Religion after the Zombie Apocalypse

I would expect a lot of new cults would pop-up. All you need is one slightly deranged person with power and before you know it he is the new messiah. They will collect followers and control every part of their lives. All outsiders will not be trusted unless they join the cult. Anyone who causes trouble for the leader or the cult will be dealt with even to the point of murder. That would include members who question the leader.

As for the major religions some will go two ways. There will be ones who will cling even harder to their faith, seeing the Zombies as a test of faith. Then there will be the ones who loose their faith entirely. The first group could easily become dangerous as they adopt the most extreme views of their faith and will have no problems forcing it on others. Any questioning of their faith will be seen as blasphemy and most be punished.
