A VERY basic rules set with pregen characters on dtrpg. In general and for m Free RPG Day may be free for consumers/gamers, but it definitely has a cost for the publishers. Scoping out the Rifts Primer on DriveThruRPG, it looks like it could be cannibalized into a quickstart fairly easily. Axe some of the GM tips and adventure creation, and it would be a pretty lean introduction to RIFTS. Pregens? Check. Adventure? Check. Rules summary? Check. I think it could work!

According to RPGGeek, they haven't. What would you suggest they provide? I don't think I've seen a quickstart for any of their game lines. Many of the Free RPG Day selections I've picked up over the years have included barebones rules, pregens, and a starter adventure.

Luckily, mixing and matching is pretty dang easy with Palladium Books' games. I believe the Great Horned Dragon (GHD) Hatchling's breath damage is intentionally lower than the Fire Dragon (FD) Hatchling (2D6 vs. 6D6) so the GHD doesn't eliminate the FD's only schtick.
