Re: Destroids, Battloids, Changing Battlefield Doctrine and what everyone basically gets wrong
Tanks are a broad term to indicate tracked combat vehicles. As such 'walking tanks" does fit Destroids. And like tanks, they each have different function. Some are more capable of close combat than others.
Tanks is a very specific term that is often used broadly by those not familiar with the ...

Well a Zentraedi even without a mecha is basically a light mecha still. If you are building a combat force, that's a heck of an advandadge.
But again it seems to be more about their ability as labourers rather than soldiers as the origional reason for the size. High G world or not.

I had made so much house rule and house stat content for N&S and HU back in the day I was ready to pitch it to Kevin as the foundation of a Recon: Modern Combat book back in the 90s, but ended up not. So I am quite curious to see where you go with it.

I see the Battloids as Mechanized Infantry, not Armor.
I have to wonder though if modern classifications might be off for this. What if the way modern armies develop their mecha roles doesn't translate easily to Robotech (or other scifi/anime mecha) but might work better under "outdated ...

Front heavy can be a useful trait in a weapon that generates a lot of recoil either due to its high power, it's high rate of fire, or both. It help keeps the barrel alligned with the target instead of having it flip up into the air.

More like something about the specifics of her voice allows her to affect the brain directly. If she's singing her usual repertoire feelings of joy, hope and love are created. If she's screaming at you to just die.... Brain hemorrhage.

IIRC in the last book of the Sentinels Minmay used the Voice (capitalized in the novel) to like fry the brain of some dude who'd fallen into a protoculture vat and turned into a half human half Invid tentacle beast.

There already was a CS civil war, but only one side wanted to fight it so Prosek declared it a mistake and moved on - see WB22 and the Coalition Wars series for details.
But, Prosek is unlikely to forgive or forget and is waiting for a chance to finish the secessionists off.
