Enlightened Immortals + Half-Living OCC

Unread post by Tor »

If you gain enlightenment so that you reincarnate upon death, and are put into a coma by a zombie and survive so you switch to the Half-Living OCC, what would happen if you died?

Half-Living all becomes zombies when they die so it's part of a larger question of what happens if you become a zombie... does the zombie have to be killed before you can reincarnate? Or has your soul already left so you could in theory come back to life as a kid and fight your old zombie self?

What I'm wondering though, is whether the properties of the OCC would be retained. Has Brulyx stained your soul so that you would change the fetus you infest into a half-zombie as well and be born semi-undead kind of like in Z-Nation recently?

It would seem to me that the body would re-animate as a zombie, and the immortal's soul would re-incarnate as per normal.

You would return to normal when your half-living state dies and you reincarnate again. nothing would be retained.

A corilalry question would be related to Enlightened Immortals and the Vampires Slow kill. Would the EI's soul be trapped as part of the vampire or would it be impossible for a EI to be turned into a vamp because it leaves the body to be reincarnated? or are they just immune to a vampires powers in total?

I would say...
None of the above
The body of the EI would turn into a vampire, animated by the essence fragment of the VI. And the soul of the EI would go off to do its thing.

(yes, before anyone asks, as a matter of fact I do follow the "Vampires are not the person they were before" theory)
The rules are not a bludgeon with which to hammer a character into a game. They are a guide to how a group of friends can get together to weave a collective story that entertains everyone involved. We forget that at our peril.

Maybe they're something like a haunting entity where the creature mirrors your memories/emotions really well, enough to fool people into thinking it is?
