Hi, all
Just wondering, for those that have it, if the latest Byzantium book includes any new info on the island of Torn - specifically, the rumour that there might be ancient ruin hidden among the mountains there?
Thanks

If that doesn't prompt you to buy it, I don't know what else I can say.

Ah!
I checked the PDF preview and answered my own question. Looks like this is one I'll have to order.

Hmm, off hand I can't remember what my players' test group used but I can
tell you major psychics or better won't like the place, and Psychic Sensitives
get screwed bad (have to walk around with Mind Block on). If they camp the
night away at the abandoned village of Ragnvald you'll awaken to Rock Claws
(1D6) or Sea Ghouls (1D4) in the middle of the night. The island is home to
dark fey (toadstools, pucks, bogies), tomb worms, and entities. The
higher you go in the mountains you're likely to encounter Dragondactyls and
Perytons. I would definitely include a ranger and/or druid, a Priest of the
North (Light), and a diabolist, summoner, or scholar monk (namely for the use
of their skills involving history, anthropology, etc). As for the city, you need to
read the book to learn it's secrets
In addition, just getting to the island is no easy task. Sailing to the island and
anchoring off shore can lead to tragedy. Ten miles east of the island at the
bottom of the ocean is a KRAKEN (he's immortal like faerie folk) and he likes to
come to the surface to snack on sailing vessels once in a great while
(Gggnathu). See Library of Bletherad for further details about Krakens.
And of course, you just never know when or if the Iceborn decide to visit the
site of the great battle to dig up some of their ancestors or some Eoten. There
are tens of thousands of skeletal remains of Iceborn and Eoten buried just
beneath the surface of the unhallowed island (a necromancer will be in hog
heaven).
