Back in the Comet Empire throne room...

Kirk: "So, what's the dating scene like here?"

Sabera: "I'm the only female."

I suspect the reboot is going to change that...just as they did with the Yamato's expanded female crew roster.

From what I've seen on Cruchyroll and Funimation, nope, she's still the only female, but she gets cloned everytime Zwarder kills her, and there's a version of her in the body of a human woman aboard Yamato.

Okay...that's different.
Maybe not...Crossovers Captain Rei (Ayanami) Hunter: "Do you wish asylum?"

Roy Fooker... easy on the eyes, but once you get to know him, even Toombs starts to look good.

Not quite THAT bad...Though admittedly the late unlamented Toombs DID have a girlfriend at one time, even a FLAWED clone of Roy Fokker has enough masculinity to overshadow Toombs...or so Toombs might believe(or did, in the short time he was alive long enough to know that there WAS a clone of Roy Fokker bopping about...I imagine Toombs' thought processes would have run along the lines of 'somebody hates me so much they brought that bastard Fokker back from the grave just to railroad my career!'

As mentioned before, Toombs might have been a shoe-in , attitude-wise, for T.R. Edward' little cabal, but Edwards was looking for RELIABLE lackeys, and didn't even see Toombs as decent cannon-fodder. In short, Toombs wasn't even a USEFUL moron, just a moron.

Tessa: "Um sir, why are you punching number in the navigation panel?"

Kirk: "Chris Pine is out... Now it's my time. HERE I COME J.J.!!!"

"Captain! Is that...Earth?"
"No, can't be."
"Why not?!"
"Too quiet. Nobody's shooting at us. Nobody's hailing us. Looks too easy to me. Either that's a fake, a sensor display malfunction...or a trap."
"..hate to admit it, the Captain might be right."
"Yeah...sorry, sir, my enthusiasm got the better of me."
"S'right, we all have hopes that get dashed. Log the incident and plot the next course jump."

UESS Gargoyle:
“Captain, we’re making an approach on the target world…we’re getting sensor returns of …breathable atmosphere, temperate climate, abundant water….chlorophyll…there’s plants down there! It’s Earth-like!”
“Strange…the surface looks oddly familiar.”
“Mapping geographical features…hmm..take away the water and the atmosphere…Sir, it’s a match for Earth’s Moon…minus the giant crater on the backside that’s now an ocean basin.”
“Wait a minute…Earth’s Moon, all the way out here, traveling at those speeds? Hey, any sign of surface habitation?”
“Checking, sir. Signs of structures, getting a match…”
“It’s Moonbase Alpha, right?”
“Confirmed, sir.”
“Well, let’s say hello to our fellow wanderers and see what they’ve been up to, shall we?”
(Later)
“Damage report!”
“WE got away just in time, sir! Another hit and we’d have been scattered back to the Big Bang!”
“Where the hell did they get all those Eagles?! Or whatever those things were?! Moonbase Alpha never had WARSHIPS!”
“Yessir, those WERE Eagle-derived designs.”
“But how?! Koening barely had enough resources to replace damaged Eagles! How’d he get off fielding a fleet of FIGHTERS and ATTACK CRAFT?!”
“Captan, I think I have an explanation. That was Space 1999 Expanded Universe Moon!”
“Expanded Universe?! huh????!”
“Extrapolation file on the future of Moonbase Alpha. Mainly on Eagle design technology, by Col. Macarty. I recognized the designs. Seems the rest of the timeline caught up with the tech speculation. I’d hazard a guess that Moonbase Alpha took the prediction that their population would expand to fill the galaxy to heart and they adapted alien technology to terraform the Moon and expand their tech-base and populatation. They also built themselves a fleet, sir, including better defenses.”
“And they somehow took a disliking to us, apparently.”
“They may have come in contact with the OTHER Moonbase Alpha. We left them with…a bit of a wrong impression.”
“All we did was try to help them back to their own Earth with the idea that of one big blast took them out of Earth orbit, ANOTHER opposite blast should send them back!”
"Practice didn't live up to theory."

The thing was, when they told Starsha that they wanted to use Wave Motion Weapons against the Gargoyle. Not only did she not object, she actually suggested a number of improvements to the design.

Given the reality/time/space-warping the Gargoyle often does, it's entirely possible that the Gargoyle might have had something to do with the slow extinction of the Iscandarians...

Kirk: "And here, in her honor, I had adopted Iscandarian fashion as the official women's uniform for the Gargoyle crew..."

Fooker enters the bridge dressed as Sasha Iscander...

Kirk: "I SAID, AS THE WOMEN'S UNIFORM!!!"

The dress was actually the issue-uniform of one of the female midshipmen.
Fooker accidentally donned it in a hurry when he realized he was late for his rotation shift on the bridge as CAG.
The midshipman, of course, wound up wearing Fooker's uniform for her own dutysheet.
The ghost of Toombs, of course, assumed that Fooker had changed gender....
