Detect Ambush, Detect Concealment, Trap/Mine Detection for starters. Tracking, Intelligence and even Land Navigation are others.
I don't have the books but as I understand it Nightbane has Perception rules of some kind that are easily adapted, or so I've heard.

With this, all but the most natrually adept will probably fail, but you're going from pure unrefined ability rather than a skill (which would naturally be hire, as it trains your abilities).
Need to lift that debris off or your comrade with a P.S. of 15? You have a 30% chance. Not that great, but what do you expect with a score of only 15? Works well so far with my games.
crimeny... 15 is well above average...
gotta remember here that 9-11 is the human average...
you could always add an "Awareness" attribute to the game, give it like a 2d6 or 4d4 standard, and go for a d20 roll under said stat...
