Bonus Material in Hard Cover edition books

Unread post by Kagashi »

Is it canon or not? Being reprinted in a core book...yet its just a lazy Rifter copy/paste which still includes the words "optional".

What are your thoughts?

Basically...do I need to even bother buying these things?
I want to see from Palladium:
Updated Aug 2015
-Rifts: Dark Woods/Deep South, Space 110 PA, Scandinavia
-Mechanoids: Space (MDC)
-Robotech: Errata for Marines timeline, Masters Deluxe with SC and UEEF gear, Spaceships
-Updated Errata for post-2006 printings of Rifts books
-Searchable, quality PDFs/E-pubs of current Rifts titles

If it's in an official rule book, and it includes the word "optional," then the material is optional canon material.

So... now a lot of you guys must have bought these hardcovers with bonus material, right? (Chaos Earth, Nightbane, After the Bomb, Ninjas & Superspies... is that all of them?)

Would any of you mind listing the Rifter articles they have included in each one (and the Rifters they are taken from, if known), to give us potential buyers an idea of what is on offer? Thanks in advance for your help!

Rifter 83 – Half-Ogres (Palladium Fantasy)
Rifter 84 – Spellbound O.C.C. (Nightbane)
Rifter 85 – Relics of Empire: Elven Cities of the Old Kingdom (Palladium Fantasy)

i listed the Chaos Earth one in the chaos earth section of the forums.
viewtopic.php?f=36&t=178486

and as far as optional vs canon.. the articles are printed exactly as they were in the rifter, so they would remain non-canon 'optional' material just like any other rifter article.

Thanks, Glitterboy2098. Anyone else know the bonus material in the other books?
