Good rules for sword-wielding magic users

Unread post by RainbowDevil »

Does anyone have any recommendations for any OCCs that specialise in using sword-type magic, ie a great blademaster that has some magic to do with his weapon style? I have the rules for the Blade Master (or was it Blade Mage?) from one of the Rifters books, but the player isn't too big a fan on those rules. This character will be for After the Bomb, so an OCC that isn't uber-powerful in a non-MDC world would be preferred.

Thanks folks. :)

battle magus is a pretty good combat-focused magic user.

there is a war mage in the rifter that's okay, but the blade mage has some really messed up spells, I wouldn't use it myself.

Greetings and Salutations. I made a Blade Caster O.C.C. about 15 years ago and they had specialized Blade Spells. Back then I tried different mechanics and rules to experiment and see what worked. Today I think it was off target enough that I didn't update the look or link it to my current site. If I were to redo the class now (and I may some day in the future), I'd do things differently. However, maybe what I did back then will help. Even if not exact, maybe something you can tweak or borrow from.

Links to the Blade Spells can be found on the page. Farewell and safe journeys for now.
