Animate Object: Range of Motion

Unread post by Incriptus »

"Pistols, rifles and other guns can be made to fire on their own"

Does the pistol float up in the air to be aimed and fired?
Does the pistol remain on the table but "stand up" to be aimed and fired?

Does a sword act as if it's wielded by an invisible hand?
Does a sword remain on the ground, occasionally standing up, or perhaps jumping/throwing itself at the target?

My instinct would be to have them float

Range of motion of Animated Objects: Animated objects have a range of motion as implied by their form.

Objects with legs will walk, bending at newly created joints. Speed * 10
Objects with a "snake like" form will slither and stand up on their own. Speed * 3
Round objects will roll and bounce. Speed * 5
Objects with wheels will stay up right on them. Speed * 10
Stationary Objects will rock back and forth and waddle. Speed * 2
Hand held Objects will waddle or hop to their until they reach their destination. Speed * 2
--- However upon reaching their destination they will float in the air and act as if they were in the hands of an invisible user. A hammer will float in order to drive a nail. A sword will engage in combat. A gun will float to aim and shoot.
Small Objects will crawl or shimmy. Speed * 2

Objects are also capable of "throwing themselves". This is usually applicable in the case of small and hand held objects. Throwing range is per their weight and PS of 10. Objects thrown this way will be considered to be no longer animated if they're outside of the powers range.
