Putting a new group of PCs together.

Unread post by Sentinel »

I'll shorten the story:
A group of super-heroes were briefly rifted to Rifts' Earth. They traveled around, saw things, got involved, and became regionally famous, before going home.
They influenced 6 characters from the burbs to become super-heroes as best they can within their current OCCs.
If you were the GM of such a story, what 6 characters (no more than two of the same OCC) would you pick?

The heroes who were influential :
(names aren't important)
1) patriotic super-soldier (emphasis on soldier: Navy SEaL)
2)crazyman mutant who thinks he's a god (mega-hero w/ god-syndrome)
3)electrical genius/transferred consciousness into combat robot.
4) Immortal warrior woman (w/ N&SS martial art and antique katana)
5)experiment super-speedster
6)female mega-psychic (yes, she had red hair).

Thanks all. 8-)
when you get right down to it, Sentinel's right.~Uncle Servo.

Sentinel. you'll be always loved by the German Princess.~Nelly

That's twice in one day Sentinel has cleaned up my mess.~The Galactus Kid.

That's the best place to start. Otherwise, listen to Sentinel~lather

I'm trying to figure out what you're wanting here, Sentinel. Are we to pick six from your list of six, or come up with our own list?

He want us to do this:

They influenced 6 characters from the burbs to become super-heroes as best they can within their current OCCs.
If you were the GM of such a story, what 6 characters (no more than two of the same OCC) would you pick?

I need to know the name of the group though(so the guys can name themselves after them.)

1) patriotic super-soldier (emphasis on soldier: Navy SEaL)

So let's try a headhunter.

2)crazyman mutant who thinks he's a god (mega-hero w/ god-syndrome)

At first I thought a mutant vagabond would do here, then I realised I was looking for a crazy.

3)electrical genius/transferred consciousness into combat robot.

So an operator seems right to me.(with perhaps mutant powers instead of 'sychic powers, like APS electricity/mechanolink or something like that...)

4) Immortal warrior woman (w/ N&SS martial art and antique katana)

I'm thinking a borg? of some sort.

5)experiment super-speedster

I was thinking a juicer.

6)female mega-psychic (yes, she had red hair).

So, I think I'll choose a mind melter.
_________________________________

After the Champions(or whatever their name was) left Rifts the NEW Champions(or whatever their name was) rose up to take their place:
1)A headhunter.
2)A Crazy (who thinks he's a god).
3)A mutant Operator(with APS:Electricity and Mechanolink instead of 'sychic powers)
4)A female borg of some sort with a Vibro-katana.
5)A juicer
6)And a female mindmelter(with red hair?)
Damn ICE/BCP/BorderPatrol! Damn everyone who won’t damn ICE/BCP/Border Patrol!! Damn everyone that won’t put lights in his windows and sit up all night damning CE/BCP/BorderPatrol!!!

Sorry for the ambiguity.
The group of time traveling heroes was called The Legacy. They were the heroes I described.
What I wanted was a mix of characters most likely to be inspired, possibly even imitate them, out of OCCs and D-Bee RCCs available from the Chi-Town Burbs. Not necessarily a literal translation. Obviously, some OCCs will be more taken with the Legacy than others.
A sort of "what if", where a patriotic super soldier Navy Seal met and inspired a Mega-Juicer, for example.
Spirit, I like yours so far.
BTW, a Mega-Psychic is a HUII Mega-Hero from the Psychic catagory.

The crazyman hero who thinks he's a god might actually be a god: no one believes him.

Spirit, if you don't have any objection, I'd like to roll up characters based on your selections, submit them to my group, credit you, and then play the s*** out of them for so long as they last.
The Rifts characters will all be Scrupulous, Unprincipled and one may be Principled.
I'm going to randonly determine the levels of each, between 1st and 3rd levels.
The adventure will take place the day after the Legacy has left.

My only advice is the team is light on magic. You might want to substitute a mage somewhere. Maybe make the immortal warrior woman an Undead Slayer (the sword tattoo would work for the katana)?
Some gave all.

I like the undead slayer. For a second I toyed with the Staphra (sp.?) from Splynn, but then I like the slayer a little bit more.

Although I was thinking about making the Juicer the principled one...

just read this message. probably not exactly what you looking for, but here goes.

4) Immortal warrior woman (w/ N&SS martial art and antique katana)

my initial thought on this was an escaped altara warrior woman with a few stolen "items" & enhancements from Atlantis before escaped.(magical/psionic sword or even advanced "nano" tech sword, like cyberai from PW book) meeting your team inspired her to a new direction & to live life again, rather than staying hidden from the Splugorth.

1) patriotic super-soldier (emphasis on soldier: Navy SEaL)

A Lonestar gen engineered CS special Forces returning to the burbs after the SOT, with a new outlook on CS & Life, encountering your team
just confirmed these "revelations" of CS & his place in the scheme of things

2)crazyman mutant who thinks he's a god (mega-hero w/ god-syndrome)

an escaped juiced up dogboy, recaptured by the CS, driven insane by the
torture (Re-assimilation training!) at the hands of the CS, permenanatly stuck in the Megalomania or Arrogant warrior persona ( multiple personality insanity)

for some reason the more i read the above, the more i am thinking Wolverine type. that is why i have made him a dogboy

5)experiment super-speedster
Biofreak from Skrapers rpg (i think that is occ), came from the old chicago rifts into burbs or a Murtant weasel gunslinger, or a star child from England book, keep on wanting this to be a d-bee of some sort from the Chicago Rifts. any of the hyper d-bees, quick flex gunslinger or Quickflex CK from SOt book

6)female mega-psychic (yes, she had red hair).

lost one rcc from Merc book

3)electrical genius/transferred consciousness into combat robot.
the other is a rogue Shimmerian robot
