LOL...could do some crazy stuff here, however, realistically the location shouldn't have anything to do with the types of demons that show up. So no space demons shouting "Buzz Lightyear!" and no 6ft tall demon rats.

Just ruins, and lots of scared kids hiding in said ruins living off the stuff they can find in the restaurant kitchens, vending machines, etc.

true, but the kids might at least try to get at least SOME of the rides working again!(kids usually want to have fun in the end)& I picture that they would probibly find at least one opening to disney's lower levels as well.

There was a Deadlands: Hell on Earth adventure in a dime novel that dealt with a Disney based amusement park. Being Deadlands, it had a horror side to it but the best part was the manical undead owner's head that was attached to a spider ride that attacks the party at the end.

If I remember Dinosaur Swamp correctly, Disney World is covered in plant life similar to the Mayan pyramids. There was talk in that book about some kind of new laser entertainment system put in before the rifts.

There has been talk over the years of Disney opening a MidWest park and the population explosion in the next 100 years will certainly lead to such a park (or parks) being very viable. When the USA has 500M population by 2070, you can certainly bet that Disneyland Omaha will be a profitable enterprise.

That will be just in time to become located on top of a spot which might become a nexus point after the coming of the Rifts occurs.

Something definitely macabre about a theme park running in the middle of global catastrophe...

And the worst of those ghost will be the little duck and mouse. Of course maybe they are worshipped by people who survived. What if they had their own clerics? And places of worship.

Don't mess with their clerics or you could get cursed with "Donald's Incomprehesile Speech" or "Goofy's Accident Prone" curses. May you be blessed with "Mickey's Big Ears" to hear the dangers in the night. :D

Mickey's curse of androgynousness...he always struck me as rather genderless...voice to high pitched for a man, but dressed like one.

It's just too bad they don't make rat traps big enough to catch Mickey! Maybe they'll have operators who specialize in building rat traps! :D

Don't let the writers see this or in the next sourcebook we'll see:

CS Rodent Specialist O.C.C. - the Coalition has found a solution to it's Mutant Rat and other Lone Star problems. Trained at the Lone Star complex, these men and women help defend the safety of humans by hunting down failed experiments and exterminating them.

Rogue Exterminator Operator O.C.C. with a Rodent M.O.S. - these Operators have studying the forbidden past to find ways to duplicate the pest control procedures of the American Empire of the Golden Age of Man. The Rodent M.O.S. concentrates on elimatinating mice, rats, mutant wolverines, etc. They are hunted down by the Coalition as they share their devices with humans and d-bees.

Wouldn't that create something like a torturor OCC? Or maybe we could have clowns run the rides, that way those who dislike clowns can have fun vaporizing them.

I would have it instantly become a pocket dimension straddling the real world like the Yucatan penninsula.

Any entities that enter are transformed via the Only Human spell into children and the rides attractions etc remain as always timeless.

So yes demons Alien intelligences etc avoid the place like the plague.
The joy and happiness alone is repulsive to them. :D

Now that would be a nifty idea. Especially if you could make some sort of truly nasty entity controlling it.

Now that is a truly evil thought. As long as the entity did just feed on the negative emotions, leaving people happier than they were. Maybe it could feed on nightmares.

..Actually, it would make more sense to put it in my neck of the woods; the population center has been moving it's way south west along highway 44 for the past thirty years. Right now Rolla Missouri is quite literally the shortest average distance from all of the farthest populations around the country.

Well if you notice the current Disney locations, they're both in densely populated areas. It needs to be in a densely populated city to have the support it needs, both in local staff and enough close hotels and other services for people to feel like they aren't isolated and having to survive 100% on the price-gouging theme park services (it's been over a decade since I was at a Disney, but IIRC the onsite hotel was 50% more than one a few blocks away, and you could easily pay twice as much for a hamburger inside the theme park). I'm not familiar with Rolla, so I'm guessing Omaha is far bigger. Plus Omaha is central enough for everyone that isn't already closer to Disneyland or Disney World. I also wouldn't be greatly surprised if Kansas City wasn't also closely looked at, but I'd prefer Omaha because it's 3 hours closer for me. ;)

Now if what the topic poster means is, "What happened to the Disney theme parks with the coming of the rifts?"

World & Epcot, under water.
Land, broken by earthquakes or swept away by tsunami's
Tokyo, more tsunami's
Euro, monster stomped.
Hong Kong, tsunami's and underwater
Shanghai, same as Hong Kong
Tokyo DisneySea, same as tokyo.
Hawaii, tsunami's

possible(as in maybe built between not and the rifts)
Africa, same as euro

If any of the Disneys survive, in one form or another, then each place would be separate individual companies

They weren't built in densely populated areas, the areas they were built in became densely populated. Missouri has a pretty large population density, and coupled with the fact that Rolla is just three hours away from the current most popular tourist trap in America (Branson), it would be ideal from the standpoint of a company like Disney; lower cost to build, and central location.

If the built in Rolla, the state would throw tons of money into the Rolla airport to upgrade. Within five years (about the time to build a good sized theme park) the airport would be up to international standards. And then they would be in the ideal location.

Sorry, I'm quite certain that how close they'd be to you isn't going to be in their list of considerations for building a new park.

Of course the whole idea is absurd speculation, so why don't you just imagine a space port going into Omaha..

I would picture something along the lines of the 70s movie Westworld. something goes wrong either because of the Rifts, a mechanical glitch or some other supermatural force. Here is the link to the trailer: http://www.shortify.com//8802 . Imagine being stuck in a theme park like that.

Dunno about East Coast, WDW is a ruin in Dinosaur Swamp. Besides we're like 80 miles from any coast here in central Florida. And Disney world is geographically huge, not just talking the magic kingdom, but all the parks and the two towns that sprouted up around them.

I can see pockets of humanity (former staff members who know the park and staff area layouts), groups of kids and teenagers and other tourists. Also loose non-native animals from Animal Kingdom and such.

...Of course I can ALSO see some huge demon rounding up said survivors for lunch :)

one theme park i could see doing OK would be Silver Dollar City, in Branson Missouri. and some of the similar places in the area. between NEMA, the locals (it's Ozarks Missouri, lotta guns and hunters and such), and the craftsmen that work at the park doing demonstrations and handmade goods (blacksmiths, glass blowers, carpenters, etc) you have the core of a fairly decent survivor community. plus you have a bunch of (often quite expansive) caves to shelter in.

Theme parks should be full of Haunting Entities of humans who were dressed as mascots who then some combination of ectoplasm and telekinesis to gather together the costumes and act like the mascots.

They should be creepy, possibly helpful... of course, some of those costume pieces might also be inhabited by diabolical Siphon Entities or Tectonic Entities, so you should be careful about which Mickey you trust.
