Humans versus Emaan & vanishing Sauroids aka talking dragons in SDC Orguss). Regarding the 'curse' thingie, sufficed to say, once Tyrolian colonists gained supremacy on planetary surface, they might want to challenged the original Perytonians for control of the Space Orbital Platform. Initiating Time Oscillation bomb that went awry, the entire planet was thrown into chaos as time - present / past / future overlapped, alternate realities crashed onto plane of realities & the entire planetary inhabitants trapped in their own planet as low orbitals practically become impregnable energy-shield encompassing entire Peryton (kinda like alternate Earth in SDC Orguss). Invid managed to penetrate Peryton impregnable atmosthere simply because they mastered the intra-atmosphere fold tech.

Peryton is an enigma, always an odd duck. Why would Masters even bothered to visit & subjugate that godforsaken piece of rock is particularly very puzzling. So, that's why I'm using SDC Orguss materials, by conjuring that Peryton was already part of Tyrolian Stellar Republic (pre Robotech Era) alien colony, with significant number of Tyrolian colonists (of Orguss' militaristic Chiraam faction) already occupying the planet's surface alongside several other migrant races (the Sauroids / tech-gypsies Emaans) competing for resources & territorial disputes since original Perytonians (the religious demons) exiled themselves to Space Orbital Platform. The original Perytonians that abandoned their planetary surface simply parceled out their world to migrant races for profit, kinda like neo real estate agents. After Masters created their Empire, they also inherited Peryton as part of the larger former Stellar Republic realms.

Expect massive revision on Praxians, which I'll be heavily influenced by GallForce anime, a GC: Mospeada cousin. GallForce are like space amazon societies (you might called 'em free willed Meltrandi microns), given the anime design lineage relationship with Mospeada, I'll be modelling Praxians based on the amazonian all female military civilization Solnoid Empire of GallForce.

This is based from the hints given by both Praxian descriptions available in RT RPG & RT Art III that mentioned Praxians were once hi-tech civilisation & their superiority in both cloning & anti-grav technology still prevalent. Not to mention, I'll be adding the Praxian birthing centre stated in the Novels, the Whaashi too.

To stay true to RT Art III brief description, I'll be extrapolating that Praxians would be the 1st space faring race in the Quadrant, even before Karbarrans & Tyrolians reach Space Age. They colonised sizable worlds nearby their star systems, & maintaining Spartan-like warrior cultures & militaristic ventures, with cloning technology to keep Praxians societies expanding. Applying Gallforce storylines here, Solnoid Praxians established their presence on the Quadrant, but didn't encountered other races, until they stumbled onto nomadic & parasitic Paranoyde (GF' Paranoids, equivalent to Mospeada's Inbit) & simply epic pyrrhic war erupted on both side. That wars consumed both sides with Paranoyde practically went extinct, but close enough before their demise to launch all out assault on the Praxian homeworld, devastating the hi-tech Solnoid Praxian societies. The trauma of such attacks are akin to Genghis Khan hordes rampages across Central Asian plains extinguishing several civilizations in its wake. So the traumatised Praxians simply transcended to post war holocaust, with technology & intellectuality gave way to neo-feudalism & post war barbarism.

However, the legends of marauding space Amazons may linger on as Tyrolians & other races reach Space Age, & Solnoid Praxians exploits may become stuffs for myths & legends for next generation of space voyagers. Only after archeological research & ruins of Solnoids warmachines in distant part of the galaxy yielded that such space Amazons myths may actually have a ring of truth, with the discovery of the now backward neo-medieval Praxis, Tyrolians technovoyagers have found a species so similar to their own, perhaps coming from the same lineage. The later Praxians generations may've been less enthusiastic, perhaps from racial trauma fsuffered when they encountered another alien race that nearly extinguished Praxian civilisation beforehand.

One can expect latter day Praxians abhorred space age tech from the collective traumas, but slowly contacts with Tyrolians & other races may have rekindled their desire to stamp their mark yet again in the known universe. Alas, that desire was cut short as Masters established Robotech Empire & subjugated Praxis, almost repeating the disastrous 1st contact suffered by early space faring Praxians ancestors aeons ago. Masters may have viewed Praxians as another type of micronians similar to Tyrolians, & may not meddle too much into Praxians affairs apart from intermittent contacts with the natives. Masters undoubtedly studied Praxians ancient space history with keen interest, & to prevent Praxians from inheriting that space age ambition that could put Praxians as equals to Masters themselves. Masters may also collected DNA samples from Praxians natives for their own template of goliath Meltrandis, perhaps emul;ating the once forgotten martial space age Amazons of fiery all female Praxian Solnoid militaristic space faring ancestors of current Praxians planet bound to their homeworld.

Praxis itself after centuries of that post war holocaust may now resembled pristine Earth, with hint of past hi-tech civilisation can only be seen from ancient ruins in jungles & that of forbidden Whaashi instrumentalities that still catered Praxians for continuation of their race, & the quirky neo-medieval cultures still prevalent to latter day Praxians.

Protoculture wrote:Actually, pretty much of my fan-works have being inspired by Dr.

Not so difficult. I already thought about it and got my inspiration from three different sources.

The first source was a chemical experiment in high school where a cup containing a highly saturated salt of sugar solution was left to cool down from its near boiling point; with a needle attached to a string inside… as the solution cooled down, you could see a crystal forming on the needle. Some students even manage to grow a good size crystal.

The second source was from the movie Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. The cloud city of Bespin. Primary producer of Tibana gas mined from the planet lower atmosphere.

Third source was the novel by Michael McCollum: The Clouds of Saturn (ISBN 0-345-36412-0) where Saturn holds the survivor of mankind who escaped Earth, now Venus like, due to a major increase of solar activities.

Now, bear with me! Form the only source we’ve got (McKinney) novel, the Monopole Ore is essential to FTL travel. I also suspect that it require a powerful energy source to operate. This lead me to believe that if the Valivar system was the only or primary source of Monopole Ore, the Karbaran must have used STL technologies to travel between the stars. Meanwhile, the Tirolian with their FTL drives could have managed to travel, with short jump, up to 20 LY. Once they encountered the Karbarran, the exchange of Technologies could have resulted to jumps of 50, even 100 LY.

Where am I going with this? Simple. I wondered why the Robotech Masters’ empire became so powerful after the discovery of protoculture? Was it because they finally had a power source that could make the Space Fold Drive possible? Or was it because they could finally get their hand on a source of Monopole Ore pure enough and in enough quantity to make the Space Fold Drive possible?

I remember reading in one of the McKinney’s book that the Monopole Ore found in the Solar System wasn’t good enough for the fold drive… so, I wondered if the Monopole Ore could have not been collected by the Zentraedi, from Fantoma deep atmosphere, by using a kind of molecular bonding process. Of course, in order to get to the monopole ore of Fantoma, the Masters would have to either use very advanced highly capable drones or a work force cheap enough to go down in a very hazardous zone and been able to face any situations. Why the Zentradi instead of the Drones? Because I suspect the Fantomas’ atmosphere is also very corrosive (Fantoma’s color is of blue-green meaning chlorine) so any robotic solution would have been slow, expensive possibly unable to react quickly enough to Fantoma’s environment. Heck they might even tried it before the coming of the Zentraedi.

HOMEWORLD: TYROL (3RD SATELLITE OF FANTOMA)
PLANET : FANTOMA
STAR SYSTEM: VALIVARRE
CAPITAL : TIRESIA

I) Valivarre

Valivarre is a bright blue-white A6 dwarf, twice the mass of Earth's sun, & substantially hotter at the surface (8300 K). Valivarre is large, at 1.95 times the radius of Earth's sun, & puts out sixteen times the light; & a higher portion of that is in the ultra-violet than one sees at Earth. Analysis of the star indicates that it is a mere 790 million years old, & it is estimated that within thirty-five million years' time, Valivarre will have become an orange K5 giant, destroying all life in the system.

Valivarre is located 1812 parsecs from Earth, in the direction of the constellation of the Southern Cross (RA 12h4.2m, Dec -62.12), & was the center of a vast interstellar empire that, at its height, controlled fifty million cubic parsecs & more than a thousand inhabited worlds.
Valivarre is home to twelve planets. The first three are rocky, hot, inhospitable worlds, ranging in size from a tenth to nearly twice Earth's mass. The next five are gas giants, the inner two being similar to Jupiter & Saturn respectively, & the outer three more resembling Uranus & Neptune. The outermost four worlds are composed largely of a mixture of rock & water & methane ice, larger analogs to the Sol-system’s Uranian & Neptunian satellites, & Pluto.

II) Fantoma

Fantoma is the fourth planet from Valivarre, orbiting every 2066 Terran days at a distance of 3.95 AU. At this distance, it receives approximately the same amount of radiative flux from its sun as does Earth, though the light is more in the blue & ultra-violet. Despite the fact that Valivarre is nearly twice Sol's radius, Valivarre subtends only a quarter of the solid angle on the sky at Fantoma as Sol does on Earth, due to the greater distance. Because Valivarre is bluer, & because of its smaller angular size, looking directly at Valivarre is several times more dangerous to the naked eye at Fantoma's orbit than looking directly at the Sun is at Earth's. Fantoma's axis of rotation is inclined 26 degrees from the orbital plane, and the planet possesses a formidable magnetic field. However, as Valivarre's solar wind is subsonic, Fantoma lacks the magnetospheric structure for which Jupiter & Earth are famous.

Fantoma is a gas giant, somewhat smaller than Jupiter, with a total mass 208 times that of Earth's, and a radius slightly more than ten times Earth's (64,930 km). With a rotation period of eleven hours & six minutes, the enormous coriolis forces drive the atmosphere into bands of high & low-pressure zones (like on Jupiter & Saturn), & a large number of storms are visible. Most prominent is Yev'evle, a high-pressure region near the Fantoman equator similar to Jupiter's Great Red Spot; this storm has persisted throughout the full extent of Tyrolian record-keeping. Furthermore, because of the far greater radiation input than on Jupiter, the atmosphere is far more dynamic & turbulent. Fantoma's atmosphere is composed largely of hydrogen, helium, methane, ammonia, water, & carbon dioxide, & as a whole the planet appears as varying bands of blueish-green & white.

A modest ring system encircles Fantoma, extending from 1.3 to 1.7 Fantoman radii, consisting mainly of rock fragments which range in size from dust to several meters in length. While clearly visible from the surface of its moons, these rings, which are inclined at most 0.2 degrees from the planet's plane of rotation, are not nearly so spectacular as those surrounding Saturn, but are still more impressive than Jupiter's. The most unique aspect of the Fantoman rings is the prevalence of magnetic monopoles amidst the dust in several of the middle rings; these particles have not been found in large quantities elsewhere in the Galaxy. It is possible that an object composed largely of monopolar matter passed too close to Fantoma & was torn apart by tidal gravity, & the fragments were incorporated into the ring system.

Fantoma is home to eight moons. The first two, Falcaro & Stonol, are small bodies of rock less than a couple percent of Earth's mass. Falcaro is extremely geologically active, as is Stonol to a lesser degree. This is due to the tidal pull of Tyrol, which prevents these two moons from being phase-locked with Fantoma. The third moon, Tyrol, is very nearly the size of Earth. Madrea, the fourth, is a modest moon a hundredth Earth's mass. The other moons, all further out than Madrea, are very small, at most 0.3% Earth's mass.

III) Tyrol

The third moon of Fantoma, Tyrol is the traditional seat of Tyrolian civilization, though the Robotech Masters abandoned the surface centuries ago to dwell in their artificial clone-societies aboard their orbital motherships, leaving the bulk of the populace on the planet below.
Tyrol is a somewhat smaller planet than Earth, with only 61% of Earth's mass & 82% Earth's radius. Tyrol is, on the whole, marginally denser than Earth (thanks to a larger core relative to the planet's size), and possesses a surface gravity 92% of Earth's. It orbits very close to Fantoma's equatorial plane at a distance of 2.4 Fantoman radii (157,711 km), completing a revolution every twelve hours & twenty-one minutes. Because of Fantoma's great size, & the small size of the other Fantoman moons, Tyrol is phase-locked to Fantoma; that is, from Fantoma's perspective, Tirol always shows the same side to it.

The most prominent object in the Tyrolian sky is Fantoma, subtending nearly 45 degrees in diameter. Eclipses of Valivarre by Fantoma are almost a daily occurrence on the Fantoma-ward side of the planet. Depending upon the season, Fantoma is visible even at noon. From Tyrol's perspective, Fantoma never moves in the sky, & its position in the sky is entirely determined by the observer's location on Tyrol. The phase-lock also means that Tirol's rotation period, or its day, is the same as its rotation period around Fantoma: namely, 12 hours, 21 minutes. Because Tyrol's orbit slightly overtakes Fantoma's rotation, Fantoma appears to rotate retrograde (from Tyrol's perspective), with a period of almost 110 hours, or nearly nine Tyrolian days. Tyrol's higher rotation period affects its weather significantly. The centrifugal force on the atmosphere is more than three times that on Earth, & the coriolis force nearly twice it. Weather patterns tend to be confined to smaller cells than one would expect on Earth, & much of the cloud cover & precipitation are at the lower latitudes.

Tyrol has no detectable intrinsic magnetic field; even if it did, it would be dwarfed by Fantoma's contribution. Fantoma's field is, to good approximation, a well-aligned dipole, so its magnetic field lines are seen on Tyrol as being virtually parallel to the planet's rotation axis. Despite the differences, two-dimensional compasses act similarly on the surface of Tyrol as on the surface of Earth. The main effect is that Tyrol sees intense aurora at all latitudes. The presence of debris from Fantoma's rings also makes meteor showers a frequent occurrence on Tyrol.
Fully 32% of Tyrol's surface is land, the majority of which is a single super-continent named Pae'rana centered on the sub-Fantoma point. A series of volcanic islands & several small sub-continents exist on the side of Tyrol opposite Fantoma, but that half of the planet is almost entirely ocean. Tyrol is somewhat tectonically active, as the other moons disturb the planet's phase-lock with Fantoma, but continental drift away from the supercontinent is relatively minimal, thanks to the Fantoman tides.

Much of Tyrol is more arid than Earth, especially toward the center of the supercontinent Pae'rana, but the planet sees all the range of climes and ecological zones Earth does. Indeed, Pae'rana's ecological zones exist in large part in belts, according to latitude. At the highest latitudes are arctic & tundra zones, then a taiga-like forest belt. Lower in latitude are the grasslands, & below that the equatorial deserts & jungles. Most of the Tyrolian population lives in the grasslands & steppes, & on the coastlines of the more temperate zones.

DESCRIPTION & HISTORY OF TYROL Part 02

Unread post by Protoculture »

IV) Tyrol's Peoples

While Tyrol's inhabited surface area is similar in size to Eurasia & Africa combined, its racial composition is dramatically more homogeneous than old world Earth. There are only three racial types, descending from Earth's Caucasians, Dravidians, & Mongoloids. From this fact, it can be surmised that the original humans transplanted to Tyrol originated in the Near East & Central Asia. In the six millennia between the arrival of humans on Tyrol & the advent of civilization across the planet, the Tyrolian peoples fragmented into four major language families, & innumerable tribes & ethnic types. Eventually, by a process of attrition & cultural assimilation, Tyrol's peoples began to consolidate, first into the great empires, then later into the major industrial nation-states.

By the time of the advent of space travel in 652 C.E., only seven major languages were left, & four of those belonged to the 'Tzen' branch of the Orpelo-Sue'tonan language family. Increasingly, the dominant culture became that of the Tiresians, relative newcomers to Tyrol's ethnic mix. The earliest appearance of the Tiresians in the planet's records dates back no further than 410 B.C.E., & they did not become prominent in world affairs almost until 360 C.E. By the emergence of the Robotech Empire in 1361 C.E., Tiresian culture & language had penetrated to every corner of the globe, as a consequence of their political & economic dominance. Today, most of the ancient cultures & peoples are diluted beyond recognition, & their unique facets have been relegated to family- & place-names, & regional festival costumes. A singular exception is the rugged & independent-minded mountain people of the Rylac region, who have kept their language & customs over the many centuries.

Tyrolian culture, & by this one means Tiresian culture in particular, is very superior in its outlook. After a thousand years of being an interstellar power dominating hundreds of alien worlds & a thousand colonies of all sizes of their own, Tiresians grew to look upon themselves as the highest expression of civilization in the Galaxy. The maintenance of the ancient forms of government & the creation of monumental architecture became paramount in the Tyrolians' priorities. The Robotech Elders & Masters were seen by many on Tyrol as having abandoned their duties to the state, as they abandoned Tyrol itself, but the Tyrolian citizenry had neither the resources, power, or will to challenge the Empire.

Tyrol's myriad of pre-industrial cultures produced a flowering of mythic & religious literature over the millennia, though all share a common thread. In the variant of the myth the Tiresians inherited, the Tyrolians were originally created by the supreme god Var'e, a solar deity representing both creation & destruction. Eventually, Var'e's domain was invaded by the supreme evil entity in their mythos, called Adoyn'de, & the Tyrolian race was abducted by a race of demonic dragon-like creatures called the P'tok, of which Adoyn'de was king. Brought down from Heaven as slaves of the P'tok, Tyrolians eventually overthrew their masters with the help of the intercessory deity Fanto, in his first incarnation, Zor'de. Fanto's third incarnation, Lanack, is said to have been born nearly six thousand years later, & to have taught the Tyrolians the arts of civilization, after waging a century-long war against an evil king.

Eventually, the Fanto cults evolved into a number of national & sectarian deities, from which several major universalist philosophic religious systems emerged. These belief systems, however, died at the hands of the secularism of the early interstellar republics. In the following centuries, Tiresian philosophical thought, the dominant form, dwelt more on civic duty, familial obligations, & public morals than on transcendental or theological concerns.

V) Tyrol's History

A. Prehistory (Prehistoric - Archaic – Ancient Eras)

Life clearly did not find its origins on Tyrol. Valivarre is too young a star, scientists suggest, for life to have formed on the worlds that orbit it. Similarly, DNA sequences from other worlds in the quadrant indicate that life on those worlds, in part or in whole, shares a common ancestry with that on Tirol.

Evidence is beginning to suggest that the Tyrolians are the third civilized species to have inhabited the planet. The first occupation period, dating 114 million years ago, appears to coincide with the enormously widespread colonization of worlds by an unknown, long extinct race dubbed the 'Seeders'. This race, of whom no artifact has survived the vast eons, appears to have settled hundreds of planets in the quadrant before their demise. Because of stellar dispersion, it is impossible to know (without surveying the entire Galaxy) how large their sphere of influence once was, though estimates place it on upwards of a thirty thousand inhabited planets. On some worlds, it appears they only introduced new life to pre-existing ecosystems. Others (such as Tyrol) appear to have been completely terraformed, & all their life transplanted from elsewhere. In the more than one hundred million years since life was seeded on Tyrol, however, the planet has developed its own unique species & ecosystems, as evolution took its course. The life brought to Tyrol has long since adapted to its climate, & to its bizarre day, night, & eclipse cycles.

The second alien occupation period appears to have been a mere 15,000 years ago, when a second race, dubbed the 'Settlers', established a small colony on Tyrol. Little is known about this race as well, other than that they brought more lifeforms from other worlds & deposited them onto Tyrol, Praxis, & elsewhere. Most important of the races brought by the 'Settlers' to these planets were, of course, humans from Earth. Few 'Settler' sites have ever been unearthed, & those that have been found have revealed little; Tyrol appears to have been a small backwater colony, possibly agricultural in nature. In any case, the population of 'Settlers' on Tyrol seems to have never exceeded six thousand in small, dispersed settlements. The 'Settlers' apparently used cremation in their burial rites, & no confirmed reports of their skeletons have ever been found - though human remains are often associated with 'Settler' occupation sites. It is a possibility that a Tyrolian racial memory of this race formed the core of the myths relating to the P'tok.

Sometime around 14,000 years ago, not long after the humans were brought to Tyrol, all traces of the 'Settlers' vanish - with indications that their settlements were destroyed by violence - & the humans transplanted to this distant planet began their long reign as the unchallenged masters of this world.

The first Tyrolian civilizations began to appear approximately 6500 B.C.E., in the Dev'er & Relav river valleys, with three other complex urban cultures springing up within the next millennium. Writing appears to have been developed in the Dev'er city-states approximately 5800 B.C.E., & independently again in the Relav and Tonvella cultures within five centuries of that. Much of Tyrolian civilization can be traced to these earliest cultures, though all were eventually conquered by successive waves of later tribes.

Addendum Section by Dr. Jackson McKinney

Addendum I:

Adony’de is Tiresian homonym to a much known but mysterious extra-terrestrial entity / civilization known as Haydon. It is believed by alien exo-archeologists that Haydon is the corporeal alien race (extinct?) definitely responsible for transplanting humanity to Tyrol & Praxis, while introducing & meddling with evolutionary advancement of alien races & ecological eco-systems in several Sentinels worlds in the 4th Quadrant. Their civilizations mimicked those of Settlers but there are evidence pointing Haydon is in the Seeders category. However, new archeological idea that challenged both ideas suggests that Haydon’s race can be categorized as that of both Seeders & Settlers, in Seeders roles, this enigmatic beings terraformed several worlds & experimented with planetary ecological systems & tinkered with evolutionary development of native alien species. In Settlers roles, Haydon seems to actively setting up colonies of their own, & busily transferring Earth’s native early Homo-Sapiens species to Tyrol & Praxis whom these pre-historic humans served as forced & displaced slave laborers to the Settlers colonies in Tyrol. In Praxis however, it seems the Haydon once again chosen to become that of the Seeders, introducing humans to new world & experimenting with single sex society. On Tyrol, early humans simply that of primitive slaves to sophisticated & perhaps agrarian Haydon’s Settlers colonies. After several period though, it seems the primitive humans had engaged in rather violent rebellion against their alien masters & subsequently driven Haydon (?) Settlers into extinction or Haydon civilization (both of Seeders & Settlers) simply vanished from all traces in 4th Quadrant, amounting to either galaxy-wide self imposed exodus or simply died out in galaxy-wide extinction of Haydon’s enigmatic, mysterious species.

Addendum II:

Much has debated into this era dubbed as Archaic Age, describing early Tyrolian hunter-gatherer societies, which later evolved to city-states early civilizations in Tyrolian Ancient Age. The Dev’er & Relav river valleys civilizations mimicked the development of Earth’s own Ancient era early Greek Mycenean city states, Old & Middle Egyptian Kingdoms & that of Babylonian & early Hindu Kush. However, unlike that of Earth’s early civilizations that fallen prey to early Ancient Dark Age, Tyrolian city-states kingdoms didn’t suffered from too much after effects of barbarian invasions throughout their history, simply assimilated their invaders & successfully cultured the barbarians to the city-states distinctive superior culture & civilizations.

Nice....addresses the mystery of a 'common origin' of Terrans and Tirolians
I can just see some geneticists trying to extrapolate from comparisons of Terran and Torolian DNA what was the common ancestor and closest related groups on Earth...

B. Pre-Industrial (Early Antiquity – Mid Antiquity – Late Antiquity Era)

Tyrol's pre-industrial history is long & complex, & owing to limited translations available to Terran historians, is not as widely understood as one might like. The primary cultural continuum that led to the Tiresian culture began with Dev'eria. Though this region's political centers were conquered & destroyed by successive waves of barbarians over the millennia, the newcomers invariably adopted the Dev'er culture. This insured that it remained culturally intact until 1200 B.C.E, when it was finally destroyed by a nation of tribesmen influenced by their society, the Tettelians. In the prior centuries, however, the Forasi city-states emerged, & though culturally distinct from the Dev'er, many of the religious, technical, & scientific achievements of the De'ver were imported. Following on the heels of the Forasi were the Ein'liba, whose drive & martial ambition caused them to build a vast empire that reached its height by 721 B.C.E.; the Forasi were conquered & their culture adopted to a great extent by the Ein'liba. Waves of barbarian invasions, incessant warfare against the various dynasties ruling Tettelia, & economic problems eventually toppled the Ein'liba by 301 B.C.E. Northwestern Pae'rana then entered into something of a dark age, from which the modern cultures of Su'tone, the backwater southern coastal regions of the old Ein'liba empire, eventually emerged after their long intellectual slumber. Among the nationalities that emerged in this region were the Tiresians, descendants of barbarians who had pressed upon the Ein'liba empire centuries before. By 360 C.E., the Tiresians had emerged as one of the most powerful nations in the Su'tone region, & were expanding their influence eastward into Orpelae.

Addendum III:

The late Antiquity Age marked the end of Dev’er city-states era with various successive tribal incursions by Tettelians, a barbarian confederation of desert & steppe tribes. Latter Tettelian dynasties marked differently as these reformed tribesmen assimilated philosophical & scientific advancement inherited from ancient Dev’erians whom they conquered, & Tettelian dynastic impressive monuments often marked as the Golden Age of Antiquity in Tyrolian history. In this respect however, Forasi & Ein’liba emerged as competing civilizations to Tettelian Empire, but only Ein’liba posed a military threat to the Tettelians. Forasi which entered into armed conflict with Ein’liba simply capitulated by the aggressive Ein’liba who later adopted Forasi’s distinct Dev’erian derived culture. In the end of a century though, Tettelian & Ein’liba entered into armed conflicts, however, the superior Tettelians maintained enough clout to emerge victorious in century long survival race as Ein’liba stumbled from chronic economic upheaval & horrendous casualties from ancient Ranaath epidemic that ravaged the nation state late in its dying civilization. Ranaath epidemic laid claim to nearly 2/3rd deaths of all Tyrolian populations worldwide in Antiquity era, mimicking Earth’s Black Death plague that strike medieval societies on Earth.

C. Industrial (Medieval – Colonial – Modern – Space Age)

Technology advanced at an impressive pace during the fifth through seventh centuries C.E. in Su'tone, fueled by population growth & economic development. During this era, the peoples of Su'tone began to aggressively expand, colonizing much of Pae'rana & displacing & dominating the indigenous peoples & cultures. Nevertheless, the aggressive competition between the Su'tonean nations led to several devastating world wars, the third of which ushered in nuclear weaponry. A reluctant participant in the last one, Tiresia nonetheless emerged as the sole major world power, with the might to impose its will, if necessary, on any part of the planet.

Tiresia & the other Su'tonean nations took the lead in technology, though it was Rylac that first entered space. The space era began slowly for Tyrol, but by the early 800's C.E., a permanent presence was established on Fantoma's more stable moons, & after two centuries, the Tyrolians had established colonies in orbit around or on the surface of many of the worlds & moons in their star system. By the discovery of fold technology, fully ten percent of the Tyrolian race lived off-planet.

Addendum IV:

The Medieval Age in Tyrolian history is remarkably short, accounting for less than a hundred year, which saw the rise of several medieval kingdoms in the wake of Ranaath’s epidemic that ravaged the Tettelian & demised Ein’liba empire. These medieval Su’tonean kingdoms, notably Rylac, Tiresia & various Su’tonean nation-states competed with Tettelia in several holy wars & crusades, in which pitted ideological & medieval technology that fast replacing ancient wars. With the invention of gun powder in the late stages of Medieval Age, marked the Industrial Revolution that gripped the entire Tyrolian medieval kingdoms to rapidly expand their Industrial capacities.

The Colonial Age begun as Tettelians expansive Empire collapsed after more than 2 millenia worth of existence, ironically from inter-nation wars as opposed to external threats. Tiresia in particular rapidly contributing to colonization of former Tettelian territories, competed with Rylac on several fronts & undoubtedly, also with armed conflicts. The Colonial Age marked the rapid modernization as Tiresia & other Su’tonean regime nation-states embarked on Industrial Revolution as fossil fuel were discovered & more Industrial outputs to cater to growing & educated populace.

Modern Age ushered, unfortunately with a bang, literally. As nationalism & fascism gripped several Su’tonean states, marked world-wide infighting that literally being fought on every corner of Paerana continent, safe only Tiresia that managed to shield its nation & colonies from the 1st & 2nd devastating Tyrolian world wars, pitting the Monarchists & Republican loyalists of several Tyrolian early modern nations. However, by the 3rd Tyrolian World War, Tiresia was dragged into harsh realities of modern warfare as several its colonies were being invaded by Monarchists armies, & under coalition with its former nemesis, Rylac, Tiresia led the Republican states to stem the Monarchists zealots that threatened the democratic states. This final Tyrolian World War saw the use of nuclear weapons by both Rylac & Tiresia against the two largest Monarchists regimes’ capital cities situated in Tettelia. The horrific outcome of that war immediately put Monarchists to declare unconditional surrender, suffering the final humiliation as both Tiresia & Rylac parceled out Monarchists territories amongst those two Tyrolian emerging super-powers.

The aftermath of 3rd Tyrolian World War marked rapid urbanization of Tyrolian populations & rapid social demographic changes unmatched in previous centuries. In an era that contrast rapidly with Earth’s late Antiquity Age that descended to medieval Dark Ages, Tyrol in this era modernized on a pace that put a race towards Space-Exploration era, with Rylac & Tiresia competed ever industriously neck to neck. With Space Age put a close to Modern Era, several in-Valivarre colonies were already established by Tyrolians now thirst for space exploration.

D. Stellar Republic (Stellar Age)

Deteriorating social & economic conditions in the decades after the first fold-capable ships were launched led to a mass exodus of Tyrolians. Foremost of the egress to the new interstellar colonies were those not of the Tiresian culture (which had been adopted by most of the Su'tone peoples, thanks to the vastly successful economic trade bloc the region had formed). The largest single colony was initially settled by Rylacians after their homeland had been devastated by civil war & famine for nearly a century. Within two centuries, independent colonies grew large enough both in trade & economic power, proved to be major trading & industrial center, second only to Tyrol itself. Eventually the disturbances on Tyrol itself subsided, & under the lead of the Tiresians, Tyrol unified into a more or less homogeneous republic in 1166 C.E. Colonization of other worlds proceeded with great haste, aided by advances in fold technology & a huge increase in the population's growth rate.

Improvements in fold-engines, though still limited by modern standards, led to a thriving interstellar trade. At first, the core of the Interstellar Republic supplied the colonies, but soon they began to develop industries & resources of their own, & began to trade among themselves, & to deliver agricultural goods back to Tyrol.

During the exploration of the quadrant, the Tyrolians encountered their first civilized alien species. The most important of the space-faring alien species encountered were the Karbarrans. A race of bear-like creatures, the Karbarrans had developed a credible presence in space on their own, without the benefit of FTL ships. However, though Karbarra's fantastic industrial capacity dwarfed even Tyrol's, pressures due to population & pollution were straining Karbarra's viability. The Tyrolian Interstellar Republic & the Karbarran Hegemony concluded a comprehensive & amicable trade agreement, with Tyrol providing fold technology, monopolar mining rights, & foodstuffs in exchange for Karbarran industrial expertise, biotechnology, & innumerable products, such as Sekitan ore. Relations between Karbarra & Tyrol were generally favorable for the next two centuries.

The Tyrolians also encountered their first enemies in space during this period as well. A half-dozen minor wars were fought in the Republican epoch against the Perytonians, & a major war was fought by Tyrol & Karbarra in 1274-1306 C.E. against the V'loxia, a dragon-like people whose borders included a hundred inhabited worlds. The conflict was costly and terrible, & ended with the extinction of the V'loxia. The Karbarrans were appalled by the genocide of the V'loxia at the hands of the Tyrolians, & this rift began a downward spiral in these two worlds' relations that led to Karbarra severing ties to Tyrol proper in 1339 C.E., & the entire Interstellar Republic three years later. Karbarra then aligned itself with the autonomous Tyrolian Colonies Republic, which, by this time, controlled a dozen planets & stood to benefit enormously from the larger market for its foodstuffs and products. What had been a centuries-long friendship between Tyrol & Karbarra quickly evolved into an armed stand-off. Tyrol began to suffer an energy crisis, as Karbarran Sekitan, a deuterium-rich ore widely used for fueling most fusion reactors of the time, became generally unavailable. This embargo forced Tyrol to return to older & more inefficient methods of acquiring the choice nuclear fuels.

Exploration vessels led the expansion into space, & charted hundreds of new worlds. The culmination of these missions occurred when Zor Derelda, a young Tiresian project scientist assigned to a deep-space survey team, discovered the planet Optera & its unique lifeforms. The discovery of 'Protoculture' (Tiresian homonym: Zorrlev're, literal meaning: 'Zor's discovery'); as a power source & as a catalyst for cloning, produced nothing less than a revolution in Tyrolian technology, with new hi-technological wonder in form of ‘Robotechnology’ (Tiresian homonym: Zorrlev'dri, literal meaning: 'Zor's science') & soon enough, a revolution in the political sphere as well. The loss of Sekitan now proved advantageous to the Tyrolians, as the replenishment of the protoculture matrix required large amounts of heavy water to be extracted from Tyrol's (& its colonies') oceans - a technology Tyrol had to revive & master after they lost the Karbarran ore.

However, it was not in power production that protoculture's discovery caused the most radical changes to Tyrolian society. Rather, protoculture's ability to accelerate cloning & to repair cellular damage was what ultimately reshaped Tyrolian culture. Tyrolian biotechnology was already extremely advanced at this time, thanks in part to the ground-breaking research in the field pioneered by their former Karbarran friends. But soon, ambitious life-extension projects made the aristocracy virtually immortal, genetically improved grains & farm animals were spread all over the empire, custom genes introduced the entire spectrum of color into Tyrolian eyes & hair. But most ominously, entire races of clones were created, biologically & socially conditioned into a condition of servitude. The first of them, a race of ten-meter tall warriors bred for combat, was called the Zentraedi.

Addendum V:

Stellar Age marked the rapid colonization of deepspace by Tyrolians. As nation-states on Tyrol practically rendered as obsolete, Tiresia simply become the stranglehold over the entire Tyrolian global administration & socio-economic strata of that era as Rylacian regime collapsed under social & financial crises. Tyrolian immigrants, wanting to escape the serious economic downturn & social stress from sudden explosion of Tyrolian population in the past decades, simply bundled off to colonized frontier worlds outside Valivarre system. Large numbers of migration fleets, financed by powerful Tyrolian merchant conglomerates paved the way towards off-system colonization efforts & establishing intra-trade between the Tyrolian homeworld & its sister colonies in deep space. Interesting also the emergence of distinct new classes of Tyrolian citizentries during this era, with Senatorial class, Patrician class, Philosopher class, Merchant class & Artisan class.

The Republican Era marked successive attempt by Tyrolian Stellar Republic to put under its rein several of its more independent colonies. This marked the first concerted effort by Stellar Republic in its dream as a united Tyrolian Empire, idealized by its democratic Senate principles. But these fell short as autonomous Tyrolian Colonies Republic, founded by several outer Tyrolian colonies backed by merchant classes, demanded higher degrees of autonomy over their own affairs & balked over centralized governance favored by Stellar Republic. Sufficed to note, over sixty percent of Tyrolian off-world & off-system colonies simply absorbed under Stellar Republic hegemony, with another forty percent of Tyrolian independent colonies consolidated under the benign Tyrolian Colonies Republic.

No doubt by this time, Tyrolians found themselves as the highest expression & culture of the galaxy. The first contact with alien race, Terran bear-like Karbarran changed Tyrolian course of inter stellar history. Mutual & beneficial trade agreements between the two spacefaring species opened new windows in space-age technology & joint-explorations of more new worlds & trade opportunities. Karbarran vast industrial capacities & Tyrolian mastered fold technology benefited both civilizations, & Karbarran Hegemony & Stellar Republic became allies both in trade & commerce, also militarily. In military capacity, both species encountered a fierce sauroid civilization, known as Vloxians & in an epic power struggle, Vloxians were soundly defeated after nearly a century of interstellar war. As Tyrol & Karbarra busily re-occupy & colonizing former Vloxians worlds, the Tyrolians went overboard by actually introduced a biological agent virus (a refined variant of ancient Ranaath virus, re-engineered to wipe out Vloxian sauroid reptilian species) that was released to Vloxia’s homeworld & practically extinguished every living sauroids on that homeworld in mere weeks. Only a small Vloxian sauroid survivors of 55,000 colonists are given safe refuge on Peryton, who by that time a close rival competing with Tyrol over trade opportunities.

Not wasting their time, Stellar troops conducted pre-emptive strike towards Peryton over Karbarran’s objection, & added Peryton as Stellar’s Republic first alien colony. Only under dire threat of economic & diplomatic sanctions by Karbarra that Stellar Republic was forced to adhere in allowing the sauroid survivors to disarmed & live on Peryton peacefully, while in effect Stellar Republic had subjugated Peryton by making it a base to its Republican troops & their Tyrolian dependents, transplanting Tyrolian colonists on Peryton itself while displacing Perytonian natives. Tyrolian militaristic & expansionism venture finally put a dent to Karbarra who laters aligned itself with Stellar Republic rival, the autonomous Tyrolian Colonies Republic. The Stellar Republic suffers ominously as Sekitan ores slowly diminished with no new supplies from Karbarra, & the race to acquire newer power source became all too paramount. During this latter stages of Stellar Age, Tyrolian techno-voyagers scours the stars & it took Zor Derelda to his greatest found, Invid Flower of Life on Optera in Tzuptum system & the discovery of bio-energy power source known as Protoculture that will reshaped the Tyrol’s destiny & that of the entire Galaxy forever, in the period known as the Great Transition era.

E. Robotech Tyrolian Mercantile Empire (The Great Transition – Imperial Age)

The Zentraedi were developed in 1355 C.E. at the behest of the Tyrolian Senate by Tyrol's most powerful bloc of scientists - a group of ideologues calling themselves the Robotech Masters (Zorrlev'dra Gisterae). Founded by a set of identical triplets calling themselves the Robotech Elders (Zorrlev'dra Ertulve), & obsessed by the numerology of threes, the Robotech Masters set about using the cloning technologies to create what was, in their view, the perfect society - a race of triplets acting in concert for the good of the race, where emotional expression & individuality were forbidden.

Though the Zentraedi were nominally under the control of the Senate, the real control lay in the hands of the Robotech Elders. When word of the Robotech Elders' eugenics experiments broke, the Tyrolian people, especially the patrician classes, were aghast. The Elders were ordered to immediately cease their experiments by the Senate. In response, the Elders called in the Zentraedi & seized control of Tyrol in 1361 C.E., disbanding the Senate & quickly destroying the Tyrolian Stellar Republican military. In the Great Hall of Tiresia, as the Senate - under house arrest - watched, the Robotech Tyrolian Mercantile Empire was proclaimed into existence. The homeworld securely in their hands, the Robotech Elders began to set about establishing control over all the worlds in the now-defunct Stellar Republic.

The first crisis facing the new Robotech Empire was on Karbarra. In 1378 C.E., the Karbarrans tested on an obscure moon a new type of starship-mounted weapon: the Reflex Cannon. Combining the power of a nuclear weapon with the advantages of an area-affect beam gun, & impervious to the anti-missile defenses as mounted on starships, this weapon's test was meant by Karbarra as a signal to Tyrol - that it would not be bullied by the Elders. Nevertheless, the Elders rightly perceived that this technology, if given the time to develop, would upset the balance of power in the quadrant away from the infant empire. The Zentraedi were mustered & dispatched to Karbarra, which was soon conquered with minimal collateral damage & loss of Karbarran life, & its great industrial capacity turned to Imperial needs. The Karbarrans were forced to hand over the secrets to the Reflex Cannon, which was perfected by the new Science Triumvirates. Soon, new classes of Zentraedi ships began to appear (the flagship & monitor), which were built around the terribly effective split-boom beam gun.

The Karbarrans, though resentful of the conquest, were treated with the utmost respect & charity by the Imperial Governors, & thus never rose in revolt against the Empire - indeed, Karbarra saw its greatest economic boom in three centuries when Tyrolian merchants began to return. Tyrolian Colonies Republic, on the other hand, immediately objected to the loss of its trading partner, but was mollified by assurances of autonomy & free trade with Tyrol.
Still, the Elders were uncertain of their position. As their power originally derived from protoculture, they resolved to be the sole masters of it. Optera was ordered defoliated, leaving its inhabitants, the Invid, to starve - precipitating one of the greatest conflicts the Empire would know. As the seeds of the Flower of Life were stolen from Optera, the seeds of the Empire's overthrow were also sown. By 1450 C.E., the new triumvirate clones were perfected, & the Robotech Elders retired to their great motherships in Tyrolian orbit with their triplet minions. Surrounded by their immediate servants, the Robotech Masters, the Elders quickly succeeded in gaining for Tyrol all the Tyrolian colonies except the automous Tyrolian Colonies Republic & its immediate independent colonies whose treaties with the Empire were honored, so long they gave token deference to the Imperial order.

At about the same time, like a phoenix from the ashes, the Invid began to appear, ravaging outlying colony worlds & folding out before they could be caught by the Imperial forces. This harassment, though unsettling to inhabitants of the outlying colonies, was not a serious threat to the empire, but it did require the establishment of a vast defensive fleet of Zentraedi. Very quickly, the Zentraedi succeeded in forcing the Invid to flee Optera, but the harassment continued after the Invid adopted a new world outside the Tyrolians' sphere of influence as their secret base of operations.

At this point, only one weakness was apparent in the Imperial armor: though the Robotech Elders had a monopoly on protoculture, they could not produce it indefinitely without help - & increasingly, they grew completely dependent on this energy source whose production they ultimately could not control. For reasons the Elders & Masters could never discover, the Flowers of Life would produce seeds that could release energy, but would never be able to germinate - the seeds were sterile. Eventually the plants would mature & cease producing seeds, becoming worthless to the Empire. The secret of fertile seeds was tightly held by Zor, the scientist who initially discovered the Flower of Life, & he held it as his trump-card. Zor destroyed all records of the Flower's biology, committing it to memory. Though cajoled into providing fertile seeds for the Empire, Zor did so only when the lives & liberties of the colonists & citizens of the Empire were respected. The Elders were willing enough to grant Zor's demands, so long as subversive elements did not threaten their power.

In 1481 C.E., Zor was given permission to relocate to Tyrolian Colonies Republic, to continue his researches & collaborate with his Tyrolian Colonies Republic’s colleagues. During this period, a number of breakthroughs were made in the area of genetic engineering, though only a few of these were forwarded back to the Elders. While there, increasingly disenchanted with the Empire & its continual wars & expansion, Zor pseudonymously wrote a series of political & philosophical tracts favoring a federalist republican system of government over the current Imperium, & lambasting the triumvirate as an unnatural abomination. When word of these essays reached Tyrol in 1502 C.E., Zor was recalled by the Elders & severe restrictions were placed on his movement & activities. Nevertheless, his writings struck a chord in the Tyrolian Colonies Republic population & in the old patrician families on Tyrol & elsewhere in the Empire. Tyrolian nationalism, long kept silent for fear of Imperial reprisal, was awakened, & an anti-Imperial chorus began to be sung on every world in the Empire, forcing the Elders to act swiftly & decisively.

Addendum VI (Selective quotes taken from Zentraedi History & Description):

……

DESCRIPTION & HISTORY OF TYROL Part 06

F. Robotech Civil War (Divisive War Era)

With their prestige & power on the line, the Robotech Elders authorized their chief subordinates, the First Robotech Master Triumvirate, to take charge of the situation. In 1519 C.E., Tyrolian Colonies Republic was ordered to surrender its sovereignty to the Empire, & to receive an Imperial Governor Triumvirate. The independent colonists reply was to blow the Governors' shuttle out of the sky as it attempted to land on their capital world. The crisis escalated, & the 1st Master Triumvirate was forced to send a fleet of a thousand Zentraedi warships to the rebel colony. Unwilling to assault colony because of its formidable defenses & enormous economic & strategic value, the Masters hoped that a credible threat would cause the independent colonists to bow to their will without violence. Unprepared for the situation, & utterly naive of the pleasures of culture, the Zentraedi commanders accepted talks on rebel’s capital homeworld, & came, along with a significant contingent of their troops, to the surface. As the Zentraedi commanders discussed the situation with the rebel government, their soldiers were entertained by a surprisingly fearless & hospitable population. In almost no time, the Zentraedi began to request amnesty on Tyrolian Colonies Republic, & were happily adopted by the Republic. A larger fleet of 200,000 vessels - known as "Supervision Army" - was immediately dispatched to restore discipline, but the soldiers of the relief fleet refused to fire upon their own. In six months, the cultural contamination of the enormous Zentraedi presence above the rebel’s planet was virtually complete.

At this point, with the defection of fully a fifth of their forces, the Robotech Masters were forced into action. The Grand Fleet, then comprising 800,000 Zentraedi warships, was dispatched with orders to annihilate rebellious rebel capital world & the rebel Zentraedi. Without a clear-cut defense, & hopelessly outnumbered, the rogue Zentraedi landed their ships on Republic’s capital world’s surface & engineered a hurried evacuation. By the time the Grand Fleet folded in to rebel colony’s space, one quarter of the population, five hundred million people, & all of their Zentraedi allies had disappeared into the vastness of space. The remaining population fought valiantly, & succeeded in delaying the Grand Fleet long enough for their evacuees & their Zentraedi allies to make good their escape. Nevertheless, the Grand Fleet quickly disabled rebel’s defenses, & bombarded the surface of the planet until its oceans & atmosphere boiled away, as an example to any subject world who might consider revolt.

The crisis, however, had only just begun. Using fold-guerrilla tactics pioneered by the Invid, only on a far larger scale, the Robotech Rebels, those Tyrolian patrician allies & sympathizers who had been exiled because of their vocal support of Republican ideals, & Supervision Army of Zentraedi armada launched a terrible war against the Robotech Empire. Forced to dramatically increase the numbers of loyal Zentraedi, the Elders found themselves fighting a defensive struggle against a relentless & spirited enemy. With the Imperial defenses spread out over so many systems, the "Disciples of Zor", as the Masters came to call them, were able to concentrate their forces on every single target they chose to attack. They handily won almost every military engagement; always folding to parts unknown before Imperial reinforcements could arrive. In just over two centuries, the Empire had fallen to tatters, caught between the Supervision Army of rebel Zentraedi & the plundering Invid, who took full advantage of the confusion to pursue their own vendetta. In 1792 C.E. the rebel armada threw caution to the wind & attempted to win the war in one single stroke. The entire rebel fleet folded into Tyrol-space & quickly shattered the defensive Zentraedi units in orbit around the planet, then began to surround & attack the Masters' motherships. The rebels’ fleet was supported on Tyrol's surface by a large fraction of Tyrol's patricians, who saw this as an opportunity to rid themselves of the Elders. For the first time since the Zentraedi were created to fight for the Tyrolians, the Elders & Masters were forced to send their own people - especially their triumvirate clones - into battle. Though losses were heavy on all sides, the Imperial reserve armies held the line long enough for Zentraedi reinforcements to arrive. The Grand Fleet was assembled & folded in to Tyrol-space, quickly crushing the rebels’ task force. With half their ships lost, the Robotech Rebels were forced to retreat again into the inky blackness of space. Never again were they to pose a serious threat to the Empire, though the damage was already done. The Zentraedi 'domillans', or advisors, were cautioned never again to allow themselves close contact with cultured peoples, because of the consequences of the cultural contamination by the rebellious micronians.

Addendum VII (Selective quotes taken from Zentraedi History & Description):

Entire Imperium erupted into war as Disciples of Zor sympathizers filled the Robotech rebels ranks, & with Supervision Army at their side, the Robotech rebels began their insurgency campaign with devastating results against Imperium colonies who’s still loyal to the Imperium.

Both Imperial Boroid Forces & Tyrolian Border Forces (which includes new breed of Zentraedi Borderers) managed to delay the rebel faction invasion for a little longer, giving Dolza’s Zentraedi Armada precious time to reassemble rescue Taskforce, headed by illustrious Zentraedi Fleet Commander of 101st Assault Combine Fleet, Breetai Kridanik.

G. The Masters' Empire (The Renaissance Age)

Frustrated by the poor handling of the devastating civil war by the Robotech Elders, the 1st Robotech Master Triumvirate, with the assent of virtually all the other Robotech Masters, seized control of the government in 1800 C.E., keeping the Elders on as mere figureheads. With the Robotech Rebels effectively out of the way, & the Zentraedi fleets burgeoning, the Empire began to rebuild from the terrible fighting that had brought it on the brink of annihilation. An Imperial renaissance began, though the reformed empire of the Masters was only a small fraction of the Elders' at its height. Most of the outlying colonies, especially the small ones, had been utterly eradicated by the Invid's ruthless advance, & many of the larger ones had been devastated by the Robotech Rebels or the Masters in their war. But with the consolidation of the Zentraedi around the remaining colonies, the Invid threat was contained, & would not seriously trouble the Empire for two more centuries. Still, the long war had given Dolza, the Zentraedi supreme commander, significant autonomy over the Zentraedi fleet & its operations. Communications between the Masters & their Zentraedi slaves began to break down, while Dolza's interpretations of his orders became troublingly distant from the Masters' intent.

By now, the problems with the dwindling supplies of protoculture had begun to approach a crisis level. Every half-century, Zor would be released from his house arrest & sent to seed a host of new worlds with the Flower of Life. In approximately 1950 C.E., Zor was once again dispatched in the newly-designed Tyrolian Monitor Macross for that purpose. The Masters had long accepted that Zor would never divulge the secrets of the Flower of Life to them, but they also found that he was tired of fighting them. His demands became increasingly token, & the Masters were more than happy to satiate him.

At this time, the Invid tactics began to undergo a bit of a revolution. As the Invid began to capture the Tyrolian colony worlds, they began to build up a stockpile of the seeds of the Flower of Life. To their dismay, the Masters discovered that the strain Zor had been seeding was a mutant variety that even the Invid could not cause to produce fertile seeds. Even worse, the infertile seeds and plants captured by the Invid kept them powered and fed, at least for a time. With the introduction of their vast Hive Ships, spherical analogs to the Tyrolian motherships, the Invid became capable, in some small measure, of challenging the Zentraedi in a stand-up fight. The Invid made virtually no permanent gains during this perod, & suffered a major setback when their new base of operations in the Large Magellanic Cloud was discovered by the Masters' fold-sensing probes. A Zentraedi taskforce made a six year-long journey to this planet & struck a terrible blow against them, forcing the Invid to abandon their homeworld for the second time. Still, it became painfully clear that the balance of power was shifting away from the weakened & devastated Empire, & to the Invid.

In 1940 C.E., the Zentraedi rooted out the last Disciples of Zor stronghold & destroyed it. Though the Robotech Masters long feared the return in force of the "Disciples of Zor", this fear was never realized, & the Robotech Rebels were never heard from again. The Invid had become the sole remaining enemy. Still, though its worlds were mostly protected, the Empire's collapse was imminent. Power supplies were scarce, to maintain order, a fair degree of autonomy had to be returned to the worlds inhabited by non-Tyrolian races, like Karbarra - though none of these worlds desired independence, as that would leave them open to the depredations of the Invid. The Imperial renaissance foundered, & rot began to set into the long-stagnant society.

H. Downfall & Invid Occupation

The beginning of the end of the dying Robotech Empire came in February 1999 C.E., when Zor was killed in an Invid ambush during a seeding mission in deep space, & the secrets of the production of fertile seeds of the Flower of Life died with him. To make matters worse, the remaining store of fully fertile seeds was hidden aboard the Macross, which launched on autopilot during the ambush that killed Zor & folded into parts unknown. Desperate for the remaining fertile seeds & their matrix, the Robotech Masters, perhaps foolishly, authorized Dolza to use any means necessary to recover the Macross.

In July 1999, the Macross crash-landed on Earth, followed ten years later by a Zentraedi task-force under Breetai Kridanik. In a virtual repeat of the circumstances that began the Robotech Civil War, Breetai's Imperial Adoclas fleet, a fifth of the total Zentraedi armada, defected to the side of the cultured humans. This time, the rogue Zentraedi & their contaminators didn't have time to even contemplate running. On June 18, 2011, Dolza, acting on his own initiative to remove the contaminated Zentraedi near Earth, mustered all the Zentraedi ships that still had sufficient power to make the fold to Earth, leaving the Empire's core systems, long protected solely by their Zentraedi contingents, dangerously vulnerable to the Invid. Earth was bombarded, but the combined forces of Earth's Grand Cannon, the Macross, & Breetai's rebel fleet retaliated with tremendous speed & certainty, using a broadcast of music over all Zentraedi military frequencies to cause confusion & to disrupt communications. When the battle ended, the two opposing Zentraedi camps had all but wiped each other out, & the Empire - what was left of it - was ripe for the taking.

It took the Invid several years to really take advantage of the situation. In the decade prior to the destruction of the Zentraedi fleet, they had suffered terribly in massed engagements with the Zentraedi, & were as desperate for protoculture as were the Masters. But take advantage they did, reoccupying Optera, swiftly sweeping over the remnants of the Empire, & bearing down on Tirol herself.

The only remaining option left to the Masters was to follow the Zentraedi to Earth. Uncertain of Earth's exact coordinates, their initial fold-jump, made in October of 2013, got them within twenty light-years of Earth, but without sufficient energy to complete the trip except by sublight drives. The trip was briefly shortened when sufficient energy was eventually squeezed from the decaying protoculture matrices for a short-range fold from several light-years out, but they arrived at Earth weakened & uncertain. More importantly for Tyrol, its last line of defense had been taken from it, except for a paltry reserve of Bioroids. The world's citizens, long left to their own devices by the Masters & their orbiting Triumvirate clone societies, were left as easy prey for the Invid.

The Invid's campaign of conquest concluded in December of 2022, when Tyrol itself fell to their forces. Though the fighting over Tiresia was fierce, most of the planet gave up without a fight. The Invid were not mollified by the easy victory, & set about the extermination of the Tyrolian race. Their plans were delayed as deep schism between Regess & Regent, top monarchs of Invid hierarchy came to fore as Regent squandered precious protoculture supplies & the Invid mechanized troops in the Invid campaign against the Empire. Tyrol, ironically become Invid’s colony, & become the launchpad for Invid expansion to conquer Sentinels coreworld from 2023 – 2028AD. In the meantime, the former Masters homeworld now received a new ruthless overlord, the Invid Colonial Governor, the Invid Tesla.

Addendum IX (Selective quotes taken from Zentraedi History & Description):

…. with Masters discontent subjects, who by now resisting orders & old age emotion such as angers & frustrations creeped into the triumvirate societies all around the Empire due to Masters abandonment.

Now awashed with fresh Flower of Life, Invid forces under Regent committed conventional war against the Empire, at first ravaging the defenceless frontier colonies before striking deep within the Empire.

…… The Invid dealt harsh punishment to every worlds they invaded & met with heavy resistance by Borderers contingents, usually by wiping out every last triumvirate clones in wholesale massacres. Invid bloodlust & merciless killing instincts at this time reach all time high; on par with Masters own excesses.

Invid crusades left the entire Imperium in shambles, far more devastating than the previous Robotech civil war of aeons past. Invid terror warmachines practiced ethnic cleansing on a far larger scale to wipe out any Tyroloid clones, Zentraedi or Triumvirates otherwise. In 2023AD, the Invid forces finally located Tyrol & overran the entire Valivarre system with ease, & now proceeding to massacre the entire native Tyrolian population just like their Triumviarate cousins on many unfortunate worlds & Invid ever visited. However, thanks to Invid internal schism between its two monarchs, the entire population on Tyrol was spared, as perhaps Invid them selves grew tired from such massacre.

I. The Sentinels' War & the New Tyrolian Republic

For over a decade, native Tyrolians suffered under Invid’s overlordships. Frequent subjugation by Inorganics sentries were carried out by Invid forces against perceived Tyrolians rebellious peasants from time to time. The pacifists Tyrolians simply capitulated, as if no fights were left in their veins after many centuries of bloodshed for the glory of the dead Imperium. In late 2030, when the UEEF, on a mission to prevent another war with the Robotech Masters or their armies, arrived on Tyrol, & found itself forced to make war on the Regent's occupation force. Within three months, the spent & overextended Invid were driven from Tyrol, & the UEEF was established as the custodians & inheritors of the world. In May 2031, this relationship was formalized at Tyrol's request, & the Plenipotentiary Council attached to the UEEF became Tyrol's highest political body.

The long wars had left Tyrol in shambles. Off-world food & industrial production had virtually been wiped out with the loss of the colonies, & the only thing saving the Tyrolians from famine was the fact that the population of Tirol had shrunk so dramatically. Though in the decade of Invid occupation killed many Tyrolians, the simple fact is that Tyrol had already become a lonely place. The extremely high standard of living had led to a very low birth rate for centuries. Furthermore, mass emigration of new batches of Triumvirate clones occurred in the latter years of the Empire, in hopes of reestablishing a number of the colonies. When the Invid were driven from Tirol, the planet's population was a mere two hundred & eighty million, far lower than Earth's population after the Zentraedi holocaust. But one major difference was clear: the centuries of the very low birth rate, combined with a very long life span even for the lowest classes, had led to the graying of the population. When the UEEF arrived, the average native Tyrolian was over sixty, & people under thirty-five made up only seventeen percent of the population.

The colonies fared far worse. At the height of the Elders' empire, almost a hundred billion Tyrolians colonists lived off-world. This number was more than cut in half by the bloody Robotech civil war. The Invid, it seems, completely succeeded in eradicating nearly all the former Tyrolian colonies – only 2 minor colony worlds escaped Invid’s detection. From these two fringe worlds, the entire 8 million Triumvirate colonists & their 125,000 Tyrolian Border Fleet contingents engineered an exodus to an abandoned Disciples of Zor – Tyrolian Republican Guard military outpost, in a star system containing a massive asteroid belt & 2 planetoid orbiting a dwarf star, outside of Imperium’s stellar border (apart from 175,000 triumvirate clone refugees; survivors of 2nd Robotech war aboard UES Marcus Antonius).

The Tyrolian people had long forgotten how to take care of themselves. Virtually the entire urban population was made up of artisans & philosophers. The rural areas had largely become enormous estates, managed by automated machines. Science & engineering had long been the purview of the triumvirate clones, & the Masters made sure that the citizens of their homeworld were kept fed & indolent - as much to avoid further trouble from them as anything else. Nevertheless, the Tyrolians have always been a proud & resourceful people, & the shock at seeing the Invid plunder their homeworld awakened the population from its long sleep. When the UEEF arrived & liberated Tirol, the Terran blood-brothers were received as heroes. The cities were rebuilt, & technical schools, based upon the very successful ones created for the Zentraedi assimilated into human society on Earth, were established for the citizenry. In 2031, 8 million triumvirate colonists & their 125,000 strong Zentraedi Borderers patrons returned to Tyrol, while in 2033, 175,000 triumvirate clones returned in the UES Marcus Antonius, & were repatriated with only minimal uproar from the Tyrolian citizenry. These clones proved to be extremely valuable in Tyrol's recovery, because of their substantially larger technical background, & their relative youth.

The Sentinels' War & Edwards' abortive coup in 2041AD were the only disturbances to hit Tyrol during its reconstruction - & these mainly confined themselves to the Terran population living on Tyrol. In the two decades between the arrival of the UEEF & the departure of more than half its number in the attempt to liberate Earth, the Terrans began to adopt Tyrolian culture as their own. Intermarriage between EF officers & the remnants of the Tyrolian patrician class became relatively common. Though at first the military organization of the EF served to keep Terran & Tyrolian cultures separate, the UEEF now began to integrate into Tyrolian society, & by the time of reclamation missions to Earth starting in 2038AD, many of the Terran youths saw Tyrol, & not Earth, as their home.

Though the Sentinels' retaking of Tyrol from General Thomas Riley Edwards in 2041 saw the destruction of the last remnants of Tyrol's capacity to produce spacecraft, Tyrol remained an interstellar power, with the Terrans in the UEEF as their proxy. In 2035, Tirol entered as a signatory to the Sentinels Confederation, now as an equal partner, not as a master.

Addendum X (Quote taken from Zentraedi History & Description):

Addendum Section by Dr. Jackson McKinney

Addendum XI - Conclusion:

New Tyrolian Republic is now a strong ally & influential member of Expeditionary Council, an outgrowth of defunct Plenipoteniary Council which was disbanded shortly after Invid Invasion of Earth. However, unlike many UEEF Terran colonies, Tyrol maintains a high degree of autonomy with its own Senate & a large contingent of Tyrolian military known as the Tyrolian Republican Guards. Despite these, Tiresia by 2032AD has been declared as the capital city for Expeditionary Council & later in 2035, become the capital city to Sentinel Confederation. Unlike Tyrol of old, now the moon itself supported lively alien expatriate communities from Karbarra & Peryton, & other Sentinel homeworlds that came to Tiresia mainly to engage in interstellar trade.

Now, the population of that tiny world has steadily risen - albeit slowly as per Republican Government strict control of the nationalised Tyrolian Cloning Institute – with selective bio-genetics cloning of Tyroloids programmes are now available in the new Republic to supplement the rapidly dwindling population on planetary level from previous decades & preceeding centuries. More & more new generation of Tyrolians become deeply pacifists, in regards to many traumas of yesteryears centuries of wars & near extinction by their own making in Tyrol’s long history. One can safely say, rest assured that new generation of Tyrolian societies will no longer repeat the mistakes done by their forefathers, as it seems only those Terran colonists of the UEEF were now more warlike than the current Tyrolians.

Interesting to note that despite sharing genetic makeup, native Tyrolians, Triumvirate clones & Zentraedi themselves have created each distinct cultures of their own, separated them from their genetic donor, the native Tyrolians. This is more profound as New Tyrol Republic recognized four main ethnic make-up in their new citizenries, the native Tyrolians, the Triumvirate clones, the Zentraedi & Terran colonists. Integration of these disparate cultures bound to prove interesting blueprint for future, dynamic Tyrolian generations to come.

What does the future holds for New Tyrolian Republic? This can only be answered by Tyrolians themselves. Once again upholding to their democratic ideals as opposed to UEEF military overlordship, Tyrolians future are bright. By now, humanitarian efforts spearheaded by Tyrolians to assists Earth’s reconstruction followed by post 3rd Robotech War & reconstruction efforts throughout the 4th Quadrant is the Tyrolians way to redress their warpath & mistakes done by their Robotech ancestors against the Galaxy. One can only hoped that Tyrol will never again repeat the same mistake again, & Terrans alike wll not follow their Tyrolian forays in flirting with protoculture dominated universe.

Robotech Civil Wars, Robotech Wars, Invid Crusade, War of the Flowers & Sentinels Campaign have taken billions of lives & testament to that bloody struggle over protoculture dominance. With Shadow Conflict now foreshadowing us, humanity as a whole, Terrans, Tyrolians, Zentraedi & even Praxians alikes must now taken to arms yet again, not to fight against each other, but to protect of our proud civilization from the Shadow’s menace.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ROBOTECH MASTERS, TRIUMVIRATE CLONE SOCIETY & TRIUMVIROID

Introduction & Brief History

For centuries, the Robotech Masters have dominated the known universe, controlling vast territories that until now modern historians have difficulty to identify, from modest estimates of thousands of worlds to exaggerated hundreds of thousands of planetary systems.

However, their history almost parallel with that of native Tyrolians. However, one must be able to differentiate from free willing Tyrolian societies, who by far, original natives of Tyrol & still carry on with their culture, albeit under strict control from their Masters overlords. The Triumvirate clone societies & its extension, the Bioroid warrior clones known as Triumviroids, are as distinct to average Tyrolians & maintains separate culture as that of Zentraedi, another clone societies that Masters created on their path to power.

Where they originated from, their rise to power & glory, & their motivation will be thouroughly discussed in herein onwards.

The Robotech Master's homeworld can be located orbiting a star in a distant constellation. On Earth, the constellation is visible only from the Southern hemisphere, hence its name "The Southern Cross". The star system known as Valivarre, includes the largest planet in this system, a gas giant called Fantoma, & one of its orbiting satellites, called Tyrol. The native Tyrolians have at that time developed into a thriving space-faring society controlling a large number of worlds under its sphere of influence. Yet, it is not until a certain Tyrolian techno-voyager known as Zor Derelda’s discovery of protoculture did the Tyrolians gain their name & reputation as "techno-wizards".

The discovery & development of protoculture rocketed this race light-years ahead of the other intelligent life forms in the 4th Quadrant. Protoculture is derived from the Invid Flower of Life; a bizarre alien plant that blooms only on planet Optera in Tzuptum system. The development of protoculture technology produced 3 overwhelmingly significant results that transform the Tyrolian society:

- First & foremost, a properly germinated Flower of Life’s seed, locked in stasis, will produce an estimated bio-energy a thousand times greater than the output of Terran’s best nuclear reactor. A specialized & efficient system of cell batteries & generators can tap into this clean bio-energy created by the organic power-plant & draw on its long-lasting energy for years. A handful of seeds can generate enough energy production capacity to power a high-tech civilization on planetary level.

- It is when this organic power source is used to fuel & power advanced machinery & instrumentalities, it imparts almost living-like qualities which would ultimately leads to the development of Robotechnology & the unique synthesis between that of man & machine. This achievement marked the successful application of Protoculture into Robotech militarization, with creation of terror war machines & vast space armada.

- Protoculture applications can be used to cloning development. It is through zylonases enzyme, a leftover of protoculture matrices’ production, that genetic manipulation by Robotech bio-researchers achieved their greatest fame, both the Zentraedi & Triumvirates clones production.

The Robotech Elders, Zor’s colleagues, are quick to utilize protoculture to its fullest potential. First they established a Robotech consortium & has the Republic Senate backings, to pioneer every field of research associated with protoculture applications. Terror assault mechas, Zentraedi infantries, & huge combat spacecrafts & bio-organic science research will ultimately help fueled Robotech Elders ambition to finally wrest power from the Republic & established their fiefdom & Robotech Empire. These three individuals even create their own triumvirate clones as their successors, the Robotech Masters.

It is not long that Robotech Elders act towards monopolizing the lucrative protoculture production. Zor Derelda, as the 1st Robotech Master, is instructed to gather all the germinated seeds for Imperial storage, completing research on Flower of Life species for eventual future plantation production centers, & deliver the final coup de grace, betraying the Invid monarchs on Optera. The end result is where Zentraedi troops immediately stripped all Flower of Life species from its native Optera, followed by the complete defoliation of the Invid homeworld. An act of greed that unleashes the Invid crusade on the known universe, & will ultimately leads to the Robotech Imperium destruction, in later part of Imperium history.

In the Great Transition era, every native Tyrolians were forced to donate their DNA samples to the Imperium cloning bank, in effect accumulating countless DNA samples to be derived & manipulated to create whole series of both Zentraedi & later Triumvirate clones. This in effect creates outlasting distrust of Tyrolian natives to their clones cousins for generations to come. Subjugation of the 4th Quadrant worlds added to Robotech Elders arrogance. Feeling that Tyrolian natives are the backward step in Robotech society evolutionary development, they created artificial Triumvirate clones societies, which follow strictly to the perverted Triumvirate dogma that become the official ideology for the Imperium.

The end result culminates in the devastative Robotech Civil War between rebellious Tyrolian colonies against Masters’ Triumvirate clone societies. A war that rages for 3 centuries that will ravaged the Empire & nearly bring it down to its knees. Masters faction becomes victorious in this long running wars, & repopulated the entire Imperium colonies with their Triumvirate societies, safe only Tyrol itself.

Having a robotechnological & military edge towards the other civilizations, Robotech Masters’ grip over Robotechnology & protoculture production become far tighter. As the Robotechnology becomes more developed & refined, Masters as the sole owner of the technological wonders control the fates of entire civilizations, alien or otherwise, making sure other worlds would become dependent to Masters’ for energy production & lucrative trade that comes from protoculture applications. This creates subvervient mentality that pervades most of the Masters non-Tyroloid alien races under Imperium dominion.

By withholding the technology for protoculture refinement & production, no other alien cultures can solved their dependencies towards the precious bio-energy. The alien users’ understanding of protoculture power production simply limited to: an invaluable seed used to generate power & can only be used as an energy source. It almost seem that Robotech Masters, alone, hold the greatest secret for immortality in the universe. Even the appearance of the mysterious Invid threat, which ultimately signal the beginning of another strife what would stretch into eons, do not sway the Masters.

An old Terran axiom said that with ultimate power comes ultimate corruption, which become true for the Robotech Masters. The creation of Triumvirate clones mean immortality & a complete Triumvirate highest form of expression for the Robotech Masters. But, with each passing centuries, they become more & more detached from their own Tyrolian roots, become emotionless as emotions are seen as beneath their morals & befits only the primitive micronian cultures they so detested. Even the wealth coming from trade & commerce of Robotechnology & protoculture production cannot satiate their needs for total control. If a planet & its civilization refused to deal with the Masters, by threatening or blackmailing them into submission are the only available options. If a world still refuses Masters subjugation or dares to strike back, planetary bombardment & total annihliation by the Zentraedi Regular Armies is often the Robotech Masters coldless response.

Eventually, it taken Zor Derelda – the 1st Robotech Master, the discoverer of the Flower of Life & father of Robotechnology, to finally set the change in Master’s course of history. After several futile attempts to avert the excesses of the Masters, the aging Zor (he refused the last life-extension treatment programme as scheduled in early 20th century AD, Terran estimate) plans his quiet rebellion. Gathering all the last available original & fertile Flower of Life (he was still head of protoculture development) & the last known protocolture matrix, he stored them within secret compartment of his personal battle fortress, the Makross-class monitor. He then proceeds to destroy all data pertaining on protoculture research except those that he committed to memory alone. His greatest personal retaliation come in form of supplying Masters with infertile, mutant version Flower of Life during reseeding missions to foreign worlds. In this way, Zor is almost certain he will be able to force the Masters hand to be more humane towards the Imperium subjects & equitable use of protoculture to all its citizens, to Zor’s own guilt, to redress his past mistakes.

As fates have shown, Zor would be killed during Invid ambush of the seeding mission on distant sector of the Imperium. Despite that shortcoming, his ship’s AI, Ih’va (aka EVE) – following Zor’s pre-planned programming to the letter – folded to parts outside Masters’ sphere of influence. The last of the protoculture matrix & fertile Flower of Life is now out of reach from Masters are transported inside Makross to a distant world, Earth. That fateful event will yield the humanity of Earth regarding the secrets of Robotechnology & signalling the destruction of the Robotech Masters' society, & the mass genocide of nearly all of the Zentraedi Regular Armies.

It has been four decades since Zor's vessel crashed into Earth in Sol-system. The Robotech Masters' warrior-slaves, the Zentraedi, came to reclaim the precious protoculture, laying waste to most of the Earth in cataclysmic battle, only to have their own race in high on endangered list as four million Zentraedi warships were destroyed & the people of Earth stood triumphant. Fifteen years later, the Robotech Masters have come to finish the job started by their Zentraedi ilks, to retrieve the protoculture matrix for themselves. It taken yet another cataclysmic battle & humanity greater resolves for survival of their species & planet that doomed the entire Robotech Masters civilization to a death knell on Earth’s doorstep.

Triumvirate Clone Society Part I – Developmental Stages

In the later stages of Stellar Age, as Robotechnology progressed thanks to protoculture usage in energy production, Tyrolian bio-science also benefited greatly from protoculture discovery.

Robotech Elders under the guise of Robotech consortium initiate the eugenics experiments to create generic Tyroloid clones. Through fundings & approval by the Stellar Republic’s Senate, Zor Derelda continue his research in the subject matter, that later develops into “sizjentzs” (Tiresian homonym: sit’sentzs, literal meaning: exceeding slave standards) biological programme to develop artificially construct of living beings for use of manual off-world labor, most notably to exploit the Tyrolian vast monopole ore reserves widely available within Fantoma’s ring system. So in 1355AD, the new batches of clones are introduced, known as the Zentraedi, built upon modified giant scaffolding & modified DNA sourced out from spliced junk Tyroloid DNA. As Zentraedi serves Robotech Elders purpose to change the course of the entire Tyrolian history into that of Robotech Imperium, it taken the Robotech Masters own initiative to create new clone society, that will adhere & living to the ideals of the Masters perfect Triumvirate Dogma.

As Robotech Imperium grows, Robotech Elders ordered their heirs, the Robotech Masters in creating entire Triumvirate society, bio-genetically engineered within cloning vats, with false memory engrams & neural programming solely centered on Triumvirate ideologies, with servile disposition to Masters will. With vast Tyroloid DNA storage databanks from whence the Zentraedi are derived from, production of a whole new Triumvirate clone series are activated.

Triumvirate Clone Society Part II – Societal Development

The servile & meek Triumvirate clones steadfast on Triumvirate ideals immediately become the preferential citizens of the Imperium. Practicing & applying Triumvirate caste system for every level of hierarchy within Imperium social strata become the norm. Furthermore, Triumvirate clones are given special rights & become the ultimate social role model upon all Imperium non-clones population must adhere too. At the height of Robotech Civil War that bordered on wholeside genocide of both parties - Republican Robotech Rebels’ Tyrolian independent colonists & the Imperium’s Tyrolian loyalists, the Triumvirate clones comprised less than one tenth of the Imperium total population. Being the favorite of all Masters’ citizens, the Triumvirate societies are spared from the destructive Robotech Civil War, shielded within the massive Azashar class city-ships that become the mobile Headquarters of Robotech Masters.

Destruction of the long running Robotech Civil marked drastic reduction in Imperium native Tyrolians non-clone citizens & non-clone colonists population. In order to repopulate the entire Imperium following the aftermath of the Robotech Civil War, Robotech Masters immediately drastically increased the production of Triumvirate clone series to replace indigenous Tyrolian colonists that perished in the great civil war. New batches of colonists, this time made up solely by Triumvirate clones resettle many Imperium core-worlds, colony worlds & border fringes colonies during the Imperium’s Renaissance Age. The non-clone Tyrolian colonists survivors have to undergone forced relocation back to Tyrol, which they actually preferred & assimilated with native Tyrolians back in their homeworld.

Triumvirate colonists immediately become the majority of the population of the entire Imperium as native Tyrolians now confined to Tyrol itself. Every major administrative hierarchy are controlled by Triumvirate clones whose loyalty to the Triumvirate ideology & Masters bordered on fanatical overzealousness. Emotions are outlawed; individual needs & independent thinkings are squashed under the collective Triumvirate way of life. Unlike that of the Zentraedi, Triumvirate clones stepped out of their cloning vats as mere triplets babies, grown into adulthood with their triumvirate siblings while imbibing Triumvirate propagandas under the umbrella of strict Triumvirate social support institutions & will be integrated to Triumvirate socities soon after reaching adulthood bereft of any familial or personal ties except growing bonds on intuitive level with their own Triumvirate siblings.

The Triumvirate colonists developed their culture solely based on Triumvirate dogmas, that centered on the numerology of three & mystic neo-religious beliefs centered of Triplicate symbol Flower of Life. Theirs fanatical following of the Triumvirate way of life is akin to the false Imperative Dogma instilled on Zentraedi, indeed, the Triumvirate Compulsion is instilled during neural re-programming of the false engrams imprinted on every Triumvirate clone series. So sinister of total control practiced by Masters in ensuring capitulation of their entire clone societies would be the integration of Cosmic Harp melodies that become the inimitable & embedded facet of Triumvirate culture. Cosmic Harp tunes supposedly to elicits calm & docileness within Triumvirate life, actually worked on subconscious minds of every Triumvirate clones, suppressing any primitive emotions & killing off any inedependent thought processes on psychological level on each Triumvirate clones.

Triumvirate clones continued to dominate the Imperium civilisation throughout Renaissance Age, becoming the prime factor for Robotech continuum continuation. However, as a society living on pre-programmed & structured Triumvirate ideals that prohibited individual expressions & basic freedom of thinkings, the Masters clones are slowly degenerated beneath intellectual & mental progress that continue to evolve in other alien species, even repressed native Tyrolians also still highly independent, despite restrictions by their (often described – over generous Colonial Triumvirate Governors) Triumvirate overlords on Tyrol. Only higher ranked members of Triumvirate castes - safe for Robotech Masters themselves – the Clone Masters & Science Masters (even Muses Triumvirates) most often given freer, but limited reins on their thought processes simply to serve their purposes for political, military tactical & social decisions made still in accordance to Triumvirate Dogma & alongside scientific advancement solely for the Robotech Imperium.

Given that (safe for higher ranked Triumvirates) majority of Triumvirate civilian clone population are derived from genetic database of native Tyrolians from philosophers, merchant & artisan classes, these Triumvirate clones are generally more pacifists in nature. Triumvirate clones also are far more dependent towards Masters than that of semi independent & highly aggressive Zentraedi, in almost every fields of social developments. For military & security matters, the Triumvirates colonists depended entirely on Zentraedi Regular Armies & autonomous Tyrolian Border Fleet. The industrial products mainly come from various non-labor intensive, unmanned automated Robotech manufacturing centers strewn throughout the Imperium coreworlds. Meanwhile for the vibrant trade & commerce within the vast Imperium, the enterprising Karbarrans, the alien citizens of the Imperium controlled with majority impunity & for critical industries such as agro-farming production centers & monopole mining facilities manned by Garudans conscripts laborers.

Unbeknownst to Triumvirate colonists whose lifestyle they themselves regarded as the highest expression of Robotech civilization, other non-clone Imperial citizens, the myriad Sentinels alien species on Imperial alien worlds & the native Tyrolians on Tyrol; despite severe restrictions over their lifestyle, are free to continue with their local traditions & vibrant cultures beneath the shadow of often lackaisaidal Triumvirate Imperial Governors (who, while still steadfast to Triumvirate Dogma, but over the years of direct interaction with cultured non-clone natives often ‘softened them up’ to various degree of cultural exposure).

The late Renaissance Age also marked the eventual stagnant of Triumvirate way of life, as Protoculture crises hits all time low. As 1st Robotech War spelled doom towards their goliath clone cousins, the Zentraedi, the outcome of that war with Terrans also forced the Masters to undertake drastic course of action. One can best summed up the entire frantic & desperate measures from a chapter of highly popular Col. (ret) Mahmoud Abbas’ Genesis: 2nd Robotech War overview that is included herein.

Addendum I (Excerpts taken from Genesis: 2nd Robotech War overview)

THE DECAY OF AN EMPIRE – THE MASTERS EXODUS

With the destruction of Gorg BoDolza Fleet (Dolza’s Grand Fleet) in Sol System during 2011AD & subsequent capture of Zentraedi Factory Satellite by UEF space force in 2013AD effectively crippled the Robotech Imperium defence capacity from hostile forces. The entire 4th Quadrant & the vast Robotech Masters Empire, instability & lawlessness slowly prevail as result of deteriorating security situation & most notably protoculture crises that hit the Empire from 2012 – 2018AD.

To fill the vacuum leaves behind by Zentraedi Regular Armies that perished alongside Dolza in Sol-system, the vaunted far-flung Zentraedi Borderers (of Tyrolian Border Forces) are recall back to defend the Empire. But the Robotech Masters citizens in its Imperial colonies, even Tyrol & many other alien species whose homeworlds are part of Imperium colonial assets, never actually realized the severity of the security & protoculture crises that are going to jeopardize the Empire’s future into the gutter. As for Robotech Masters, preparation has begun to finish the job that Dolza & his Zentraedi have never been able to finish, the retrieval of the last protoculture matrix aboard SDF-1.

Robotech Elders, the triumvirate figureheads on the Empire throne, decree that for the sake of the Empire, the protoculture matrix retrieval mission is critical & paramount. Robotech Masters are given free hand to use all readily available resources that the Empire has, including limited protoculture supplies still available at their disposal to organize the mission. However, the Tyrolian Border Forces (whose 2/3rd of its personnels are comprised by Zentraedi Borderers) are held back to defend the Empire from external threat, in order not to repeat the same debacle that befallen the Zentraedi Regular Armies, a possible widespread cultural contamination. This time around, only the emotionless Robotech Masters artificial triumvirate clones will be the ones to reclaim the lost Robo-Grail half a galaxy away.

The mobilization of the best triumvirate clones are organized throughout the Empire, with the elite Imperial Bioroid Forces taking the lead in matter of future conflict with the accursed micronians. Robotech Masters mobilize atleast 12 Azashar class flagships, alongside hundreds of Assault Cruisers & even Taul-Detrel System Destroyers in tow. As the best & finest of the Empire military machines, with the last protoculture supplies that the Empire still has & crewed by the Masters own clones assemble near their homeworld, the Masters Imperial Armada disappears from the Imperium in 2014AD & travel to Sol-System through a 15 year journey by impulse drive, in order to minimize their already depleted protoculture supplies.

Triumvirate Clone Society Part III – Social Structure & Hierarchy

As Triumvirate way of life deeply connected with numerology of three, it still retains the vestiges of early Republican Tyrolian social ranks, such as patricians, philosophers, artisans & military classes, but adapted to perverted Triumvirate societal structures. This chapter will addressed the Triumvirate societal hierarchy as prevalent during the Renaissance Age up to the closing act of 2nd Robotech War as practiced by Triumvirate clones.

The Original Masters of the Universe - Robotech Elders

Not much is known of the three individuals that by machinations & force toppled the Stellar Republic & created the Robotech Mercantile Empire. Sufficed to note, from scant surviving history records that the 3 individuals are the topmost scientists favored by the Stellar Republic’s Senatorial committee, alongside Zor Derelda, were crowned as Robotech Masters for outstanding achievement for latter’s research in the robotechnology, scientific cornerstone pioneered by the 1st Robotech Master, Zor himself. The Robotech Elders themselves were not clones, but triplicate twin siblings with above par intellectual abilities, whose capitalistic ventures & skills are also undeniable. Interestingly, these early Masters, from whom where all successive Robotech Masters Triumvirates claimed direct genetic descendants, were known by their respective names: Nimuul, Fallagar & Hepsis.

Successful in monopolizing & pioneering every fields of Robotechnology research through their capitalist venture, the Robotech Consortium, it is their shadowy & illegal eugenics experiments on early Triumvirate clones that will ultimately reshaped the Robotech Elders destiny. They immediately seized the chance to topple the Stellar Republic via Zentraedi minions, & immediately set the course for Robotech Imperium.

Robotech Elders claimed immortality through life extension programmes, until they pioneered memory transfer programmes upon which their personalities were transferred to new clone bodies after their old bodies expired (their new clone bodies are specialized Zosuma, Zosumu & Zosumo Triumviroid elite series – reserved for Elders usage only). To keep their mental geniuses lived on; they created new artificial clones of themselves, the successive Robotech Masters to carry on their Triumvirate legacies. Many historians will admit, despite Robotech Elders excesses, the Tyrolian greatest Golden Age are credited not only to Zor Derelda, but also to political, scientific & tactical abilities of Robotech Elders that marked the rapid rise of Robotech Mercantile Empire that saw establishment of somewhat benign (of course dictatorial regime) & accommodating administration plus robust economic development & diplomatic achievement.

Surprisingly liberal towards their non-clone Tyrolians subjects during Imperium Golden Age, who at that time were the majority as compared to early experimental Triumvirate societies that only confined within Masters cityships, Robotech Elders finally descended to old-age paranoia. Ever fearful of their grip on power, it taken one of them, their own trusted colleague, Zor Derelda to instigate the divisiveness between Robotech Elders’ Triumvirate ideology & the Robotech Mercantile Empire rival – the Tyrolian Colonies Republic, an autonomous independent entities that favors old Stellar Republican ways. The ideological confrontation turned from heated intellectual exchanges to outright armed rebellions upon which forced Robotech Elders into effectively declared martial law. The Robotech Civil War started as a holy war as Imperium faction & Republican faction each declared crusade for their own ideological standings.

Despite besting their Robotech Rebels, collectively known as ‘Disciples of Zor’, after more than 2 centuries worth of destruction that brought the Empire into ashes, Robotech Elders were a spent force. As Robotech Elders successfully wrest power from Stellar Republic’s Senate, it taken their ilks, the 1st Robotech Master Triumvirate immediately to repeat the same history by wresting the power of the Imperium from Robotech Elders & only restored them as mere symbol of Robotech civilization. At long last, Robotech Elders occupied the highest rank within the Triumvirate culture, but bereft of any power except that of traditional figures on top of Triumvirate hierarchy, the very dogma they pioneered, centuries before.

It is their final fates continued to be debatable, as there are evidence that Robotech Elders did not joined the Robotech Imperial Armada exodus to Earth, but recent information from Masters refugees suggested that Robotech Elders indeed caught up with the Imperial Armada in the late stages of 2nd Robotech War. If that is the case, one can surmised that Robotech Elders – Nimuul, Fallagar & Hepsis – perished alongside their civilization on the doorstep of Terran homeworld.

It is also interesting to note that Robotech Elders, by means of artificial neural conduit, able to communicate telepathically with their Robotech clones, the same traits inherited by their Robotech Masters clone series with bio-genetic improvements.

The Overlords of Robotechnology - Robotech Masters Triumvirate

The First Robotech Master Triumvirate are direct genetic copies of their progenitors, the Robotech Elders. Responsible in the early years of Robotech Mercantile Empire as military administrators of Zentraedi Regular Armies & overseers of Triumvirate cloning development project, they are the heirs of Robotech Elders. As Robotech Elders concentrated to administer the Empire & busily controlling the Empire’s growing economies, the Robotech Masters are tasked in charge of overall internal & external security matters via the Zentraedi Regular Armies & leading further development of Triumvirate societies aboard Masters mobile city-ships. Robotech Masters didn’t come to prominence until the Robotech Civil War commences, as during pre-Robotech Civil War period, Robotech Elders still heavily reliant towards Tyrolian non-clone Patrician & Senatorial classes to fill in administrative positions within planetary & colonial level.

As Robotech Civil War erupted, the Robotech Masters, particularly of the 1st Robotech Masters Triumvirate are immediately given broad executive & even punitive powers by ever ineffective Elders. These newfound responsibilities & commanding abilities, compounded with realization that they alone can dictate the outcome of the Holy War, gave these Robotech Masters confidence to independently interpret any orders by Robotech Elders to suit Masters own interest, & slowly but surely, the usurpation of Robotech Masters upon Robotech throne almost assured. Using Robotech Elders inefficiency in handling the destructive Robotech Civil War, the 1st Robotech Masters Triumvirate with the virtual assent from other Robotech Masters Triumvirates, seized power shortly after the conclusion of Robotech Civil War. The other Robotech Masters Triumvirates (in total 12 triplicate individuals – of Desu, Dera & Demi Triumviroid elite clone series), themselves direct copies of the 1st Robotech Masters Triumvirate, become Fleet Commanders within Imperial Armada flotillas, as each Masters commanded their own cityships & respective assigned battlegroups.

The 1st Robotech Masters are the prime mover of the Renaissance Era of the Imperium, responsible for massive re-colonisation efforts to replace drastically reduced Imperium non-clone populations post Robotech Civil War with Triumvirate clones. They virtually created far more repressive Robotech regime than that of former accommodative Elder’s pre Robotech Civil War’s Imperium, relegated native & non-clones Tyrolians as 2nd class citizens, limiting their roles to non administrative tasks. Eventually, all native Tyrolians are forbidden from space travel, save only to Tyrol & its immediate vicinities within Valivarre system, as to reduce contacts between cultured Tyrolians & the Triumvirate colonists, who by now as post Robotech Civil War era, the majority of the Robotech Imperium population.

The 1st Robotech Masters Triumvirate – Shaizan, Bowkaz & Dag – by now inheriting the more mundane tasks of administrating the entire Imperium, had to finally given significant autonomy towards the now growing Zentraedi Regular Armies. In terms of economies, Karbarrans who have being somewhat Imperium loyalists & most enduring citizens, are given monopolies & lucrative contracts, replacing the defunct pre-Robotech Civil War’s Tyrolian merchant classes (most perished during that war). Masters, in every aspect resembled the Robotech Elders physically & mentally in some extent, unfortunately do not possessed Robotech Elders’ wealth-making abilities & trade acumen. However, these Robotech Masters still maintain high degree of personal traits, with Shaizan as primed & tuned for as head of administration & inherited organizational skills, Bowkaz as head of military & inherited tactical judgements; while Dag as the head of scientific research & inherited intellectual abilities.

While Elders lacked in despotic resolves & sound tactical military judgements, their heirs have those qualities in spade, with the creation of elite Imperial Bioroid Forces & semi autonomous Tyrolian Border Fleet that answers solely to Masters wills. Alas, Robotech Masters also inherited their progenitors flaws, their dependence towards Zor Derelda, who still commanded great respect as father of Robotechnoloy & a mythic figure within Triumvirate lore. The 1st Robotech Master, Zor Derelda, this time mellowed by old age, engineered the Imperium downfall by withholding the true fertile Flower of Life & placating Masters by supplying infertile seeds sown from mutant Flower of Life. His death during an Invid ambush on one of his reseeding missions & subsequent realization that Zor Derelda managed to dupe the Masters by concealing the true whereabouts of the only available protoculture matrix served as prime example how Masters; like Elders simply lose out in long term calculated mind games with the late Zor.

With the Zentraedi Regular Armies destruction in 1st Robotech War in Sol System, Robotech Masters taken a calculated risks with Imperial Armada in tow, to retrace the their goliaths path to Sol-system & wrest back the protoculture matrix that rightfully theirs. Sufficed to say, this is not so much of a misjudgement as Masters do not leave the Imperium defenceless during this exodus, with Tyrolian Border Fleets taking up defensive positions all over Imperium. However, by doing so at the height of acute & severe energy crises that ultimately putting Masters as virtual despots caring only for their greed & power above that toward the fates of their Triumvirate citizens, native Tyrolians & Sentinels aliens alike.

In 2nd Robotech War, Masters again displayed their outstanding tactical abilities, unfortunately, their military successes were marred by protoculture shortages, & inimitable cultural contamination. However, one must realized, should Robotech Masters Imperial Armada arrived in Sol-System fully charged with fully stocked protoculture supplies, Terrans defenders would find themselves already conquered by new alien overlords instead of the Invid. However, as history shown otherwise, the Imperial Armada despite besets with acute protoculture shortages, fought on & brought humanity to its knees, practically fighting even one on one infantry duels until the destruction of the last of Masters flagships. The Robotech Masters civilization fought with great tenacity to the last breath, & nearly brought their enemy, the humanity down with them. The pyrrhic victory by humanity in 2nd Robotech War shown the tenacity of the Triumvirate clones & their ruthless leadership, the 1st Robotech Master Triumvirate. Ironically, it also taken a Zor-clone, this time Zor Prime – resurrected by Masters to lead elite Imperial Bioroid Forces - to finally exact personal vendetta against Masters by personally assassinating them, & ended the Triumvirate myth of immortality once & for all.

The Will of the Triumvirate - Clone Masters Triumvirate

On the third Triumvirate Hierarchy is the Clone Masters. In effect, Clone Masters serve 3 distinct purposes; political leaders & representative of Triumvirate clones, military strategists & tacticians, last but not least, the authoritative figures in controlling & enforcing Triumvirate Dogma upon Triumvirate masses. Most often than not, Clone Masters are the extension of their overlords, the Robotech Masters Triumvirates.

Clone Masters Triumvirate series are culled from the DNA databanks of original Tyrolian Senatorial class, with added cunnings & inherited the best qualities genes available from the clone series. To further improve the series, competitiveness qualities are pre-programmed into the selective Clone Masters Triumvirates. Unlike their Triumvirate subordinates, the Clone Masters are grown straight into adulthood from the cloning vats. Clone Masters series also are given less mental neural reprogramming, giving them to make selective collective decisions based on Triumvirate conditionings.

The 1st Clone Masters (Vieda, Viea & Viera Triumvirate clone series) served as Political Triumvirate aboard the Masters cityships, & while other sub-branch Clone Masters from specialised Prime series served as Triumvirate Battle Masters commanding the Triumviroid (lesser Bioroid pilots) pilots of Imperial Bioroid Forces. The Triumvirate Battlefield Commanders are directly responsible for every tactical moves & countermoves of the Bioroid sentries & Bioroid warriors on the combat fields. These combat specialised Clone Masters, in units of three, initiate direct controlling, direction & manoeuvring capabilities of elite Imperial Bioroid Forces to function as a logical combat force via telepathic manipulation as they’re able to channel much needed aggressions through the actions of the Bioroid pilots.

The 1st Clone Masters, especially the Political Triumvirate series controlled the non-combatant Triumvirate clones, worker bioroids, & providing Triumvirate societies with a semblance of administrative Triumvirate political structure. On major Imperium core-worlds & colonies, these Clone Masters served within their capacity as civilian administrators holding coveted post of Imperial Governor Triumvirate. As closing days of the Imperium begun with Invid crusade, many Clone Masters series; the Political Triumvirates that served as Imperial Governors & their Triumvirate Battle Masters perished alongside their Triumvirate colonists against the crusading Invid. All over the Empire, tales of epic, most often tragic stand off of desperate Triumvirate leaders, undoubtedly of Clone Masters fended off & sacrificing their lives alongside their Triumvirates survivors in one final charge against Invid invaders evoke deep feeling of respect & honor towards these fallen heroes. However, one can also argue the fates that befell the Clone Masters of the Imperial Armada that blockaded Earth in 2nd Robotech War, as they committed war crimes against humanity. Not even one triumvirate of Clone Masters series from Imperial Armada survived the 2nd Robotech War.

However, only two extraordinary cases where the Clone Masters of Political Triumvirates resisted their Triumvirate conditionings, whereby they’re the Imperial Governors of the two minor colony worlds that escaped Invid wrath & engineered the mass evacuation of their triumvirate colonists by negotiating & bribing the Tyrolian Border Fleet commanders to help relocate the 8 million strong Triumvirate clones to the Pirate’s Cluster. Those 2 Triumvirates overcome their Triumvirate compulsion by switching loyalties not to the Imperium & Masters, simply for the survival of their Triumvirate colonists wards & their Borderers patrons. Not surprisingly, they also cannot resisted the ‘cultural contamination’ tactics that SDF-3 used to pacify the Pirate’s Cluster inhabitants after years of harsh survival (when they become space pirates alongside the Borderers). These Clone Masters also instrumental in ending hostilities between the Triumvirates & UEEF by inking alliance that finally brought UEEF to Valivarre system & Tyrol in particular.

It is interesting to note that Clone Masters series that become Imperial Governors on Tyrol, & that of Sentinels worlds are not cultural resistance, having imbibing local & alien cultures while in residence. Although one has to concede that these ‘culturally-contaminated’ Clone Masters (of Tyrol & Sentinels worlds Imperial Governor Triumvirates, these Clone-Masters series are derived from Merchant class genetics) are of lesser qualities from their Clone Masters Triumvirates counterparts on Masters cityships & that of Political Triumvirates that hold the reins with Triumvirate colonists dominated the Masters colonies. This indeed intentional on Masters’ part, as the flexible Political Triumvirates are needed to administer cultured worlds under Imperium Dominion. Such is the case with the independent minded of the ‘cultured’ Clone Masters Imperial Governors, whom by all accounts survived the wave of Invid invasion by simply living off the generosity of their alien hosts, generally well protected by their former alien subjects. In the most bizarre cases, they lead Sentinels anti Invid resistance units on Garuda, Praxis even Tyrol.

Addendum II:

At the point of these writings, surviving Clone Masters series, especially the enterprising former Imperial Governor Triumvirates of Tyrol, Praxis, Karbarra, Peryton, Garuda & Spheris have successfully assimilated into New Tyrol Republic. Due to their popularity to their former alien subjects, these former Imperial Governors by default become Tyrolian ambassadors to the respective Sentinels worlds. In other respects, the former Tyrol’s Imperial Governor Triumvirate returned to their old roots, embracing their genetics progenitor of Merchant class, by becoming the most successful Tyrolian conglomerate & successfully lobbying the lucrative contract from New Tyrol Republic to run refurbished automated factories & manufacturing centers on Tyrol. As for the two former Imperial Governors of Clone Masters triumvirates that led 8 millions Triumvirate colonists from Invid depradations, they’ve been elected to serve as Senators to their respective regions on Tyrol by the New Tyrol Republic.
