What has been the longest delay for a rifts book Release?

Unread post by Froward Firimar »

I think it started with a Summer of 2012 release date for the Megaverse In Flames.
I was so excited for the release of this book, but after years of waiting, my purchase will be when I get around to it--not as soon as it is finally released.
I know delays happen but wow!

Not the same thing really, the original Lemuria was cancelled years and years and years ago. The Lemuria that was released was a completely different book with a completely different author.

IIRC, Mechanoid Space was originally planned for a future release back in '92.

I would say that's a good reason for the delay. But its still a delay. Of course I would say that once you put, in writing, that a book is coming out and give a release date, that you have promised said book. Canceling it just gives you a delay of "indefinite/infinite" since the book is, by definition, not being released on time.

This. I was still in HIGH SCHOOL when this was announced. Im about to RETIRE.

Edit: I get it if a title is axed for one reason or another...but the project is STILL listed in the online book store...assuming its going to be made eventually.

What ever happened to plans for the Urban Jungle book being hyped at the first open house? And the Deep South / Voodoo rifts books on the radar many years ago?

Lemuria being cancelled and revamps... I'm not sure if that qualifies as excepting it from the waiting period.

Far as I'm concerned, if a book is promised, the counter is still ticking, regardless of Palladium announcing 'well, we decided not to do it'.

Although we can monitor the distinct sub-group of things promised where the promise hasn't been explicitly rescinded.

A "list of broken promises" official list that acknowledges these obscure references would be pretty cool.

Not sure. I'd like to throw my name in the hat for Deep South, but from what I understand there was already a manuscript being worked on back in 2008 or so, so I never continued to pursue. Now it seem the project is all but forgotten at Palladium.

Rifts: Africa 2, rifts China 3, rifts world book :Lazlo (some placed in rifters books), rifts adventure sourcebook :the lyboc saga, rifts scotland and rifts Australia 2 and 3 are examples of books not appearing

I sometimes like going through the rifters books and seeing some of the books not available
granted I still want to see rifts :Antarctica....

but I will buy the books til I am dead. and fact my daughter wants to learn is a reason to keep supporting

UWW is fairly high on the list. I wonder who was originally supposed to write it.

I think Braden Campbell or Carl Gelba would be prime candidates.

Rifts Chi-town is listed in some older books as coming soon. I kinda wonder if the break down into the various chi town adventure books like burbs and black vault and what not took the place of it.
