Yeah I do think there would be units that would stick together, or new formed units out of survivors.

Not many, but a few smaller ones at least.

I am really hoping a future DR suplement has more info about surviving military and paramilitary groups (even if just ideas) as well as info on things like police stations, guard armories, military bases (army/navy/marine/air force/cost guard), etc.

I love the pics, but I think they are also all clear examples of why the military is not as available as they might have been - too often the soldiers are going to be standing ground somewhere and they will be overrun. This means those you encounter will be the cowards who ran or the lucky few to escape before the failsafe (whatever that was for those soldiers) stopped their initial horde. Expect more of the former to have survived than the latter.
