PPE for heroes?

Unread post by ghost2020 »

I thought I read in the 2nd Powers Unlimited that heroes get 6D6 P.P.E., is this correct?

Does this contradict the main book, I thought it was always 2D6 P.P.E. for non-spellcasters.

Or is it a new rule?
Just want to make sure we're giving our wizard all the PPE he can handle.

thanks

Thank God it doesn't take 7 years of school to be a rules lawyer :bandit:

Sorry dude but any less only makes you a rules paralegal. :)

Yup, I thought so too, (2d6 for adults). I suppose it is in some other games.

That'll learn me for not checking my books before I post (I was at work).

The Magic weapon of HU are called Rune Weapons everywhere else, and you can only bone with one rune weapon at a time. So you wouldn't be bonding with a 2nd weapon and wouldn't get any ppe from your 'back-up' weapon.

Ah well...my memory comes and goes at times.

That's the standard for humans in other Palladium games, and may also be the base for normal people in HU, but all superbeings have more, even bionic heroes.

P.P.E 101
The Theory of Potential Psychic Energy.
Children have more P.P.E than adults because it represents the mental (dare we say spiritual?) potential of the individual. Similar to Chi, P.P.E can be said to be a limited resource that is used up as an individual grows and learns, and when said individual has reached adulthood, they have set their path in life, dedicating their mental potential to a set and defined arena of talents and skills.. creativity properly channelled, as it were.
Super Heroes are those individuals with an extraordinary personal potential, and while it is stated that Super Heroes have a much greater P.P.E score than normal even in adulthood, it is not mentioned anywhere what the P.P.E level of a child is, when that child will oneday become a Super Hero.. this raises some interesting questions for us all to ponder..

Is the P.P.E of a child who will become a mutant super hero any greater then the P.P.E of a child who was fated to be perfectly normal before some form of experiment transformed them into a super being?
Is the P.P.E of a mutant child any higher than a normal child's P.P.E at all?
Indeed, can the level of P.P.E in a child hold answers to that childs fate?
