Another question about Parchment

Unread post by Veknironth »

Well, I hesitate to bring this up with the periodical ideas of making a parchment suit of armor, but I will anyway. We know that parchment with runes on it can't be destroyed. That would imply being impervious fire. So, does that mean it doesn't conduct heat? Could you use a piece of parchment with a rune on it as a hot pad?

I would say that, just like regular parchment, it conducts heat just fine. It has all the properties of parchment except for "able to be destroyed."

I would rule that other then not being able to be destroyed it is just parchment.

A hot pad made out of parchment that has been silver runed will not burn or singe.

I wonder if it would make good non stick baking paper.

Would it be possible to make a boat out of parchment? Not sure if it would be light enough to float or fold into a shape.

Well, Axel brings up a good point. Getting wet usually degrades the sheer strength of parchment but if it can't be destroyed, does it lose any integrity?

Did not the Mythbusters mack a dinghy out of duct tape? Just make sure you are using water soluble glue.

I would think that depends on how water tight parchment is.

Petty tyrants thrive when they have authority backed by vague regulations.

I would say yes to a boat of parchment, though you would probably need an internal frame.
