So I know in rifts I recycle characters all the time. I take a character that was a pc and make them a npc and change their appearance (sometimes slightly, sometimes drastically) and personality while keeping skills, gear, etc, and introduce them as allies or bad guys or something.
How many of you out there do this? And how has it gone for you?
Recycled heroes, joes, and villians?

Re: Recycled heroes, joes, and villians?
When I need a stock throw away character (Basically a one shot), I use one that I already have, especially since I have created at least one of each type of super hero. If the game calls for a character with a back ground and such, I may update the stock sheet, or create a whole new one. But sometimes you just need a target for the heroes to pound on that is nothing more than the paper/pen it took to create.

Re: Recycled heroes, joes, and villians?
I've used characters from other/old games (in slightly altered form) as background characters in my games. I think it adds to the game to have those little nods, even if sometimes I'm the only one who will get it.
