About three years ago I was thumbing through one of the books and found a device you could purchase for your borg that was a Skills library of sorts. You could download the database for certain types of skills such as Lore: XYZ, and it would be like a book the cyborg could call up instantly for reference, but a lower skill rate than if they actually had the skill.
I though it was interesting at the time, but now I'm trying to find it again, and I don't know the book or page anymore.
Does anyone know what book and page number this is?

Insta skills for the Cyborg?

Re: Insta skills for the Cyborg?
The closest thing that comes to my mind is the Brain Programming chip from Mindwerks, p. 19. But that has it's own list of problems, the first being availability.
Re: Insta skills for the Cyborg?
They had such a chip in Mutants In Orbit if memory serves.
Fair warning: I consider being called a munchkin a highly offensive slur and do report people when they err in doing so.
'Reality is very disappointing.' - Jonathan Switcher from Mannequin
It's 'canon', not 'cannon'. A cannon is a big gun like on pirate ships, canon is what you mean when referring to something as being contained within one of the books such as how many dice to roll for a stat.

Triax, Book 1. Don't know the exact page, but it's in the New Bionics section.
And yes, it's more like an internal database than anything else. At best it has step-by-step tutorials for the cyborg that has to do something(preferably not brain surgery, nuclear engineering, or bomb disposal).

Re: Insta skills for the Cyborg?
Good deal. Thanks for the help guys. I googled that too and I guess I actually asked about this back awhile too, and then forgot to check the replies.
Heres the link.

I guess there are several ways to do this, and they all work differently
* The Mutants in Orbit book pg 91 (only one skill)
* Data Chip (brain) - Rifts® Japan, p. 112. (dangerous & illegal)
* Brain programming - Mindwerks pg 19 (makes you crazy)
* Or this....(which is what I was thinking of)
Computer & Calculator built into the Arm: Bionics Sourcebook pg87
(with HUD display piped to the eyes) combined with this....
Rifts Game Masters Guide page 186 Computer Reference Libraries
* Plus Triax pg 170
"three basic skill programs can be programmed into the robot's supplemental computer and accessed by the human brain. " (limited to 38%, takes 1d4 times as long)
Honorable Mentions:
Gromeko Friend or Foe Identification Computer: Bionics Soursebook and Rifts Russia
Advanced Bionic Headjack (new):Bionics Sourcebook pg 85
