Tell me about your campaigns.

Unread post by Cyber-Knight »

Unfortunately, I live in the barren gameless wasteland which is Miami, FL, and as such am pretty much out of luck if I ever want to find another Rifts game again. So I figure if I can't find a game then I could at least live vicariously through all of you. So tell me about your campaigns. Who're the characters involved, what're their races and OCC's, and what notable adventures have they had? I'm curious to know what's going on in other peoples Rifts campaigns.

My campaign is just one endless adventure, new characters join up, old ones retire, but the adventure continues

right now, my crew are hunting vampires near Muluc.

The party consists of:
a 15-year-old Atlantean vampire Hunter (my nearly 8-year-old daughter is playing that)
a mexican gunfighter
a gunslinger
an Atlantean techno-wizard
a shilouette cyber doc
a titan cyber knight
and Erin Tarn & Windslow Thorpe, who are travelling in disguise with them

Bastard Squad: Memebers of the mercenary company Tactical Hazzardous Engagements, aka T.H.E. company. They are the newest squad and rising stars, they were told each Squad was to be named after a type of sword, without a seconds hesitation 'Bastard' was choosen. They are primarily augmented humans, they've done some good stuff locally in Kingston. They were successful in the Hope City & Benford conflict. They are currently stuck in a quagmire with a rural kingdom [I let another GM run the group, it isn't working out]. If/When we resume i'll try to wrap up that story and run a story i've been planning for a while. . . A Triax scientist has made a major breakthrough in the field of Nueral Intellegence, he wants to defect to Titan Robotics. The group is to be his escort.

My family all plays . Myself the GM, the wife is the mother of twin girls (in game and out).

The set up is basically the mother is a techno wizard and the twins are glitter boy pilots with the mother who made each suit some techno wizard. Mods on each.. Invisibility (both versions) and teleport superior on each (5x per day). and energy sphere (activatable) invincible armor

The setting is the actual war for Tolkeen they have been hired by the coalition to help take down Tolkeen and they do just that when they are with a bunch of the coalition units the mother puts on some power armor to hide her PPE from the dog boys when in close proximity of them and they are basically shredding the coalition units they get assigned to go into the field with once out of range of the major forces.

They have done this roughly 4x now and have been (just last nite) assigned to a larger artillery force now (will be harder for them to take it down as well now).

The last couple of moves from last nites run went as such..

The wife took off her Armor after the entire unit (both the players and the CS units) reached there location and started to make camp and set up for the ambush they we're assigned for..

The wife then went to the girls and started to discuss their strat for taking out this much larger military unit. Then it of no where a pack of dog boys came from the tree line, and started to sense the wifes character, so she quickly started to put her armor on and the twins got nervous so they also got into their glitter boys the dog boys tracked them and thats when the twins turned it on ..

Together they activated their invincible armor which brought the dog boys to them and they just utterly destroyed them in a couple volleys ..

The coalition forces were not ready .. They were slaughtered ..

2 spider walkers, 2 hell raisers, 4 of those walkers with massive missile pay, lads (forget their names)

Most of the CS force were setting up camp and some units only had 1 person in them only 2 of the missile walkers with the missiles in them had their pilots and everything ready to go, the two glitter boy units made short work of the other CS units and took out the other two units as well but they almost lost their mother in a proximity blast that tore off their mothers arm from her power armor..

The game ended last night with the twins teleporting their way (with the mother) back to Tolkeen to seek medical attention for their mother.

Our group restarted with a Ngr City-technologist, a Paratrooper, a Mystic Knight and a Lanotaur Hunter we still use our last group's Carnival as a traveling town and 3 old characters show up as backup. Half of the old group died in the minions war. One character became our main Shifter Nemesis after her Demon Spider minion corrupted her dreams and got her god Odin to cut ties with the Shifter. Venomma got her to link to Hecate and that turned her practicing mage sacrifices to gain spells & ppe.
As her demon army grow she started to see the spider plotting against her and she started turning away from the evil ways. By this time we tracked her down and thought we killed her but she had escape plan. We hired on to help Lazlo curb the Xit-bugs and then helped the Order of the White Rose deal with the Dark Templars a powerful group of Mystic Knights & corrupted fallen cyber-knights who main goals are to control all the ley lines in the north eastern states and have their dark gods (Night Lords) link and turn a large number villagers into witches. We slowed their plans by getting Shemarrian Nation to push them partly back out of the East and the White Rose slain a few key witches. Its been slow going as my play group work schedule don't line up well these days lol
I will be 125 living in Rio de Janeiro when the Great Cataclysm comes, I will not survive long but I will be cloned threw the Achilles project and my clones will be Achilles Neo-Humans that will start a new Jedi order in Psyscape. So You May Strike Me Down & I Will Become More Powerful Than You Can Possibly Imagine. Let the Clone Wars begin!

My wife plays a Grackle Tooth head/bounty hunter that owns a tea house/weapon/mechanic shop, my NPC is a Grackle Tooth Gunfighter and we are a mated pair.

Our daughter (who just turned 12 this July) is playing a Rogue Scientist (with a double doctorate because only is she a scientist but she is a full MD). She focuses on chemistry and bio engineering, she experimented on a cat and it now changes colour depending on it's mood and spikes emerge from it's body as a defense mechanism. She achieved this through a little gene manipulation and I am going to surprise her by one day having the cat speak to her with a human intelligence level.

She is also a student of archaeology and has been hired by Plato (and the council) to seek out a book of magic. They are currently stomping around the Lazlo area and have had a run in with a member of the black market (The Immaterial Hand) and now have a human wizard of their own for some "magic muscle".

They have visited a witch (to have some clues deciphered) and met with an astronomer at the University of Lazlo to help them identify star charts.

The had a battle with multiple entities while inside Casa Loma and that is where they ran into the Shifter and his familiar from the Immaterial Hand and the zipped off with the next clues for finding the book.

We are a group of folk for hire by a new city called Redemption on the west coast. Our job as it stands currently is to scout the new west for ley-lines as we build a ley-line train route across America. One of our first tasks to to find a location for a new town on the ley-line route which we named Midway which lies between Redemption and Henderson. The whole project appears to be funded by Bandito arms as were finding out.

Party consists of:

Grackletooth Operator in custom Bandito Arms SAMAS - Me
Chiang-Ku Ley-Line Walker that no one knows is a dragon
Lawful Stupid True Atlantean Undead Slayer
Cowardly Combat Cyborg
NGR Glitterboy Pilot with Glitterboy

I cannot wait untill my son is old enough to game. He is only 4 right now, but I have been sewing the seeds. He, of course, loves superheroes and he saw me using my dice and he really wanted to play with them so I had him roll for some random powers from HU. Going with a 2 major 3 minor template he ended up rolling- Invincibility, APS:Plasma, Ext Speed, Superhuman PS, and that one that increases your power based on the phases of the moon. we didn't bother rolling stats yet, because he probably wouldn't have had the patience for that.

He got pretty excited after I explained to him the stuff his guy could do, relating it to supers he already knows about.

The game I'm running just finished a major leg of the adventure. They were in france and fought alongside 2 NGR brigades that laid siege to the Blood Druid city, where a world tree had sprung up. A demon lord came in early for the apocalypse and helped the druids corrupt the tree and a high profile tolkeen mage helped them. They ended up saving the tree, killing the demon lord and the druids, even overcoming a Triangular Defense spell in the process. Now they're heroes, so to speak, at least in Europe, and they plan to go back to north America.

The party is:
Wolfen Cyberknight
Human (minor psychic) Gunsligner
Human (minor psychic) Paratrooper
Human Techno-wizard
Human Glitterboy Pilot

They're gaining a True Atlantea Mystic soon, but losing the cyberknight. not much racial diversity, but the guys like showing what humans can do.

So far I've only played in one Rifts game that we never got to finish due to the demands of real life.

My PC was Midnight Storm, a homebrewed anthropomorphic Unicorn RCC from an Astral Dimension. Natural Unicorn powers included teleportation(via some kind of astral plane wormhole effect), and just about every TK power there was. For his specific power set he was a Zapper. He was also two-tone blue with blue and purple mane/tail markings and a prominent tattoo on each flank (I know what you're thinking..and yeah that's pretty much right)

The story went that he was a childhood companion of a princess and grew to be her personal royal guardian. As the two grew up together a relationship formed. Like with most young lovers passion got in the way of caution and they were "caught" together. The king considered this the ultimate form of betrayal and treason and was going to have him executed. The only thing that stayed the sentence was the princess's plea that she loved him and her admission that she was pregnant. Instead Midnight Storm was banished to Rifts Earth, where he would either regain his honor by proving his selflessness or he would remain exiled there never to see the princess or his unborn foal again.

On Rifts Earth MS found his way to Psyscape where he was recruited for the city's Special Security Detail. The SSD sent him as a representative (really an enforcer of the city administrator's interests) on a mission to SoulHarvest, which lead to a mission to the Chi-town Black Vault (during which an elaborate plan was formed to teleport in and loot the whole thing [with GM approval]). Before the Black Vault heist could be pulled off a side trip was made to...I don't remember.. to find out about the magic artifact we initially went to the black vault to steal. That's where the game fizzled out. The last thing I remember MS and a psi-assassin were hallucinating that a teammate was being attacked with a gas gun by a duck man wearing a large, purple hat, mask, and cape and mauled by the Eastoroth Bunny (the evil clucking hare of cadburry)

I have a new Rifts game coming where I will be playing another rifted in character. Big Brown Hound comes from a Hu/BTS/NSS crossover game that never got to start. He is an canine alien who came to Earth to fight monsters and solve crime. Think Ghostbuster/Monster Hunter meets Sam Spade. Hopefully this game will go better than the last(which I will admit went pretty well while it lasted)
Look upon me and tremble ye masses. For I am The Necroposter!

Currently running a vampire hunting campaign where the group has recently discovered the ruins of an old New Mexico Pre Rifts Walmart is the lair of a local Master Vampire that rules the area. They recently killed off the local Brodkil sheriff and his minions and managed to protect a small town formally controlled by the master Vampire and now are planning to delve into the ruins of the walmart to go after the master vampire.

Currently the group includes
Human Reids Ranger
Feral Dog Boy (Standard skill set)
Atlantian Shifter
Human Operator
Malvoren (Standard Skill set)
Grackle Tooth Merc Solder
Bone Jaguars Vampire Hunter
I've got an advanced pre-rifts energy rifle, A soul drinking rune blade, living bio armor, and a hover truck full of nukes. So why do I feel under equipped for this??? (Sir Joe the Gardner 7th level Ogre Keeper of the garden on his first encounters with the Mechanoids)

The chronicles (and sometimes mindless banter... okay, it's more like frequent mindless banter) of our over 2 year Rifts campaign, played over Skype is here: http://palladium-megaverse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=130500

We have a now a True Atlantean Undead Slayer, a Cyberoid from Japan, a Demi-God Temporal Warrior, a Cyber-Knight, a Troll Earth Warlock, and a M'Raghiile Tree Man Mind Melter.

Have to agree with my GM, cyberdon here- Skype is the way to go if you need your RP fix.
