Re: The most powerful undead in Palladium Books
I think there was a Death Knight monsters in Rifter #14, "Beneath the Surface." I seem to recall that it was very potent, on par with a Master Vampire. A Mock Zombie could conceivably learn an O.C.C., but that isn't strictly allowed in the rules. Yeah, the Immortal Mummies are probably mos...

Re: dead reign midget hound master dog rider
I would tend to agree with DtMK's perspective. My land lady told me about how she used to watch monkeys riding gray hounds at the dog track. Gray hounds don't weigh much more than the monkeys. With a larger dog like a St. Bernard, this should be both possible and feasible. I would like to see such a...

Re: Classifying Supernatural Threats
HU2 is a good choice for running just about any home-brew game. In one comprehensive volume, you've got magic, psionics, aliens, and various types of hardware. That being said, Nightbane: Between the Shadows has an entire chapter about g-men who hunt monsters. I should point out that Beyond the Soup...

I particularly liked the fact that Kevin explained one of his controversial decisions. That's so darn rare. Anyway, the alternate Dead Reign setting is very different and very interesting. I can deal with a lack of faction information so long as the monsters available. That was really the problem Sy...

Ah, but the stories are RPG content also. I use characters from short stories as NPCs all the time. The stories are also a good source of dialog, so all of my PCs don't end up sounding the same. At rare times, I will use a plot or a trick from a story as an adventure basis. I once based an entire Se...

I'm tending to agree with Vidynn. Given a choice between one or the other, I would probably choose the Arcanum book. I'm not comfortable with that answer, really, because I prefer magic-light games. Magic is way too often used as an excuse for making something happen in a story or a game which can't...

No, I hadn't realized that. That interpretation looks basically correct to me. A character with that type of training is supposed to dominate close-quarters in-your-face fighting. First Place: Cyberjacking Across the Megaverse by Wayne Breaux, Issue #2. Many of the Palladium settings are mostly cyber-punk but lack many tropes of that sub-genre. The player is definitely making the character concept work. That part about the big talking puppy is great imagery. In the past, this is how I've handled child-characters. Actually, the Mystic Study Hero in HU-2 is a rather good fit. If you can get past the artwork of the typical Merlin-wannabe character, the class is well suited to BtS-2.
