Since we were working for NORAD we had a line of credit that helped us out when buying from NORAD related towns. In most cases it would be barter to get what you need.

Actual Federal Reserve notes have no value, in most cases. However, people still use dollars as a unit of value, especially given Federal Reserve gold and silver coins.
