Hive War, the book that could have been

I like the idea, you can take the whole "Hive War" idea and place it in just about any Invid invasion campaign, just to spice things up. Who knows your own PC's may be the ones responsible for damaging the brain in the first place.
Imagine the characters in Lancers Rockers passing through an area with several Hives duking it out. This would be really bad if you make "the rockers" nearly defenseless NPCs with the PCs being their escort/bodyguards.
Or after the 1st or 2nd adventure in Return of the Masters have the local hives start battling it out. This gives a very plausible explanation why the Masters are able to break orbit with the refurbished Zent Battle cruiser (without the Invid taking them out) and meet up with Robotech factory.
