2. The spell "Energy Field" (4th level - Rifts RPG pg. 172) states that it provides 60 MDC of protection. Can a Mage encased in the Energy Field spell fire MD weapons through the shield at opponents while their return fire must break down the shield?
Answer: That is correct; the mage cannot fire through the Energy Field without himself damaging it.

ok i read this in the question an answer page. i have a small proble with this. one not taking into acount that is a magic shield so why can someone fire from the inside. the sec is there are so many thinds that are like this that from this anwer make it you unly use if your almost dead. there the tec sheald an the shield on the space ships. so then when all these are in use you can fire out an just sit there. thats like saying your cant fire that gun cause your using armor your finger cant fit in the hole. that spell is one of the main defec spells for a mage. am i looking at this the wroung way. or do theres feel the same way. or did they change the answer. thanks

anyways, energy field is not like a suit of armour, it is a wall.

How can phase world ships fire with force fields?
Perhaps the field acts as a one way filter.
There are a few examples of it being used as force field in tw suits, and vehicles.

It can be a wall or personal force field.
