Brackishwater in the Coastal Bend Pecos Empire

Unread post by shadrak »

Setting: Southeast Texas, just north of Victoria, PA 108-109, 2 years after Warlord Don Marco's failed attempt to invade the coast and place it under his control.

BRACKISHWATER

Brackishwater is a secluded, heavily wooded area surrounding a small lake where a scores of escaped Splugorth slaves reside. The forest consists of a mix of Oak and Pecan trees. The Oaks of this particular woods have grown to an average height of more than 150 feet. The pecan trees tend to grow along the shore of the lake and reach heights of nearly 120 feet.

The canopy of this forest is pretty dense, but, from the ground, there is considerable room to move between the trees. Perhaps the reason this section of forest contains so many trees that are so large is that a small group of Jungle Elves settled here nearly 200 years ago.

This area is defended by five giant robot guardians that were rifted into the area more than five years ago that have clashed repeatedly with outsiders including Horune and Splugorth Slavers. There are rumors of abandoned Glitterboys tucked away in this wilderness as well.

Note: The five "Giant Robots" are 3 VRRDS Samurai and 2 VRRDS Mikado that were rifted into the area years ago during a battle with enemies from the KLS Corporation. The Rift tore the pilots from their location on the Moon Base and inadvertently created transferred intelligences. Two of the robots are looking forward to "death" in battle, one is going insane, and the remaining two would like to find a way to continue to maintain their existence despite the fact that their robot bodies have not had any opportunity to be repaired. The "abandoned" Glitterboys are three suits of Old-Style Glitter Boy Mk IV whose pilots perished when they were rifted into the area these Glitterboys are almost in pristine condition (so long as you ignore the dirt).

In addition to the nearly 250 jungle elves that live in the forest, there are also quite a few escaped Splugorth slaves that have come here knowing that the Jungle Elves will welcome them.
Currently, there are about 100 escaped Splugorth slaves living in the area including a couple of Adaroks that are able to hide in these woods. Most of these escapees consist of Hawrk-duhk, Shaydor Spherians, Octomen, Nurilian Plant People, Pythonians, Rulians, and Were-Dragons plus a small group of human, ogres, and a dozen Jungle Elves.

There is also an anti-Splugorth force that hunt Splugorth and Horune slavers from the relative safety of the woods. Their intent, of course, is to prevent the Splugorth from finding the sanctuary and, for many of them, to engage in the joy of slaughtering their one-time masters. The group consists of roughly a dozen Staphra including two Staphra Warlords, four Altera Blind Warrior Women, a True Atlantean Undead Slayer, a MaxiMen, a T-Monster Man, two Tattooed Archers, and four T-Men. Additionally, there are five Bio-Borgs and two Maxi-Killers.

ADVENTURE HOOK: One or two of the VRRDS robots would like to get out of his giant body and live a more normal life. Can the players help him? Perhaps, in return, the transferred intelligence can help the players get a Mark V Glitterboy?

I approve, greatly. :ok: :bandit:
