Ripley from Adventures in the North

Unread post by Narsis »

Is Ripley the highest level character in all of Palladium? It says his Experience level is 150. Was just wondering if there is anyone that is higher?

If you accept what the book says, then yes, he has the highest level. I'm pretty sure even if you add up the levels to the OCCs of whatever god you chose it wouldn't add up as high. I wouldn't put him at that high of a level though, just ignore the 0. That would be more plausible, but probably still too high when most NPCs with life spans just as long never reach that high (gods & dragons excluded of course).

you're forgetting all the other successful uses of skills...

like throwing a punch (use of HtH skill)

shooting an arrow (archery)

walking all day (running)

carrying on a conversation (language)

reading...

the average person can rack up like... what... 1,000 exp a day if they're a social person...
I believe Socrates said it best at, "I drank what?"

"JESUS SAVES! The rest of you take full damage."

They call me Hadoken 'cause I'm down-right fierce.

So what was the major difference that probably happen to him as a
character say when he went from level 60 to level 61? I mean besides
1D6 additional hp and increase in range, duration, effect, and damage
of his abilities?

He was probably collapsed under that tree, all non-mental stats meaningless by then. Nothing says he gained those insane numbers of levels while still active - he was only going for around 400-450 years - but rather I think they're supposed to represent his transcendent mental state, developed from a millenium or more of constant psionic awareness.

The book makes it sound like his mind couldn't wander from his body, so all those years he was just floating where his body lies.

Aye, definitely. It doesn't say he's a 150th level adventurer either, just that his psionics are at 150. The mind, by itself, can hone itself without needing to wander. It's a zen thing, meditation, all that.
