Psionics probability among animals?

Unread post by Avigor »

Are there any statistics of what percent of the animal population has psionics, beyond the ability generation rules limiting potential M.E. scores and the animal Bio-E limits and presence or absence of M.E. bonuses or the Extra Mental Endurance power? I couldn't find anything in the Animal Psionics section about this.

Here's something I put together using anydice.com and my PC's calculator for the probabilities of meeting the 8, 12, and 15 M.E. requirements assuming no house rules such as assigning rolled numbers to stats after rolling all 8 numbers or roll 4d6 drop the lowest or whatever, in case anyone is interested; the 8 listed %'s for each category start with no bonus, then go through the listed bonuses in the following order: animal type +1, animal type +2, animal type +3 (admittedly this is only the Fox), animal type +1d4 (admittedly this is only the Chester Swine Purebred), EME +4, both animal type +1 and EME for total +5, both animal type +2 and EME for total +6.
(feel free to check my math, which is all dependent on anydice.com's 2 digit decimal accuracy, adding the numbers that would meet the given requirement; I did go backwards for the first two 1d4's however given that those increased the potential rolls enough that I balked at the prospect of adding them all up so I subtracted the "losers" from 100 instead)

_________________(+0,____ +1,____ +2,_____ +3,___ +1d4,___ +4,___ +5,___ +6 bonuses in case this helps anyone keep track of the bonuses to percents as I couldn't find a table code set here)

Requires M.E. of 8: 83.78%, 90.72%, 95.35%, 98.13%, 95.95, 99.52%, 100%, 100%

Requires M.E. of 12: 37.49%, 49.99%, 62.49%, 74.06%, 67.58%, 83.78%, 90.72%, 95.35%

Requires M.E. of 15: 9.26%, 16.2%, 25.92%, 37.49%, 32.42%, 49.99%, 62.49%, 74.06%

EDIT: I ignored the big & dumb options, as well as the Allosauroid and Okefenokee Hog penalties.
