E-mail has been sent! I'm still working out which adventures I want to run this time, but I know the number of games I want to run and which days, so that's what I've sent to you.

More details will come soon!

Greetings and Salutations. As things stand now, I still intend to go (though a few current situations are making that questionable). I've even bought my tickets (V.I.P. Night included). If I do make it, I intend to run a couple of games. One would be a South-Winds adventure for PF and one probably a zombie game for Phase World (where I mostly ignore the rules for Palladium zombies in favor of fun). However, I have not run an in real life game in... well, a very long time. I haven't even run games much at all recently. I'm unsure of the time frames for these games or the number of players I'd be able to handle. These factors (along with the still uncertainty of attending) has caused me not to file any official games yet. Just to keep you informed. Farewell and safe journeys 'til the Open House.

I have no idea of actually travel timeline seeing as I am only coming for the one day. Also, seeing as my main intention is to meet some people I have only conversed with via the internet, running games could take away from that. If I were going for the weekend then I'd definitely be up to running something. Perhaps the next time around in 2017? :D (Since this seems to be becoming a every two year event :) )
I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree :D

Actually it varies, sometimes its two years, sometimes its three years. It seems to depend a lot on what PB has going on internally.

I've never run or played in a game at a convention setting. Is this something that should hold me back from running a game at the Open House?

Cool! Now just take your time and plan things out, and you should be fine. I believe there are some youtube videos that can help you with this if you need them, and they are for Palladium games. I believe its From the Rifts.

Hi zyanitevp,

So I pulled this from the 2012 Open House Game List thread/sticky

The Galactus Kid wrote:Post the following information here AND send it to palladium-gm@palladiumbooks.com

FOR EACH EVENT YOU PLAN ON RUNNING, PALLADIUM NEEDS THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:

YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE FOR YOUR GM SHIRT

Name of the Game
Palladium Game Line
Brief Description
Minimum and Maximum player
Length of game (typically 3 to 4 hours, sometimes longer)
Will pre-gen characters be provided?
Age Requirement
Day and time you would like to run

I am assuming that you'd like us to submit the info for the games we're planning to run at the 2015 POH along the same lines..?

So I'm also a sucker for merchandise, and I see that running three games gets me a special T-shirt. My concern is that if I submit to run three games, will I have time to actually play in any of the other amazing games or go to any panel discussions? How long should a game in this environment last for, anyway? If submitting/offering to run more than one game, should all three be different?

While I am not an employee of PB, I can answer your questions from my own past experiences at the 2010 and 2012 POHs.

Yes - even if you run three games, you should have plenty of time to play in other games and attend panels if you are attending more than one day. If you are only attending for one day, then trying to get it all in would be difficult, to say the least.

Average game times at the POH seem to run from 2 - 4 hours, though I have seen some shorter and some longer.

You can run three different games or one game three different times, its up to you. I've seen it done both ways. However, the majority of game masters seem to run different games mostly. However, at the last POH I originally signed up to run three games, but once there were so many people who couldn't get into games that I volunteered to do two more, re-running two that I'd already done. All seemed to be enjoyed.

I would highly encourage signing up to GM at the POH - it is so much fun!

Typically a convention game which the POH is runs at 4 hours, much longer really should be broken into 2 parts. If it is a demo or intro type game 2 hours is usually pretty good but have seen some done in just 1 hour.

I normally run games only once per convention unless it requires a lot of setup like my Dwarven Forge/minis game which I run twice as it takes so long to setup and take down.

LOL. I wouldnt be comfortable running Rifts in front of die hard fans. I'll let someone else take up the mantle (but I would enter in it)!

Has this information always been in the online store description of the 2015 Palladium Open house, near the bottom of the page? Or was it recently updated/added? Because I don't remember seeing this.

************************************
POH Game Masters Needed!!!!
************************************

If you are a quality Game Master with experience, you are coming to the Palladium Open House, and would like to run one or more gaming events at the POH, please contact us as soon as possible.

We especially want our “creators” – freelance writers and artists – and Megaversal Ambassadors, to run several events throughout the Open House. I’ll be running 2-4 a day, depending on the day.

G.M.s who are scheduled, in advance (PLEASE, no later than March 15, 2015), to run 3 or more events will get a special T-shirt and a 30% discount on all Palladium product purchases (does NOT apply to auction items, concessions, toys, prints or artwork).

What we will need from G.M.s:

    RPG/world setting (Rifts®, Robotech®, HU2, Fantasy, BTS, Ninjas & Superspies, etc.).

Game Description: A brief, but dynamic description of the game.

Maximum number of players: 6-10 is typical, but run what YOU feel comfortable with running.

Running time: 3-4 hours is typical, and best for these kinds of events, longer can be a problem.

What days you can run: VIP Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

When: Do you have a preferred time of day you want to run? If so, what is it (10 AM, noon, 8:00 PM, what)? If we can not give you that time slot will you run earlier or later?

Multiple games: If you are running multiple times, is it the same game? If different games, provide all this information for EACH.

Please bring pre-rolled “player” character sheets: Pre-rolled character sheets/descriptions for each player is strongly advised. Why waste time rolling up characters? Let’s game!

Minimum age of the players: Especially if the game has mature content or extreme violence. Please indicate if it is not suitable for players under the age of 17.

    • YOUR T-shirt size: You will want this shirt.

    I.D. & contact info:
      Your real name
      Street address
Telephone/Cell number (an alternative number optional)
      Email address

NOTE: If you commit to running games at the POH you must be serious and MUST be available to run your games. Do not disappoint gamers from around the globe by being unprepared or absent. You also have to purchase your own admission ticket.

Preliminary schedule has been sent out via email to those that have submitted. We do still need more gm's, especially for Splicers, Nightbane, Heroes, and Dead Reign.

I finally just broke down and submitted to run three games - One each for Chaos Earth, Nightbane, and Heroes Unlimited.

A copy of the preliminary schedule was e-mailed out by zyanitevp a couple of weeks ago to - I believe - all the people who had signed up to be game masters - at least, I got a copy of it, along with a request to let him know of any issues. I'm pretty sure he wants to make sure all the GM's are good to go before making the schedule public, instead of posting it then having to do a bunch of revisions.

Don't know and don't want to put words in their mouths since the schedule I have is a couple of weeks old and sure to have had a least a few changes to it since it was sent to me. What I can say is that the games on the preliminary schedule look pretty sweet so far.

Of course, we could always use more GM's running more games... :D

In the latest weekly update released on Friday, Feb 26th Kevin wrote that they still needed Game Masters for the Open House.

Yes, we need more! We especially need more right now, as I will be gone come 3/4 for 3 weeks- and therefore the schedule will come to a screeching halt- and then be closed come April 1st- at least that is the goal!

Hey! First time back on the Forums for a while. My Husband is sending in three games today that he would like to run, but the gm@palladiumbooks.com bounced back. Anywhere else we can send it?
I May also want to run a few games. Would it be too late to send them in next week? What types of games do you have so far?

Elly
