The Armored Logan (from artist Jose Ortiz)
Okay,
some of you probably have already seen this pic over on my Facebook Robotech: The Masters War page, but I figured I would share it here anyway. Jose Ortiz, in my opinion, outdid himself with this design. Its a simple and elegant addition to the Logan for use in Space and could be a retro-canon explanation for why Jason Waltrip had a Logan firing a bunch of micro-missiles in The Sentinels Book 1 #09 comic. Presumably the model that Jose Ortiz beautifully rendered is lacks most of the missile pods since they would need to be a bit bulkier (and I think the Arm Shields could be up-armored ala the VF-11 Armored Thunderbolt's anti-ballistic shield). I also think you could add missile pods to the thighs and the rear vertical stablizers (since this is a space-only model anyway).
The Armored Logan primarily served with the TASC forces at Space Station Liberty during the 2nd Robotech War and with the REF in deep space. Nicknamed the "Armadillo", it provides heavy protection to the cockpit area.
Armored Logan
So, a little back of the envelope scribbling:
Adds armor plates to the Forearms, Lower Legs and Main Body/Fuselage & Canopy area. Presumably it has the same anti-energy weapon ceramic-coating that the Logan and Spartas do for their arm shields, improving survivability (since two Logans are shown to be lost when hit in the area near the cockpit).
Armament Loadout
4 x 250mm Diamondback First Strike Micro-Missiles (2 per vertical stablizer)
8 x 190mm Hammerhead Micro-Missiles on each forearm (mounted to the sides and 1 x ready-fire "forward" each side, 1 reload)
12 x 190mm Hammerhead Micro-Missiles in rear-mounted pop-up bin (6 x ready-fire, 1 set of reloads)
4 x 190mm Hammerhead Micro-Missiles (2 per upper leg)
12 x 78mm Mongoose Point-Blank Missiles (6 per lower leg pod)

Why not just go with the Super Logan from RoTMs
I know it is a little extreme to advocate the death penalty for stupidity...but can't we just remove all the warning labels and let nature take it's course???
Re: The Armored Logan (from artist Jose Ortiz)
I'm gonna name that Armored Logan...Kermit. The yellow one will be Fozzie.
They can't see me...Right!?

Uh, does it not compute that the "Super Logan" is an entirely different model of mecha whereas the "Armadillo" is an add-on kit to up-arm the Logan?

My first glance at that picture, the forward sensor array looked like a red-lipped MOUTH("My got! Space-Nazi space-shark mecha!!!!")

Yes...but the Super Logan has full functionality.

And the Super Logan in 1E RPG parlance essentially amounts to being the VF-1V model of the VF-1, where RSCF's Armored Logan is more of the VF-1's Armored Battloid in the family, which probably means there is a VF-1 Super (FAST Pack in Macross parlance) out there (I know I've seen fan concepts on it).

I like the concept of the Armored Logan. A great way to support your ground troops. Great job Rabid.

So. What. This is an add-on kit to an already built mecha, whereas the Super Logan is a whole new mecha.

I did nothing but make a guess based on Jose Ortiz's artwork. He's the one that deserves the praise.

250mm isn't exactly a, "Micro-Missile". That's the fire-power of a naval-battleship.
