Ran a N&S game with a slightly historical bent one time. Hostage rescue situation, but the hostages were the Gone But Not Forgotten, American Vietnam POW's. Rambo 2 was a great inspiration for that one. Give it a shot. :-D

If your players are new to roleplaying, keep in mind that N&SS is one of the more complex character building games -- even by the standards of other Palladium games. Using some pre-gen characters and letting them choose from a pile of these characters might be less overwhelming.
