Silver Eagle better than Chromium Guardsman?

I recently got a copy of Chaos Earth, and noticed that the experience table for the Silver Eagle pilot O.C.C. is actually slightly higher than for the Chromium Guardsman O.C.C. (2150 exp vs 2100 at second level, etc.). The pay rates for the Silver Eagle pilot are also higher than those of the Chromium Guardsman (3800 credits/month vs 3200 credits/month). This would imply that a Silver Eagle is actually considered more effective overall than a Chromium Guardsman, which is surprizing considering the armor and damage capabilities of the Guardsman. Since the Silver Eagle can fly circles around the Guardsman and engage or disengage at will, the Silver Eagle pilot does have a lot of flexibility, although it would take at least two Silver Eagles to match one Guardsman in terms of damage and M.D.C. ratings. Has anyone else found this to be an accurate comparison? I personally would have expected the experience table for the Silver Eagle to be slighly lower, or possibly the same as the Guardsman, but not higher considering that the Glitter Boy is typically considered the most effective combat power armor availble.

That's a good point about their pay, since it is concieveable that a Silver Eagle pilot could be facing somewhat more hazardous tasks as an airborne combat unit than a Chromium Guardsman would on the ground. Pay doesn't really matter much in Chaos Earth anyways, so it doesn't really affect the game much, but KS must have had some reason for the differences, and airborne hazard pay sounds like a good an explanation. The experience tables aren't much different for the Silver Eagle O.C.C. and the Chromium Guardsman O.C.C., so the slight increase shouldn't cause much of a problem, although it is rather intersting that the Silver Eagle pilot is considered even more "elite" than a Glitter Boy pilot according the the experience tables.

think about the extra Training need to pilot the Flying armor vs a Walking Armor.

The Silver Eagle is a flyer...
Silver Eagle is at much more risk *less armor*
Has to worry about hitting things at high speeds

a Friend of mine is training for Helicopter in the army now, his pay alot doubled due to that *was a ground vehicle mechanic*. He said once he is done there he plans on going for Fighter Pilot if he qualifies, which would be more pay...
