The guy is sitting on his thrown when the party comes in and then he stands up as the PC reaches for the sword and shakes his finger at him, that would be clasic. He can be as tough as you want him to be or you think he needs to be. Throw some MDC magic armor on him and you have a nice fight for your knight that he will remember. You can plug in some cool dialog as needed. Hope it helps!

In the book, he DID throw down with the skeleton...
I'd have one of the Host of Darkness guard it.

No, how about a Dark Behemoth? Psyscape page 92. They're quite big, very nasty, and i'd have to check my sources, but i believe they're all bastards too.

They haven't picked her prison yet, so I was thinking his tomb would do. :P

Go for an original creation to throw off anybody who might have read the books you own. A good baseline to start from are these two spells: Fragile Bone to M.D.C. Bone and Animate and Control Dead (any of the three versions). Give it a couple of nasty surprise abilities, such as Stench of the Dead, Poison Touch, and Death Strike. If you're feeling really evil, give it Strength of the Dead.

Then, of course, you would drape it in the appropriate magical armor and arm it with the weapon the knight is looking for.

whatever. none of those things mentioned compare with a Dark Behemoth.
c'mon...mummies? syphon entities? godlings? LAME.
Drop in The Beast from Dark Conversions page 35. Drop in two or three. And make them ill-tempered.
