Licensed Game - What Would You Want?

Unread post by Semi-Retired Gamer »

(Note: I'm NOT asking for ANY conversions.)

PB is no stranger to licensing other properties. If they were going to license a fantasy movie or series of novels to produce a licensed version bases on Palladium Fantasy what would you like to see?

I would like to see The Runelords by David Farland, Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan, or the Prydain Chronicles by Lloyd Alexander.

Hmm

In no particular order
The Last Rune Series - Mark Anthony
Belgariad and Mallorean - Just Because
Night Angel Trilogy - Brent Weeks
Abhorsen Series - Garth Nix (seeing someone doing the bells properly would be cool)
Stormlight Archives - Brandon Sanderson
The Joe Pitt Casebooks - Charlie Huston
Nightside Series - Simon Green

I think Palladium's general style would fit well with Steven Brust's Dragaera novels.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you proposing that someone import a story into the Palladium Fantasy world, or are you citing examples of storytelling styles that would work well in Palladium Fantasy, or something else?

Personally, I'd like to see some good original fiction set in Palladium Fantasy.

My understanding, Hotrod, is that the poster is looking for worlds that would be reasonably well represented by something close to the Palladium ruleset.

But I'm also a fan of building a world through good fiction. Short story anthologies like Tales really helped to develop Dragonlance for me, for example.

Ah, this makes more sense then. As for a licensed product, I can think of a couple that might fit well:
The Blade of the Poisoner and Master of Fiends by Douglass Hill (Fantasy, magic, demons, psionics, and super-powers)
A wizard of Earthsea, by Ursula Le Guin (Magic, dragons, and sailing)

I totally agree. The whole series is excellent. The Empire feels very much like the Western Empire.

I love his Taltos series, but I am currently reading Phoenix Guards which is a great homage to 3 Musketeers but feels like 3 Musketeers in the Western Empire to me. :-)

I want Palladium to get the licensing for Justice Machine back and never let it go. Would love to
work to permanently include the original machine in Heroes Unlimited.
