IIRC, it gives those who possess WP Sword (or optionally knife) a +1 bonus to strike and parry. When using swords, it also grants a +1D6 bonus to damage. It's said to represent not only western-style fencing, but practices such as kendo as well.

At least that is in regards to the Fencing skill printed in the more recent Palladium books like Dead Reign. It may have been a little different back when N&SS was first printed.

It helps you sell 'slightly used' watches and televisions. :D

I just watched The Social Network and did some reading about Mark Zuckerberg and it turns out he has a fencing background in his private high school. Too bad they never touched on that :(

I will point out that N&S does have a Fencing skill. However, it is in glom'ed together with all the other "Sports" into the Sports skill in the cultural section.

In TMNT&OS it gives a +1 to strike and parry when using a sword.

I've never heard of the +1d6 to damage with a sword. if that's true (can anyone confirm) then it's a must have for all my melee pc's

That's how it's stated in Dead Reign, and in RUE if I'm not mistaken, though I don't have my books to check. I personally think it should be listed among the Ancient W.P.s rather than in Physical skills, but that's really a minor quibble.
