Online and Searchable Index/Database

Some times it can be very difficult to find what you are looking for in the thousands of pages of Megaverse material.
A searchable, categorized list with book and page numbers would be extremely useful. An android app to go with it would be even more useful.

Does any thing exist? Would people be willing to scour books and contribute if something was put together?

This is what I am working on.

[hoping this is not a spam bot]

I know a variety of people have worked on similar daunting projects. Heck, I have tried helping some of these people with some of their ideas -from stand alone character builders, to web based character builders to a "online megaversal index". the major stumpbing block each of these come to is the massive amounts of data entry. There are other reasons including but not limited to license issues from Palladium, coder loses interests, tasks becomes overwhelming, real life, alien kidnapping, etc...

If it was something that was turned into an app, I would hope it was turned into an Android app first and maybe an Apple/iTune app second. Though if it was a web-based index, I dont think it would matter - especially if it relied on HTML5 - a standard across both android, iOS and Windows.

Well I am going to put something together, when It is ready for people to help I'll post back here. I really just want to be able to get a quick list of a category, or search for the book and page number of a specific item.

Like, print a list of all Physical Psionics with book and Page number, or find out where I can get information on the Red Hawk Power Armor.

It will be a php backend hooked into an sql database with a little html 5 javascript front end. I already set up a little bit, but I am leaving town in about 7 hours and will only have access on my phone until Monday.
I could make an android app to access the PHP backend if I did, and if it was well received then I might maybe think about sullying myself with iOS and objective C.
Maybe anyone that might be willing to put a few bits of data in could sub this thread and wait for me to post in a week or two with an update.

Well this still needs a LOT of work, make it pretty, make it secure, add more data, but here is the beginning.
RIFTS Index and Database
http://rifts.abits.biz/

Nearly every spell has been added with Book and Page numbers.
Select Categories, or just search the name and descriptions.

Not much time to work on it, but I added a pile of power armor.
If anyone wants to you can add items easily by filling in the boxes on top. Fields can be updated like a spreadsheet if you click the "Allow Editing" check box.

Also, if you have a spreadsheet of anything rifts related send it to me. I can reformat it and import it into the database.

I think that when I next get some time I will try to make it a little prettier.

Added a bunch of Skill and OCCs. I also added a table on the front page with a total count of each category.

@zyanitevp
I could add a category for all the Fantasy data, but I don't have any of the books. If someone wants to provide a spreadsheet, or offer to fill in the data I can get it ready to go in.

Only thing I can think of at the moment was 1010101's website; Palladiums Books Reference, but that was mainly a catalogue of all the PB books by cover and isbn. He hasn't posted on here in some 5 years and his site is down.

I must have missed your question. So if 7 months later isn't too long to wait...
What do you mean by Downloadable form? A PDF of the current list?

If anyone needs help with this please email me at nefty1@gmail.com
I can help make this DB more customizable etc..
Even if you don't want me to mess with original let me get an SQL dump and I'll try and do awesome things with it.
:)
